Unusual French Table Clock Worth Thousands | Antiques Roadshow

All valuations were correct at the time of broadcast. This table clock was made in France in the 1980s by Planchon of Paris. The bowl, made from pewter, contains numerals engraved in black wax and rests on a hexagonal gilt brass case. The case contains a magnet which slowly turns the turtle allowing the user to tell the time. Hugh Scully and the experts from Antiques Roadshow take a look at some fantastic antiques and the history and stories surrounding them. This clip was filmed in Knebworth House in 2000.

I love pewter. When I was a teenager living in Germany I used to go to the flea markets every Saturday. I bought a lot of pewter. It was so cheap. Then I bought tins. Then I bought old linens, some from France. I have a lot of collections.

Soon as he opened the back it was obvious that that stamp was not anything that looked 1800s ,my dad had a antique shop and stamps are easy to look up ⬆️ in books and 25 yrs online really 🎉
