Vetiver is my most worn and probably favorite note. It just goes so well in a professional office environment while still allowing you to express yourself artistically without offending people. My favorites are Nishane’s Sultan Vetiver and Masque Milano’s Homage to Hemingway.
I was just watching your old vetiver video with a perfumer. Lately vetiver has been a scent that has interested me. I have been ordering multiple samples of vetiver scents to add to my collection. Thanks for the options. Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉😊
The most masculine note for me. I love wearing it and my wife loves the smell on me. Thank you for another great video Sebastian. I'm going to try the L'Orchestre parfum Vetiver Overdrive. Sounds great for summer.
My favorite vetiver is Vetiverissimo from FZotic/Bruno Fazzolari. I love it because it brings out all the different facets of vetiver. It's fresh/soapy, but still has earthy and rooty touches. It's clean and bright, yet still has a dark and inky side. It also has that milky/creamy undercurrent running through it that you only get from real quality natural vetiver. Great stuff.
Loving the Tiger love! I recently sampled a bunch of Zoologist and I thought it was going to be a more incense dominated frag for some reason and was surprised by the woodiness. It feels powerful but also sleek and mysterious.
On men the green, fresh, dry earthy smell is better on men than on women. It gives it that maculinity However I'm all for unisex smells as with the more sweet floral fragrances more the feminine. I personally wouldn't be be able to pull those off on my skin.
We've shared our love of Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT before Sebastian. I wish I had money to get all these fragrances. Have a great day! Oh oh oh!!! I want a best of orris/powdery designer-budget/clone video!!! I need this video Sebastian!!!
Thank you so, so much Sebastian for an updated list on vetiver fragrances. Probably my second or third favorite fragrance note. And I'm out of my vetiver fragrances. I'm going to try 8 of them. My favorite vetiver fragrance is Hemingway by Masque Milano.
I started on vetiver with Dyptique’s Vetyverio and after that it became my signature note. I love it on almost every vetiver heavy/focused perfume I have ever tried. Most recently Mon Vetiver by Essential Parfums got me…wow amazing as well. Great video Sebastian!
Fantastic list, Sebastian! My favorite Vetiver is Incident Diplomatique. And Vetiver is my favorite note :). You are totally right about Parfum d'Empire, so underrated. I have Azemour from that house, and it's divine.
Hi Sebastian,I have a request! Can you deliver it? Top 5,10,20... Fragrances with carnation dominantly, focused offerings from different brands. I have been Passionate for a while now with Carnation and also Cloves in fragrances. I truly hope you do!
I’ve now been through two bottles of Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver., now discontinued. Yes, I’ve just tried their new intense vetiver, like it a lot. Carven was the first Vetiver I owned back in the ‘80’s.
My favorite vetiver is still Fat Electrician, maybe not the most sophisticated but I love how it smells, followed by Encre Noir A la Extreme. Need to try Zoologist Tiger, Encelade, Vetiver Boubon, Attendre & Esperer, Vetiver Ecarlate, Vetiver Sensuel and Secret Tryst, so many I don't know. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
Great vid Sebastian - as for fresh colognes, I’d love if you could do a vid on the John Varvatos Artisan line and flankers - any thoughts on any of them? Thanks 😊
Mr. Vetiver of Une Nuit Nomade, great you're mentioned it, just Georgeous alternative to the classics collection of vets! Did you find a certain Cinzano or Martini Bianco tone out of it? I certainly get during the whole life on the skin but specially sprayed on the strip! My opinion one of the best combined ingredients in this fragrance genre!😊
Vetiver Ecarlate is such a love for me- I get walnuts on the dry down that feels so comforting. Secret Tryst is a love too, but out of my price range 😢 Great video- thanks Sebastian!
Thanks Sebastian! Have you tried House of Bo? They came out with 3 new ones this year one of which is a green fragrance with vetiver, Oro Verde, I smelt it at Bergdorf recently and love it.
The one with tomato leaf and galbanum sounds stunning. Gotta check it out. thom Browne has a whole series of vetiver scents that are true standouts. My personal fav is cdg amazing green, it has a unique opening but dries down like a traditional vetiver.
Just pulled the trigger on NR Vetiver Musc! Was looking for an office safe fragrance. I just hope myself and others can pick up subtle whiffs of it throughout the day!
I’m not generally a fan of vetiver, but I always enjoy Sebastian’s videos! That being said, I do really enjoy Secret Tryst, maybe because there is more going on in that fragrance besides the vetiver. ❤
Top-notch list. Nobody talks about Parfums de Marly Byerley, but it's an excellent vetiver IMO...yet nobody ever talks about it. It would certainly make my best vetiver list if released between 2020-2024. Gonna have a check-out 2 or 3 on your list. Cheers.
Chanel's Sycomore EDP is my favorite vetiver. I also enjoy Masque Milano's (Homage to) Hemingway. I was just gifted a bottle of Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver Parfum. Looking forward to giving it a wear. Recently tried to smell the new Guerlain, but strangely/sadly the Guerlain boutique I was at did not have any of the new parfums.
Vetiver is 1 of my favs to wear and I’m totally ok with wearing male targeted frags. My recent vetiver frag wear is Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt. I haven’t heard you mention that one in a Vetiver video but wondered what you thought about it? I don’t get out much to sample scents at stores so my only chance is online buy and since I’m prefer great scent throw and longevity. So picking off websites I haven’t seen any that mention or show scale of strength in descriptions but also because I have very little experience with variety of scents to compare notes to. So these videos are my window to the world of fragrance n what to try. That’s why the mystery scent box always sounds right up my alley… but I again just missed the last one.😢 And cross my fingers n hope to get one next time.
I got the last Frapin Sebastian you sold me, I already have JACQUES FATH VETIVER GRIS. I am also looking at the L'orchestra Perfumes as well and am torn between Bee & Tiger. I have TF vetiver as well. Enclade is great too. Cheers Brutha and thanks! 😁😎
I’ve been looking for a vetiver fragrance to wear for formal occasions. I really think Tom ford parfum would work well. I like guerlain. I have the edp. But it doesn’t last long in my skin. I have to keep applying it while I’m out. But Which one is the best?
When someone mentions vetiver I immediately think “office” for some reason. As a note I neither hate it nor love it. I have a sample of Incident Diplomatique from Jovoy which I wore for the last few days.
Like vetiver, worn a lot, but I’m picky because I started to notice it goes sour on my skin. I need some amber or sweetness in the base or it’s no good. My three favs are older releases Audace - minimal - salty licorice vetiver tonka maybe. Touch of vanilla , Sel de Vetiver- very dry almost chemical but addictive with hidden layers, and Lunar vetiver - such a clean vetiver note - probably the most wearable niche vetiver available IMO.
Holy moly Sebastian how did Nerolia Vetiver Harvest slip past your radar?! I'm looking up Fragrantica as you go along! Love Guerlain and have to get some Allegorias
Without doubt vetiver is my favorite note. My favorite scent is Kenzo Air, what a shame Kenzo is not producing them anymore. Cartier's Vetiver Bleu is quite similar, but also production stopped. Is there any similar (licorice, vetiver, anise, slightly ozonic) scent ?
Sebastian, have you tried Misfit by Arquiste? It’s a really great vetiver fragrance. I’d love to hear what you think of it, or anything else from the house. I think they make some really interesting perfume.
Lol, my brain fog is so bad today. I thought I was clicking on a video for Verbena and I was so confused when he mentioned it as an earthy/woody/grassy note. I would love to see a video for Verbena. I loved Jo Malone’s Verbena body oil back in the day for layering. They discontinued that fragrance though.
Been meaning to do a Verbena video but not a lot of verbena fragrance choices out there. In the meantime you can catch this video on a verbena fragrance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XNw1Qy0G5iQ.html
My current favorite vetiver fragrances are Encre Noir (Lalique) and Lunar Vetiver (Amouroud). I also have samples from Vetiver Sensual and Mr. Vetiver. But haven't tried them yet.
Sytangely enough, when I tried the vetiver musc I was not getting any vetiver. It's probably because I'm not as familiar with the other iterations of vetiver from other perfumes but I expected it to be stronger or more focused on. It smells nice but I wasn't getting any performance out of it when I tried it. Vetiver Parfum is super good though and I am looking to get it in the near future.
@@ThePerfumeGuy thank you! He isn’t the type to go out and buy a fragrance for himself, but maybe he will wear it if I buy it for him. I like NR fragrances, and figure it might be a good place for him to start since they tend not to be super beast mode or anything. Plus, he has a hair product that has cardamom and vetiver, and we both enjoy the scent. I suspect that they would smell great together actually.
Vetiver is my favorite note. Haven't tried Vetiver Perfume yet, but my no one vetiver masterpiece is Vetiver Extreme by Guerlain. Followed by Elie Saab Essence Vetiver and Vetiver EDT by Guerlain.
I brought today incident diplomatique but I not know (blind buy)....i love patchouli mix patchouli. I hope enjoy this fragance. What your opinion the best jovoy creation?
Not a fan of vetiver, a little bit too earthy for my taste. I have recently purchased a bottle of lalique for men equus, and became instantly addicted. I dont know if it classifies as a vetiver frag, but i can totally feel it.
Yep it's vetiver but for me loads of the usual FB signature DNA notes in there as well so it kind of buries the vetiver for me unfortunately but otherwise it's a great scent! :)
Hi Sébastien, can you please do a video Adolfo domingues perfumes its a Spanish Designer house. I love their Vetiver terra and their other creations. Very lovely scents
It's sadly tough to get those fragrances. I have one from the brand it's 10 years old so might have turned by now but nowhere can I find them. Might have to do blind buys! :)
