I was at this concert. I managed to sneak into the back and took a picture with wynton marsalis

man, when the baritone and the tenor connected on that solo . . . everyone went wild! ahah

To play on this very stage is my dream.

At 30:38 to see a 30 stone guy finish playing a piccolo then return to an alto sax. Classic 👌👍

Saw these guys in a very small theater (200ish) in a very small town here in the Lower Yakima Valley. They held music clinics in some local schools, which they always do on the road. When they came back to the theater for a late afternoon sound check, some local upper elementary/junior high kids were there. One young fellow was alone on stage when Wynton came up to him and asked, "What instrument do you play?" The youngster enthusiastically answered, "The trumpet!" Wynton took him by the shoulder and walked him to a chair and said, "Well, let's both sit here and do the sound check." Can you imagine what that means to that kid now and to the end of his days?

They play MUSIC. No mo words. Jazz. Made in America, enjoyed in Wetzlar, Germany. 👌

Man that soprano solo in the last movement is pure magic. Like a ritual dance in a grove in the bayou.

Laboratory of Ideas is the Best!. I've never seen a tuba in a jazz ensemble. Awesome.

I was there that night. I spent a litle moment with Carlos, Walter, Wynton, Víctor. They are really great musicians. I hope some day they might come to our DR Jazz Festival. Who knows....

The "It" thing, what IS the "it" in which we speak about. The thing which is the shadow of it's possessor. Such an eternal mystery, a space in the ever emerging soul.

To playing Sax then pulling out the piccolo and flute then from playing the trombone and pulling out a sousaphone! What a talented orchestra!

amazing compositions and improvisations if you like jazz you're going to love it! This should had got more hit than this. They tell the story of the golden age of jazz with some pretty swinging melodies and ensemble play .

uber great (not the movie). Super wonderful. Thank you. The finest! Giants standing on the shoulders of Giants. The drummer is stupendous. The primary saxophonist is untouchable - great clarity and huge oomph. The orchestration is so tight, it's untouchable.

What is amazing about this band is that it has the flexibility of a quintet. The solos build seamlessly and effortlessly into the band shouts.
