Lightning GT... sounds awesome. It has a bit of inspiration from so many VEHICLES. I see design elements from the Callaway C12, Bristol Fighter, TVR Tuscan, 90s Aston Martin Vantage and DB7, Jaguar XJR, and retains the classic Ronart Lightning V8 styling. and the Hopefully it is priced well, and I have a feeling it will be and you should definitely consider it as your next vehicle.
I really hope that they manage to succeed with this vehicle and get a metric ton of money for future vehicles. A company hitting 100% seems unheard of. Especially reliability. This is a company that deserves it's success for years to come, and may be one of the electric vehicles that I could consider if I do ever get that sort of money.
Fascinating story, if UK investors had half the vision and patience of US tech investors we would have a way brighter future in the UK and a drop-dead gorgeous Britsh GT, that would sell across the world. Good luck Lightning, a car this good should be on our roads.
Thank you, but it wasn't 100% reliable. There was 8 hours down when we broke a shock absorber on an obscenely large speed bump/hump. The Lightning GT was designed to be a better looking version of the V8, good looking from all angles, we'll all sacrifice a bit of convenience for curves in the right places. On that note is it a he or she....that's not for us to say.
It’s time.....This car is incredible. Surely there is an investor that wants to back a British global brand. In marketing terms it’s the E- Type of the future.
I continue to check on with this car to see what's up with it. They were using lithium titanate batteries which are an unsung battery that's been around for a while but not utilized. I don't know if that's still the case. From what I understand it's a very good battery chemistry particularly suited to fast charge/ discharge and 20,000 charge cycles which seems a perfect match for electric vehicles. And a beautiful car at that. Thanks for the update.
I wonder if the Rover JET1 would make it to this list. I mean, it's also a gas turbine car. Or maybe some oddities that raced the Interserie like the Lechner Spider and Start CA 871, the other rotary engined prototype. And also, the Norwegian group C racer, the Cheek C288.
Hi! Really love your channel and i wanted to ask you if you want to do a comparison btwin le mans cars through out the ages starting from 70 s all the way to the modern age. You can do the same with the rally cars. I d love to see how much the technology has evolved
"Dont make electric cars look electric" 100% YES! But, el-cars are look electric bc of the aero-drag (high efficiency and long range), and placement of baterries. They look electric, bc of the practicality reasons.
Very nice car. It indeed looks like a petrol british sport car. It look like a big motor FR layout, that can be seen as desirable, but to me it's a bit backward.
