It's mad that one of the poorest counties has high house prices, the only reason for this is a lack of supply to meet demand. Corwall should be full of holiday villas and condominiums like other tourist spots around the world. Not to mention year round attractions like theme parks and golf courses and the road and rail infrastructure to serve them. It is bonkers that Universal is building a theme park in the tourist hotspot of Northampton. Cornwall's greatest enemy is Cornwall. You need to make Cornwall an attractive place for all kinds of business investment. You want to get second home owners IN, NOT force them out! You need to build that houses they want then use the extra tax revenue to build affordable houses for locals.

Mind blowing video waooo

It's unrealistic for under 30's to expect to own a house in a low wage holiday area unless privileged. You have to develop valuable skills when young and maybe move in order to accumulate the money to buy before 30years of age. It's unfortunate but it's what those of us starting with no capital have always had to do. No PPE degrees please. Get a stem degree and start fairly low down and you WILL have your house by 30.

I think we *should* force second home owners out and give the homes to the people without. Tax increases only impact the poor. The new builds are cheaply built, ugly, and falling apart. We need to take back our empty buildings.
