9F 92134 was brought off Grosmont shed and coupled to the Pullman dining set. It sat ready for the afternoon service, then taking back off and put onto a Pickering service.

Allows the guard to complete the brake test and to start heating the stock before it takes its booked service. The Diner Loco will arrive on a service from pickering later.

Can't do the brake test if an engine swop is happening. Pre-heating , can , however be done. Brake test would need re-doing once the train engine is on.

@@pebsymax9113As a driver with over 40 years in , I think I may know what I'm saying ! If that 9F was coupled , then things change and it uncouples, your brake test is kaput, needs doing again when next engine ties on. That is hoe I read the situation.

@@haroldhorseposture9435 that would be down to your rules and regs, we generally only complete a full braketest at the start of the day or if the formation changes. Loco changes or running around we just lift the setter and observe the fall on the gauge as long as the formation hasn't changed.

It never coupled to the diner it waited in the platform for the 25 to arrive from Whitby and then uncouple and run into p2 when there the 9f can replace the rat

It did couple up, including pipes
