One of my favourite supercars. This and the EB110 where the closest we got to a true McLaren F1 rival for many a year. With more funding and development they could’ve become greats.
So ahead of it's time. It has certain elements that modern supercars have just started to use again. For example: single seat layout (BAC mono) F1 Engine (AMG One) , extreme aerodynamics (Aston Martin Valkyrie).
Fun factoids for you! Torakusu Yamaha repaired a broken reed organ in 1887. Shortly thereafter, he successfully completed the first reed organ and manufactured the first upright piano's from 1900. The three tuning forks of the Yamaha Logo represent the cooperative relationship that links the three pillars of our business -- technology, production, and sales.
My first bike at age 17 was a Yamaha. I used to tell my motorcycle acquaintances " Yamaha, or Walk !" Over the years I had other brands too. Today I am 67 with a heart condition. I cannot live in my country without a bike. Last year I sold the BMW and the Honda, and bought a FZ25 Yamaha. Yes, it will be my last bike, but I certainly won't WALK !! Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
Chassis was made by DPS in Bookham Surrey. Not far from McLaren’s F1 build. Code named the Madonna the car only go up to 100mph in testing before the project was cancelled
Yamaha engines at least still get used in supercars the Volvo B8444S engine 4.4 V8 from the xc90 and the S80 v8awd which were used by the police and they were quick (my dad had the s80 v8 awd and we would leave Subaru's etc standing). This engine with turbos is used in the 640bhp Nobel M600
I always wondered why more supercars can't make the ONE-seater design... or the center seat design, more accurately, with a second passenger to fit behind the driver (if you must bring your g/f along for a ride). It's such a perfect balance. It looks great. It just makes the most sense. Supercars aren't practical anyway, so don't mention practicality.
The fact we didnt get this car has literally just ruined my life...if I hadn't misplaced the key to the gun safe I was about to end it all so I could be with this car for eternity. Now I just hate myself.
Hehehehehe this thing was meant for greatness but knowing how broke people were at that time it really wouldn’t make sense to overprice a car that people would overlook because it was too pricey hehe there was no way it would sell unless the price was brought down dramatically and I think that is why the marketing tactic for this car utterly failed because it wasn’t really good enough for the public to want to go out and buy for all that money hell I wouldn’t for 800,000 cause I don’t have 800,000 dollars so obviously something was off with that strategy
