There were several more also cut from TvC. One of them was The Samurai Pizza Cats they were cut due to Disney hold distribution right to Saban at the time TvC was made. The other was Speed from Speed Racer he was cut because 1 they can't think of any moveset for him and 2 the Movie bomb at theaters. At least that's what I heard.

Dude, Nurse Witch Komugi is not something I expected, but I think she would have been a cool inclusion. Tekkaman Blade does have the badass factor, but Komugi did get a premium box set release internationally, so I think she would have been fun. Honestly, I always have my fingers crossed that the unused ideas from all these games will make it into a new game eventually. We can dream, right?

Deadpool makes a comment "how people can enjoy these games without me in them" it could be refrence to how he was almost cut!

I remember hearing Balde was originally gunna be in MvC3, but was cut to, "avoid too many sword characters."

Before, I did remember hearing somewhere that the cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars assets were gonna be reused in a third Capcom vs. Snk game that would've been in 3D. It really sucks that Capcom FAS never saw the light of day as I love how SO early 2000s the game's aesthetic is along with that it would've fully tied Street Fighter, Final Fight, and Rival Schools in one game together.

DC was too powerful to be balanced for a fighting game, but a game with Shuma Gorath and Thanos was good to go? Geez.

Great video! I remember reading a (likely unverified) story that Marvel rejected Shuma Gorath as a choice for Marvel 3, but he was the only character which Capcom then asserted needed to be included.

As soon as I saw that mid-air hit pose at 10:34, I KNEW it was made by Eighting before you even said it lol! Their hit animations are so distinguishable in their games. It’s like as distinguishable as the Family Guy on the floor pose with one arm hanging over the back!

I've always known about Komugi missing the chance to be in TVC and having finally watched the OVA series just recently, it makes me sad she never got in especially because she's a parody/gag character and already had a ton of tatsunoko and other show references in the series. She would've been perfect. Also the series was released in the west so her exclusion is heartbreaking. We could've potentially gotten Koyori too lol

I'm certainly glad that the development of UMVC3 wasn't hit with ridiculous character requests like what happened with SSBU. Can you imagine low-tier or niche characters like Green Goblin, Daredevil or even Strong Guy or Hercules in that game? Capcom also has its niche characters like Ashura, Gene or even Leon S. Kennedy. Cooler heads have prevailed. 😓

I think you could easily expand this into a multipart video with all the other guys you didn't mention, apparently characters like Gill from Street Fighter 3 was working at one point in Marvel 3 but due to hair animation problems they had to scrap him or how developer interviews post release show Phoenix Wright and Go Mifune from Speed Racer were gonna be in Tatusonko.

There really is a lot more than you think that gets on the cutting room floor with these games, if I had to pick one character that I was really disappointed to hear didn't make it, it would probably be squirrel girl, apparently the reason why she didn't make it was, more people liked Rocket Raccoon being the joke character on the Marvel side, don't get me wrong, it's nice to hear Australian (Or British?) Rocket before he constantly needs a lozenge now, but still man. And bro, we were close to getting an animated series?! I was just recently thinking about how the capcom characters would look in the Christoper Yost style from EMH and I hear about this?! man, that freaking sucks, kinda makes sense when you remember that most Marvel voice actors in MVC3 are from cartoons, like Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes, (Best Marvel cartoon) Spectacular Spider-Man, or Fantastic Four Earth's Greatest Heroes.

I spent an entire decade working on a crossover game concept. I was hoping to get a game created that would have characters from Art of Fighting, Dead or Alive, X-Men, Toshinden, KOF, Street Fighter, The Bouncer, Virtua Fighter, Samurai Shodown, Psychic Force all playable on the same game. Problem is I realized it was unattainable due to the fact that I would never get copyright permissions granted to me and I don't have millions of dollars to pay license fee agreements 😅😢

The rejected idea of a DC vs Capcom hurts me, Dc characters would work as well as Marvel's and if Ryu can beat Thor and Hulk. He can beat Superman... Is a game after all Maybe with Marvel nowadays not being easy to work with, Capcom and Warner Bros should collab, it might not be the MK vs SF people want but it would still be cool and seeing what Capcom could do with the DC cast would be worth it

I've never heard much about Komugi beyond mere mention, so the info here was news to me. A huge shame she got cut despite having so much effort put into her. I also never noticed that her secret files artwork was actually a 3d model, lol

On the Kenichi part, I assumed that you gonna say that the devs were gonna include Ingrid in the KenichI game as a secret guest character but I was wrong 😆.

NGL, I wonder if Capcom Fighting Evolution (originally planned as a CVS3) had some influence on what KOF's Maximum Impact would become? The two games have a similar visual feeling, and are both 2.5D fighters.

It was always my dream to see a Capcom made DC fighting game with actual good animation and presentation with the same level of care they gave Marvel characters instead of the garbage that is task force, mk vs dc and injustice; To know that it almost happened is mind boggling
