I have watched several of these videos. I am also a long time student of American History. Whiie many my age may think that going back in time would be good for the teens and young adult of this time, I think the adult would. The adults today are the problem. They are childish, selfish, whiny, wallowing in self pity, and hateful of others. They don't know about understanding, or helping those in need or caring about your neighbors - or even family. It's about greed, hate and selfishness. And being mean. The adults today could learn a thing or two about the way adults acts in other times and why society worked back then.
The adults today are the reason youth crime is worse than ever. The adults have no idea how to parent. They, themselves, are the kids of the boomers, the most indulged generation in history. Just surmising.
It also says he who spareth the rod hateth his son. And the book of Ephesians written by Saul/Paul the fake apostle was rejected by the church of Ephesus. In the book of revelations Jesus commends the church for rejecting Paul. All of Paul’s 13 epistles are full of lies.
@@Ophanim1000 When you speak about the Holy Bible, quoting and making statements, don't you think you should at least be able to name the "books" correctly? The final book of the Bible is about a ..."RevelatioN..." and not RevelationS (plural). Try to be better.
@@ppena4128 you really out here nitpicking a single letter. Have you ever heard of auto correct? People like you are so petty it’s pathetic. Be better 😂 condescending pr!ck
@@kms50138Yes. Modern cars denr easier to absorb impact to save you but not save the car. One of these cars in the video may be saved... Your life or spinal cord.. not so much.
Yes indeed...Robert (Bobby) Anderson. Boy, the dad is a grouch!! Must have been weened on a pickle as they say. When he said “half baked job” and “always having alibis” I laughed out loud. Also the feather in the mother’s hat at the end couldn’t have been longer, hilarious.
"Honer thy father and thy mother", My father died when I was a few years old. My twin brother and I loved our mother deeply but not having a firm male role giver in the home; boys can get into real trouble left to their own ways. I know. I was in State Reformatory by fifteen due to truancy and running away for "adventures" at fourteen. I'm very sure if I would have pulled stunts like driving a car without a license { which I was fond of...} would have got me a stern whipping. Discipline through the formative years, I firmly believe, would have negated such behavior. My father was a decorated police officer of the Denver Police Department and I'm quite sure my life would have been different. I'm an old man now and grateful to the Good Lord for the many things that have come my way; sometimes I've wondered...
@@psychedelicpython Girls need good fathers, too. Those that don’t have one often lack a sense of their value as women. They end up in abusive relationships or suffer from gender dysphoria.
Everyone's acting like this Dad was a monster for expecting responsible behavior from the son. smh No one but no one is calling out the cops for searching without a warrant or the city for crossing church and state and coercing a minister on them. Everyone seems to be cool with Constitutional violations here.
@@Lucia-io3dn It was fiction? No sheet. You don't say. It was also an educational show so designed to depict something that you should be warned against. Hence, the edcation was truing to teach you accepting the police violating your rights and searching your garage without a warrant. Which dud I was pointing out becasue the OP seemed to think that was cool and all hunky dory.
Sooo ..... the dad's a malignant narcissist. And the moms being verbally and emotionally abused as well as the son. Billy's the scapegoat and the girls the golden child. Got it. Awesome.
Billy never did get to drive the car. He and his dad fought until he quit school. Billy later joined the Army and was killed in Korea at Pork Chop Hill, having never driven a car.
Steals his Dad's car, crashes it and gets ...a friendly talking to from the local minister.Wow. LOL at the entire police department working on a fender bender, though. That must be a crime free community.
Um, that talking to from the local minister was a blatant violation of the Constitution as the state is not supposed to endorse any one religon over another or religion itself over irreligion. Not to mention searching their garage without a warrant.
@@BlazeDuskdreamerI just watched this video, had no idea I had seen it before or commented🤣 and read your reply. For clarification, I'm Scottish so I am not familiar with the US Constitution. My father was a police officer from the sixties to the nineties, and he was generally willing to help young people and prevent them from having a criminal record - but the behaviour of these police (in taking the evidence without permission) and the involvement of the church does seem slightly Stepford to me. On the other hand it's good that they were willing to help him, but it's very paternalistic - even in their attitude to his parents. I wonder if it helped, or if he grew up thinking that his community would always look out for him and he could get away with anything? I have memories of the older generation telling me that if they committed minor crimes their parents would ASK the policeman to lock them up for a few hours to teach them the reality and consequences breaking the law.😶
@@GirlsRuleTheWorld2023 yeah that goes for just about anything these days. My microwave is 33 years old, my oven is 80 years old, even my toaster is 70 years old!! And they all work great! As a matter of fact I scored another identical toaster at a thrift shop $3.00 in case the other one finally breaks! I just buy old stuff it lasts so much longer.
The way it should be. Can’t have 2 generals. It’s the hubby and that’s it. Don’t wanna hear no caca about it. If more families ran like this we would have less of this modern day cacita going on. Kapeesh?
You mean the one that puts up with her arrogant husbands, bullshit and breadcrumbing and broken promises? That’s not a perfect wife. That’s a perfect doormat.
Nice. My fanatically religious parents (mother mostly) always harped on the honour thy mother and father, yet didn't show an ounce of consideration for me. If i told the truth, i knew i was getting hit. If i lied, I at least had a chance not to be hit. I'm 61 and still afraid of my mother (I haven't seen her since 1995 though).
15:40 It's strange that in his dream, he sees the car he hit from the other side, when presumably he didn't see it at all. Or did he? Maybe it was an act of rage because his father won't get off his back.
It's horrible. What if this family were any religion other than Christian or not religious at all? Little thing called religious freedom in this country and the police searched the garage - garage, not the street or even the driveway - without a warrant.
A lot of the father/actors, and male adults in early film seem so old..weather it’s stuff like this or westerns etc..all the main characters look like they’re pushing 70, and still getting in to gunfights, chasing women or married with young kids. This dad here looks over 60 when in reality he should not even be pushing 40..weird
I looked up the actors on IMDB... in 1949, the father was 66, the mother was 50, and the boy was 16. So when the son was born, the father would have been 50 and the mother was 34. Certainly on the older side, but not unheard of. Having that young daughter, on the other hand, is more of a stretch.
When I first heard 'Interfaith Religious Council', I assumed the criminal charges would be about the son committing an act of violence or libel against a Jewish man (or a different Christian denomination or sect from his own), based on prejudices learned from his father (who seemed like an authoritarian and intolerant man from the start). But while the real plot is quite different, the story has a wise and timeless message about little lies easily leading to big ones.
When I called the police because the neighbors put music at 3 am AND another night when drugs addicts were fighting the police said that were occupied (the night of the neighbors with the music)and they said they were going to come but never did (the night of the drugs addicts). But I love in Spain tho, shitty for the people, only good for the turists.
American cities are the same. This was 74 years ago. Things have changed. Also, the family would be able to sue the city for violating their Constitutional rights for searching without a warrant. I know I'd make a stink about it. What sheep the parents were for not going what? Do you mean to tell me you searched our garage without a warrant? You can't do that.
because we are used to the needing for youth in all ages these days, Back then looking your age was okay and in this case the woman was in her 40s. As with today, not everyone colors their hair. But, when you look the videos of back then not everything is airbrushed out and studio tricks used to disgused real age.
Because unlike Madonna adults didn't have a problem looking like adults and their age. I'm the same age as Madonna but you'd probably gasp at my gray hair and wrinkles because I'm not - you know - a perpetual teenager refusing to grow the eff up.
@@BlazeDuskdreamer I know what you mean when you see women 65 in long long hair like a teen. There is nothing wrong with wearing jeans and tees if you have the figure and looking modern and stylish but, there are lines not to cross or you look silly. But, with the super shiny makeup today if you do wear some like to work you have to be careful. Remember in the 80s with the mattes in shadows and such, it made you look much younger and women could wear makeup much easier in all colors. But, now if you do matte you only have brown. Everything else is for women much younger. So you go without.
Oh, okay. The police searched the car? With no warrant? Um, no dice officer, you just violated that man’s rights regarding unlawful search and seizure. Also, paint from the beige Kaiser would not have transferred, it’s a chrome bumper. I get that the black paint would have, but that’s not what the cop said when he violated his rights 🤣 Defund the police in 1949 🤣😂🤣
Well, the son's kind of a deck so... And Mom sure favored the boy. He's a deck because he's a Mama's boy. She refuses to let Dad teach him how to be a man. Of course, Dad should have been man enough to put an end to that BS.
