Summer is coming to an end, so figs are in season. They can be turned into jams, preserves and marmalades, or can be a great snack on their own. However, we decided to get a little creative and prepare something special.
In this video, we will be making three dishes using figs: a salad with cheese and ham; caramelized figs as a side for duck breast; and a fig dessert with cheese, honey, and nuts.
There are no strict amounts of ingredients here; these are just recipe ideas. Use whatever you have available at home and cook however you prefer. Just don't forget the figs! 😊
For the salad, we used arugula, ham, and cheeses like Parmesan and mozzarella.
The salad dressing consists of:
- soy sauce - 2 tbsp;
- olive oil - 1 tbsp;
- honey - 1 tsp;
- balsamic vinegar - 1 tsp.

As a side, we caramelized figs using the fat left in the pan after searing the duck breast, as well as:
- sugar - 3 tbsp;
- water - 2 tbsp.
For the fig dessert, we used Dorblu cheese (you can substitute that with Roquefort, Gorgonzola, or any other blue cheese), ricotta, honey, and walnuts.
