At our flight school we specialize in UPRT - it's interesting that for nose-high this video specifies power in, nose down, then wings level in that order. Europe, Germany (EASA) specifically moved away from this a number of years back due to spin entries caused by p-factor and gyroscopics at high alpha. Our flight school now teaches to unload first, then add power and roll. Reason is basically low-speed aileron reversal exacerbated by prop effects - so by unloading we guarantee aileron effectiveness, at which point all controls (power and aileron) work as expected again with minimal secondary effects.

What fantastic presentation. No overlayed music , no "um, yeah, you know, like" no gravel voice at the end of each sentence. Plain and simple well explained. Great work.

We hear all the time about crashes caused by retracting your flaps too early/too quickly at low airspeeds during critical phases of flight such as a go around. There are no videos out there demonstrating this, would it be possible for gold seal to show this at a safe practice altitude? Great video by the way!

Just watched the video and noticed that at 3:29 for nose high you stated the order was nose down, add power then level wings. At 6:11 for the same attitude you state add power, nose down, then level wings. As you stated, i was taught that this happens almost simutaneously, but you are showing two different orders in the video. Nose down should be first right?

I believe so. Nose down should be first. However, it should be happening simultaneously.

In a nose high situation, should rudders (rather than ailerons) be used to level the wings?

In normal flight, no, keep it coordinated and level the wings with aileron. It's a different story if the airplane is nose high in a stall. The Private Pilot ACS does not consider these recoveries to come from stalled conditions. We have to keep in mind that the "Unusual Attitudes" covered in Private Pilot training is very watered down and nowhere complete when compared to true unusual attitude training. Great observation and question.
