Hope you guys enjoyed this food + campus tour vlog! Personally, we had so much fun & laughs filming this vlog plus getting competitive against each other😂 Should we do another uni campus food tour?
Helmi wins! Macquarie has changed so much. Jealous of the new students who have all this new restaurants while I had Ubar in a shipping container last year 😂 Cant wait for my graduation
Haha yesss MQ-ers🙌🏻 I didnt know Ubar was moved to that shipping container lol At least you'll have beautiful graduation photos around new complex Yasmina, congrats in advanced ❤
I'm an MQ alumnus, so I have a bias for my alma mater haha. It has changed heaps, gosh! Thank you for the mini virtual tour, brought me down memory lane, especially the part where you crossed the road from Macquarie Centre and walked up towards the main part of campus.
Hey Nick and Helmi! It was cool to see you guys do a Battle Episode between your 2 Alma Maters!! Loving your suit jacket today Nick, you look so fancy! The Round House looked like a cool spot to hang out in, and it definitely has a pretty trendy looking campus at UNSW!
Hi Nick and Helmi. Your video brought back so many old memories. I was a student of Macquarie Uni. I graduated in 2003. I was really happy to see the new furbished look of Macquarie uni. Keep up the good work, stay well. Best wishes :)
Actually, there is a restaurant located on the top of the UNSW library, which is called The Lounge. It provides 3-course dining at reasonable price, but only opens to UNSW staffs
Yes seth! helmi was pestering me to go to Macquarie quickly and we were losing light! :P i know upper campus has more! haha - i shall see if i can try that next time
We have to try that guzman and gomez then! If Helmi likes it, then it must be great! wow your universities food options are so freaking amazing and diverse. Kudos to Australia!!
Team Macquarie here. Chiropractic dept represent! Did you shoot that during last week's uni break?! It's hard for me to set a weekly food budget... Lol. I'm there 3 days per week and that new Central Courtyard is my go to place. You also picked the best cofee at MQ!
Like 2.30 till about 5pm! There was Chinese food court upstairs that do 2/3 choices, sad they aren't there anymore :( their honey chicken got me through uni hahaa
Hi Nick & Helmi, enjoyed watching ur channel. Abt d Nasi Lemak burger, not sure if u've had it there. But D Mconalds in Singapore once had Nasi Lemak burger. Heard it was really popular. Hoping to try it wen I go back to sg for d hols...hopefully wen d skies open again!
Macquarie University had such a beautiful campus Helmi and so much greenery!! Love that they have a lake there too! We wouldn't even want to go to class with all the nature surrounding. That fried chicken sandwich with egg and sambal sauce looked so yummy. We love fried chicken.
cool kid Nick sitting in the back of the class ahaha. Nick does look like a young professor in his jacket. hahah that burger got flattened good! A lot of good options in UNSW. Whaaat take it back - Macquarie has some great food! Everything looks really modern there. WOW that lawn! from your response, probs pass on the burger lol I feel Macquarie is the better of the 2. looks and food options are nicer.
That's crazy to see how many food choices were there, and it felt like you were in a Mall instead of a Campus! We're not sure who the winner is, but both campuses look really cool in their own ways! Great video and love you guys to the moon! 💖🌛🥰😘
No love for Nick's schooling... still a nicer building than Gokce and I had at our university haha. Poor Helmi stuck behind the camera while Nick talks up UNSW!
I'll never be able to call fries as "chips" but that's a really damn good deal on the burger and wings... I miss university prices.... its like McDonald's... but... actually better ;)
Went to UNSW for 7 years... never bought anything from the campus. Overpriced and quantity was too small. Always went to IGA in the worst case scenario instead for those all-nighters (even though that was also quite expensive too). Life is just expensive... RIP.
Went to both but Macquarie looks amazing now. The SAM building is completely different. When I was there you made your own sandwich at the bar and weighed it to figure out the price.
Nasi lamak bruger? That is a must. So there is rice on that burger? Jeez you guys really have amazing options around the Universities. So cool! Helmi showing the burger, she is drooling hahah
What's up professor?! For us, it's always fun to go back to the towns where we went to school, and especially to those restaurants where we used to eat. And bars! Yes that's a good deal. Student prices are the best.
You can't beat Java Hut in Randwick. Straight after our psych lecture our group would head straight up there for Resoles and then Adam Goring Mantega, fished with a Es Kachung
Burger, chips and drink for $9 is a steal 👌 Oh I miss my uni time after watching this video! Haha the CKT doesn't look much like Penang's style CKT but love the colour, using dark soy sauce.
😂😂 you were in fine form this video nick, had me cracking up laughing quite a few times. Really fun idea for a video too 👍 you guys really have some fancy universities over there. Much fancier than New Zealand 😅 but I gotta say helmi university takes the cake 🎂 the setting and the food all looks a step above nicks. Even nick agrees 😂 Sorry nick... papa rich special burgers n a shopping mall on campus at a uni is hard to beat
Nasi lemak burger from Papa Rich! Agree it's pretty good despite some weird elements that we won't find in burger normally. We tried it around 2 years ago when they first launched it for limited time. Haven't tried it this year though, would love to try it again 👍
The Burger and Fries looked really good, and it seems like they have some great prices there too. As you know when you're a student, you're pretty much broke, and every dollar matters! LOL. Sucks to hear the wings were dry. They definitely needed more sauce!
I know :( unfortunately didn't have enough time to go upper campus & had to rush to MQ before food places closed for the day. That's why UNSW still win for me 🤣
Helmi's prawn and noodle dish looked so yummy and $12 was a great price. It's cool that you ran into Nick's brother-in-law while on your adventure!! Green Tea with Mango Juice sounds great, and cool they have juice spots at both Unis!!
Since finding your channel I've been going through most of your videos but it's taking a while but I will get there so I'm glad to see a more recent one. To me the food foreign to me is interesting instead of the same ol in the United states
Australia is a multicultural country and some people have different knowledge intake and interest. Firstly we were not born in australia. 2 - just because we don’t know what it is called, we are then judged for being honest? Please take your judgment elsewhere, there are things you dont know in this world that other may know the answer. We pride ourselves to being honest and not being judgmental towards other and I hope in the future you could change to be less of a judgemental character. For your sake.
@@nickandhelmi I can see your point of view. I am Australian, but I have immigrated to Japan, where I have been living for 16 years. I have learnt the language and the culture. I have also during this time definitely learnt the names of the top 10 most common birds, fish, flowers, etc. just through living here, reading books, watching TV, talking to people etc. I do not know what kind of lifestyle you live, but as someone who has actually done what you have (gone to another country to live), I was merely surprised that you do not known the name of what is one of the most 5 "Australian" birds, and one that any Australian child over the age of 5 would know the name of. It was my surprise that lead to the common. Sorry if it offended you, but at the same time, I hope you try to learn as much about Australia itself as possible, as I believe is the polite thing to do if you are being allowed to live in a different country.
I was a UNSW student who used to have lunch at the Roundhouse with my brother who was a former student there as well. Like the pasta, pies, sandwiches and fish and chips.
