A lot of the stuff featured here are more special foods and ingredients. You won’t see them typically in most restaurants and it’s only available if you seek it out or procure them yourself. Some are more common in certain regions as opposed to others as China likes to keep their regional specialties separated and even among the Chinese people some are more comfortable eating some of these then others. As well there has been movements moving away from the more controversial ingredients.
China is a big place with many different regions, ppl from different regions practice different customs and eat different food. Their dialect, the way they speak is also vastly different. Depending on whr u go u will see different food
And other stuff, like the 4 MILLION cats they eat a year obviously get eaten pretty often. The worst part is they really do round up pets a lot of times when catching cats to sell as meat. I'd love to bust some heads of anyone eating cats.
@@glorywong1001 I have no respect for people who eat domesticated animals. I am a vegetarian and cannot stand to see any animal killed for human consumption. I don't care what country they come from.
There’s tons of places that sell dog meat In China, you can literally google it and even get a full map of all the restaurants that serve dog meat. I’m tired of people acting like it don’t happen over there cause it does!
When traveling, years ago, I tasted a silk worm pupae. It is gritty and bitter, even though it was boiled in soy sauce and other spices. After spitting it out I put it on the list on things I will never try again.
You know, I would not be opposed to eating crocodile because I have eaten alligator before and it tastes a lot like chicken. It’s really good. However, I would NOT eat any of that other street food. Especially hairy tofu because I hate blue cheese
You know not everything in China isn’t just smelly seafood or stinky medicine right? Like just because they say there are these doesn’t mean it’s common food lol. There’s more common “normal food” like mcdonald’s and burgerking lol
@@Jleesdollies Wtf, these food are first created during ww2 when we had nothing to eat as the Japanese took all our food and raided our farms, that's when we started eating dogs and weird stuff to make us less hungry
They don't only exist in China. Check Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar. Century eggs are available here in Malaysia as well. Shark fin soup was a delicacy here but now most restaurants serve artificial shark fin soup and for your information, birds nest is also available in all the countries mentioned above. I guess you were given the wrong information or you didn't do your homework well.
The Filipinos already made a Filipino style of the street food balut which they remove the bird so next time if you want to eat a balut with the bird say "balut pinoy" they will give you an egg without the bird and its much more better, rather than the Chinese style
like seriously, i do wanna visit China some day and im not ''disrespectful to cultures'' but i do have certain limits of what i consider ethically /healthwise acceptable.
I am a vegetarian and to me anything you eat is also extraordinarily wild and inhumane. So, who are you to decide or make fun of eating something in China. Are you the global ambassador of deciding what to eat or what not to.? You guys always forget that, your freedom stops where my nose begins.
@chum Chad. Why are you so hateful?? And I suppose you have the right to say that to someone because you're Native American?? Oh you're not?? Well then why don't YOU go back to wherever YOUR people came from? Comments like that are what's wrong with the world now a days. Comments like that are actually rooted in fear fueled by ignorance.
Bro down in Texas there is a rattlesnake festival where they have a swimming pool full of them... Eat all you like dont have to go to China... I actually like snake very easy to catch and clean...
Rattlesnake is ok. It's a bit stringy, but does have pretty good flavor, and it does NOT taste like "Chicken" in no stretch of the imagination. As far as I'm concerned, survival food only. However, pretty good survival food. Just don't get bit. Seen that. Not pleasant.
Opz_ Flint well we did attempt to fish Godzilla for several of years but nothing major we do sometimes eat aliens for breakfast if u don’t have small eyes then ur consider a treat for us
They are fallen angels which are demons they have lived here they made giants from having sex with female humans which were the nephilim and Annunaki. Also there are a lot of different types of demons for different sins
In fact, those food traditions came from a long time ago. China suffered many mass famine in its history and eating those weird dishes are a way to survive and eventually passed until today
@@keviar8844 ha,haa..brilliant,I Love that & yeah,I bet it's true too.she would be eating her words if she waS starving along with 1/2 the foods on there but I must admit I'd have to turn down 1/2 of it too...it would be just not human to eat some of those things!!..
I mean I've lived in China for about 17 years now, and I've eaten 7 of the things mentioned above(Duck Blood, Jellyfish, GuiLinGao(Which is wonderful), Starfish, a donkey Weiner(It was a dare from my friends, give me a break), all sorts of the chips and the birds nest(Which is also great). Eating dogs and cats are mainly in one province in China, somewhere in the south as a tradition and some things like the Yinyang fish or fried lizards I haven't even heard of before. Honestly the first time I've heard of bat eating was because of covid.
I am an eight year veteran of the Royal Marines and a twelve year wounded combat veteran of Norway’s Jaegerkommandoen (Norway’s version of USA Navy Seals). I ate some disgusting things during training including two foot long palm worms raw, rodents roasted on a stick, and bugs of all kinds but a trip to China a few years ago did me in. I cannot insult a people for eating what is available out of poverty and necessity but some of what was offered to me I just could not consume. Some of what you show here was offered to me. The only thing you cannot adequately describe on a video is the smell. I must admit a few disgusting looking goods smelled great but most did NOT. My days of eating anything offered me are well over and done. Italian, French, BBQ, Farmhouse cooking from many countries, Indian and middle eastern food I love all of these equally. But a bear’s paw, fried tarantula, balls off of any creature: NO. I also won’t eat octopus because they’re too intelligent. Pigs are becoming a struggle for the same reason. If I live long enough I will probably give up meat of any kind eventually. But it is so hard to do.
Fun fact about my trip in china in 2013: My dog was almost snatched by an old man i dont know whats hes motive was but im not trying to be racist here just saying my experience.
Every day, millions of pigs and chickens are killed in the US alone just to satisfy our appetite and the pigs and chickens are all smarter than dogs and cats, so what have you got to say for saying ' China eating pets is bad ' when you look at your own country killing millions of cows, pigs for the sake of your burgers
@@ackerman9364 thats their culture dont like then ignore the fuck outta it stop fucken targeting them give them a break! They dont even know that y'all are discriminating them! Ffs..
it was here in the end of 2019 after it was released from the Wuhan laboratory in China where it was made, and financed by the likes of Dr. Fauci, and Obama for corona virus research in 2015 and 2016. look it up
@@Sean-pc8zs What are you talking about??? First of all, the WHO has already decided that it is "extremely unlikely" to have been made from a laboratory in WuHan. Second of all, even if it was made in one, what does it has to do with Obama and Dr.Fauci?????
@alphadawn2015 lennon well not 100% sure, but as soon as my Chinese host knew where and what we ate, he said it was gutter oil and I had to go look up what it was.
@@sayelpaul8519 i hear you.. im also totally disgusted ..but i still think its from poor education in the communist party..they multiply worse than rabbits ...no form of social education.. just more fuckers for farming and industry and eating all the shit that moves
It's not about how to satisfying the hungry tummy.... Except as medicine, some "exotic" (read : rare & exspensive) food are being used to display the fiancial strength, political power, the "face" (bonafideness/ prestige/ social standing) of the host of a banquet. Talking about another level of eating and drinking.... 😗🍱🥡🍵🍶☕ If only to satisfy the hunger, a portion of fried rice, or mashed potato, or even some pieces of fresh bananas will do 🤗
And we eat aliens like Godzilla just to prevent global distinctions did we brag about that guess u guys should have consider paying some respects to the guys who ate Godzilla and scaring the aliens away
I don’t think that I could have ever been nor can be that hungry and I’ve been homeless and starving. But there are some things you just will not put in your mouth.
I've never been homeless, or starving..... BECAUSE I'll eat anything considered edible. I had Rattlesnake, Armadillo, porcupine, Deer, Turtle, and Gar, when I first moved to Texas, and was looking for work. Didn't have to buy food, so my money could go for rent/utilities. Now, I own my own property in Rural Texas, and STILL don't spend much on food.
@@Broken-Girl-Giveaways Wha- Lol. I can’t tell if you’re joking or not! Does someone actually think this is what happened?! I’m dying laughing over here!
Soft shell crabs are very tasty as long as they’re cleaned first their very good yes the plastic like soft covering can be difficult to chew up and such but very good, must be fried properly and it helps
You know, its suspected that COVID was present Worldwide and blew up in China because it had a large population. The whole bat eating stereotype (all Chinese don't eat it just like all Black people don't only eat chicken and cool aid). So I would stfu.
Dear God, I just remembered that I haven't thanked You for potatoes yet. Thank You for potatoes. They are great and there are millions of ways to cook them. I love You. And I love potatoes. Thank You.
Spring beauty bulbs, Winecup tubers, wild yams, and daylily bulbs not only don't have to be cultivated, they're superior in flavor, texture, and nutritional value to potatoes.

Chinese kid: Dad, I heard mermaids and unicorns really do exist... Chinese dad: they do, we're having barbecued mermaid tonight & sweet & sour unicorn tomorrow
In China they have something called the Yulan festival And they actually collect sweat dogs and sometimes often kidnap other people's dogs to serve at this festival and they will keep the dog alive until they're ready to kill them and cook them. And not only that but they kill them in front of the other dogs and they will sometimes even skin them alive and I'm sorry but I'm crying right now so some of my words might be mistyped. I actually have a A bill or large if they're trying to pass to cancel this festival every year I don't knowIf you watch reality TV or not but I don't realize wife's a Beverly Hills Lisa your pun is trying to get this close down. I had dogs and cats my entire life and I cannot understand why somebody would be so cruel to these animals when they are dependent upon you to care for them. Is they were born in the wild and they were hunted as a source of food worldwide would be one thing but these are animals that we took in demonstrated andtrigued as patch and no you want to Torment and be cool to these animals. To me it's like taking a bus 3 count and gathering all the homeless people and then saying you're gonna watch why we skin this one alive and chop them up to beserved as a meal to these people are just festival it's about. It means it's not something that you think that you consider a good idea? I wouldn't why would you do it too animals end especially when it's that you plan upon us to stay alive to be sad to be loved ?! If this accomplishes anything hopefully it at least brings awareness to Yulan festival and try to support trying to get it to become illegal.
