I’m glad I found your channel.I was watching a video of Thelma and saw a bunch of jewelry you sent to her. They were amazing,as is those in this video.Beautiful stunning pieces.
I am going to have to start watching your videos in the tub or a pool. Drooling to excess here. What stunning pieces!!! Your best brooch is just quality and beauty maximized. It has to be made by a master jeweler. Sad the beautiful rose quartz is plastic. Love the stone bracelets. And the Monet necklaces. And the jade butterfly. And all the silver. That long brooch is so pretty, and not heavy looking. The small scarf is a coat scarf. It was used to keep the inside collar on your coat clean. No more skin oil or hairspray to ruin the wool. I always wear some kind of scarf with my coats for the same reason, esp. the dry clean only ones. I need to find my tote bag of scarfs, I know I have some silk in there. So many projects, so little energy. Even less comfort to do anything.
Thank you again Jane!! And thank you for the scarf info. I love vintage scarves so much. Almost as much as I love jewelry. It’s hard to find good ones. This was a shot in the dark because it was a random lot and I didn’t really see any of them. But hey. I got a few good ones!!
Some great pieces, Leslie! I love the pink brooch and the short and long matched Monet necklaces. The unknown necklace looks like something from Free People. It's cute.
Thank you! It does remind me of a free people. This estate had a ton of jewelry from travels, so I don’t think it is… I will look into the mark and keep you posted! Hugs ❤️❤️
Rolled gold....Krementz used to put papers in new boxes that explained it. First a sheet of base metal is rolled flat. Then a sheet of gold is laid on top and rolled onto the base metal. Ivory vs bone. With a loop look at the material.. The bone will have growth pattern of straight lines with black specs which is where the blood vessels ran thru the bone. Ivory does not have a blood supply. The growth pattern is like crosshatching. Tic tac toe pattern close together. Hope that helps. I am not up on horn since I have not had any.
The silvertone necklace with the fabric is probably an older piece by Ayala Bar. She's a contemporary Israeli designer. Love the pink Austria brooch. Great haul!
So for the sliver pieces without marks, they would count as true antiques, as is is a more recent thing to put marks on jewellery. Also if real gemstone then it would always be set in a precious metal. :)
Many antiques may be stamped sterling or have the old numerical representation of gold marks, unless we get into things getting into 200 or so years old I think….i maybe wrong though. But I know many hand made pieces by small artisans were not stamped.
