I was told SIM card 7 is better that supports Verizon and visible and that's a newer one is that the same one because I don't want to buy the older one sim card for and have issues please let me know thank you

It's not that expensive I mean yeah it is expensive to a certain point but when you get everything that offers happiness it at the expense of two hundred bucks for something that will give you internet for your whole house. At $25 it's a no-brainer normal internet is like $50 or a lot more so you take your pick

I found a way for faster using the same router, take the paddle antennas off and but then outside on the roof and then use good low lost cables from the antennas to the router i was getting 15mps down and 5mps up! But with the new setup i get 55mps down and 25mps up now!!!!

For those watching who may not know. When running the Cell Band Scanner and you see your results keep in mind that (dBm) is your signal strenth. Band: B2 in this case was -96 (dBm) Diversity: -97 (dBm). The lower the negative number the better the signal. Depending on the Network being accessed 3G, 4G, ect. these numbers change. Obvsioulsy Visible is a 4G LTE network and having anything greater than -70 (e.g. -50) would provide a pretty reliable connection. Optimally higher than that would be considered an excellent connection. The same is true if you were trying to optimize your home Wifi using some type of Wifi analyzer.

So im a little confused. So you buy the Mofi router and hook it up. Got it. Then you buy a Visible sim card and with some finesse, you get 4g internet in your home. My question is how do you get the sim card without buying a phone?

Hi Cody, if you have a compatible phone (check their website) and activate sim as per their instructions, once activated put in Mofi. If you don't have a phone you will need to barrow a friends phone for a few minutes and activate sim. It won't harm or funk up the phone it will go back to their service with their sim like nothing happened.

This works! Had 5 devices on it last night, streaming netflex, wife playing your facebook game, one logged into the mofi, and one performing network speed. All with the MOFI setting on my dinning room table, in a house with metal siding and a metal roof... pulling speeds of 2mb to a max of 10mb, pings around 100. Putting a Yagi on it this weekend... very cool.. If it's not working for you make sure the gold side is up on your sim card... it will click in. Don't ask me how I know... with the proper antenna this would rock. Oh I have the 7.

Hi Bill, I have been thinking of purchasing a MOFI 4500 but before I do I have 2 questions. I ask because I have used my Visible SIM with both Verizon Mifi models AC791L and a 8800L also with a WiFi Repeater as well as from my Android Phones Hot Spot and USB Tethering. If I connect to one device I get Good speeds up to 60 Mbps Down and 20 Mbps Upload on that 1 Device however ALL of my other devices only get the 5 Mpbs Capped speed on my Download and Upload speeds 1. Can you tell me which MOFI 4500 Version you are using the SIM 4 or SIM 7? 2. What Download speeds do your other devices like your 2nd or 3rd Device get from the MOFI and is there a difference from the WiFI or Ethernet connection?

@@187LEO I have the SIM 4. Your second question- depends on the day I have gotten over 30 with my phone connected to my mofi. There are a lot of variables to consider.. The tower, the distance to and how the point of entry is pointed or setup. How your external antenna's pointed, what type of antennas, I'm running the parabolic and a yagi secondary. where I live it is very hilly so topology plays a part. So your mileage may very.. I purchased my Mofi direct from the manufacture, the first one was the sim 7, I returned it and purchased the sim 4 because I wanted aggregation. DO NOT throw away your box or anything in it if you are just testing Mofi will charge you if it is not returned the exact same way as it came. In closing if your looking for a guarantee that it will work for you as it has for me. Well you won't get that from me, your mileage may vary. Too many variables, all I know is this works for me.

Don't know why everyone is going threw all this hassle and expense. There's a couple of cheap, 40 to 60 bucks, wireless routers out there, RAV being one, that easily hooks up to a visible hot spot, on the phones you get from them. Allows you to connect several device's to your hot spot/modem phone, via the wireless router. Sim stays in the phone, so it only recognizes the one device, wireless router, connected to your hot spot, just as visible requires. My son and I each have a visible hot spot phone, with router. We live WAY out in the sticks, we average 110 ping, 17 down, 8 up, without any antennas. Data speeds on the phones are more then double that. Nearest tower is 3+ miles away. Beats the hell out of that satellite crap we were forced to use the first 2 years out here. ;-)

Unfortunately for me, I must use an external to get service and I am not way out in the sticks. I tried a couple KuWFI devices, but none of those better or even close to my ancient 7730L jetpack using my grandfathered unlimited plan. I am saving up for the MOFI.

Yeah. He even commented that he has 3 accounts and has to rotate them. Probably to avoid detection and cancellation. No way I'm wasting money on this risky venture. I'd rather just get a data only plan and ok it with the provider to not violate TOS.

@@CouchPotatoCafe well no matter what eventually cell phone routers are going to be the thing of the future because if you think about it most cities and states don't have a lot of providers, any more so in my city of Cincinnati Ohio we only have two providers that do internet for the most part and that's all they do So eventually cellphone routers like the mofo will be probably used more often and companies will be giving you internet service through the cell phone routers. But hey if it still works all use it thanks for everything will be updating soon

When I use my laptop to setup Mofi it gives me a warning not to use chrome. I am using Microsoft edge. Not sure how to change it or what to do.

You get the sim from Visible insert into phone to activate as per their website which has the phone number embedded once activated and every function is checked and working you then insert into router.

I have an AT&T Mobley mobile WiFi I've been using with no issues for 7 years now with no issues but being slow. I tried putting my unlocked ATT SIM in the MoFi and it doesn't have a place to put the unlock code. Can I unlock the SIM by putting it into my working Cell Phone I'm not going to use it in just to enter the unlock code?

Yes you should always activate in the phone prior to inserting into a router.

So are you still using this daily? I used a mofi for a couple years, but since built my own device. Was using a Sprint plan, that T-mobile is shutting off my grandfathered sim June 01, 2022. The replacement sim I got from T-mobile totally sucks, was looking for alternatives like Visable maybe?

@@the-papaw Check with friends for phones you can use to activate or even purchase a compatible used phone off ebay. Once the sim is activated you don't need the phone any longer just the numbers to use for the router.

Hey "Cafe"! I have the MOFI4500 The plan that came with it is "UbiFi". It used to be 89.00 mo. but they 'upgraded' and now it is $119.00 mo. So, HELP! Can I get a visible "physical" sim card then cancel UbiFi plan? Then just follow original setup instructions to MOFI and change a couple settings as per the "Cafe's" instructions and all will be beautiful and cheaper again?? :) The I can get visible plan for iPhones?

The problem is Visible is quickly finding out that the sim is not in the registered phone and will treat it like a hotspot so you will be limited to 5 dn. the only other better way is to watch the updated video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o7O5l8IBmrE.html

I’ve been using Visible on my MOFI5500 now for several months with no problems. I was getting 20-30mbs down, but lately I get throttled to 5mbs. If I switch TTL from Linux 65 to 64, I go back up to the higher speeds for a day but soon am throttled back to 5mbs. Repeat the process go from 64 to 65 and same thing happens. So Visible must be checking things. Any suggestions on another setting to change?

I dont understand anything going on here. Explain routers for dummies? I need internet in my new apt. I have att wireless unlimited data for $65 but 3gb of hotspot. So I can NOT watch TV. Just today i got gigabit connection 2.0 from verizon for $83. Will drop my att for a cheaper service but I dont know how these routers work. Is there a cheaper way to get internet and Im just missing it???

I just set up my visible in the mofi4500, it does bypass the slowed down speed. One question, is there a way to change the IMEI number of the MOFI? When I go to my account at visible and look at my devices, the MOFI4500 shows up. I’ll probably be shut down if not able to change the IMEI. Thanks

I have a MoFi 5500 and tried following your steps to get Visible to work but never could get internet at all. I activated the sim with a Google Pixel 3 phone but when I tried the sim in my router, Visible changed the registered device to MoFi and now it doesn’t work in either device, my router or phone. I know your video was recorded using a MOFI 4500 but shouldn’t it work in a 5500? TIA.

Hi Kevin, With any 3rd party router (not carrier owned) the sim it does need to be FULLY activated prior to inserting into router. So Yes to your question just activate it through the phone it was ordered on and then your ready. Note that your speeds will be limited now to 5 up and down unless the router has the same IMEI number.

You have to either order a cheap phone and activate the sim or if you have a phone to use so you can activate the sim. Once fully activated you can insert into routers and modems

And now visible is upgrading that i required to upgrade my SIM card I did only my cell phones that is no problem but this set up I have also visible sim with Mofi 4500 I haven’t updated yet Do u have any information about will work or not ??? … I just don’t want to lose this awesome set up what I have learned from u …. Hello, it has been hit and miss with many viewers, for example I have two Identical phones with the same firmware etc. one works and the other doesn't. I have been told since this is hurting verizon visible sales they are working on it, but unfortunately they use visible as a test lab on how to track those using this system for evil instead of good. Did the upgrade SIM yesterday afternoon, and no joy in my MOFI 4500 V2. Reverted to using my cell phone's hotspot (cell phone barely gets signal though due to distance to closest tower, and frankly it's VERY inconvenient to use the phone hotspot). There is some diagnostic firmware for the MOFI that I've heard will allow us to change the IMEI number of the MOFI.... I'm looking into that now. Arghhh!

Hi Jenna, yes the sim would need to be fully activated (everything works on it) first. The concern is that Visible has been doing sweeps and they know when it's in a router so the download speeds are capped at 5 dn

If it's a fully activated sim (don't assume) then insert it and use the new firmware wizard to choose with sim setup you need.

I still have one running, I use it every once in awhile but since they re-aligned the towers where I live my Visible service sucks. I went with the P5 router and ATT which is working great

The one you won’t be using you will be using if you want a better connection. It’s called Ethernet input.

@tonykeltsflorida I have a GLI net router and I use one Android to run everything. PS5, ring doorbell, fire TV, Samsung Tablet and a 2 laptops. Everything works good for $25 a month. I'm hotspot to the router and Ethernet from router to my PS5 and WiFi everything else. Works good! 💪🏾😎🤙🏾

Is there a way around the 5 Mbps speed cap? I have visible on my phone and get 80-120 Mbps down and 60-70 Mbps up. I’m only getting 5 up and 5 down on the mofi with a visible sim. I can tell it’s capped because the speed jumps up high at first then immediately goes back down to 5-6 Mbps. Is there a setting on the mofi that I am missing?

If it's in the MOFI it's the same as being in the phone but with a better connection but I am not sure why yours is doing that.

Hey Couch Potato THANKS for the video! I'm using a MOFI4500 V3 SIM 7 which for the most part has worked great until I had to do the Visible update. The new SIM works in my phone, but I cannot get the internet on my Mofi to work now. I have tried a couple of different resets with no luck. Any suggestions on how to get a MOFI4500 V3 SIM 7 to work on the updated Visible plan?

Ok so just completed the new Visible Required Update activating new SIM in my phone, rebooted the phone checked for functionality... could access data just fine. But, power the phone off and put SIM in Mofi4500 Sim4 and it no longer gets data. So guessing unless there is a way to get the MOFI to spoof IMEI number of a compatible phone this combo is toast. Arghhh! :-( So I will just have to use my phone hotspot for now till a workaround becomes available....

@@CouchPotatoCafe Well, after being on my "to-do" list for like a year I finally sat down ran a short internet cable from my primary workstation (which is Win7 Pro) to my Mofi4500 SIM2 V2 and backed-up the old no longer working config to my Desktop. I had already downloaded the Mofi4500 Diagnostic firmware and the final firmware version that Mofi had put out for the 4500 from their web site. I ejected the Visible sim card. I then followed the directions from the Mofi website for Flashing the Diagnostic firmware to my Mofi4500, it rebooted and I connected to it via wifi then went to it (it's IP address in IE11 web browser) and after logging in the Diagnostic firmware screen came up and it immediately requested a new IMEI number! So I put in the number for a compatible Visible smart phone (from that IMEI generator I think you mentioned in another video on making a non-compatible smart phone work with Visible network) and clicked Finish and waited (it's a LONG wait mind you).... after it rebooted with a Successfully Updated IMEI message I then reconnected to the Mofi thru the LAN cable again as per their instructions and reflashed it again to their latest and last firmware version and then waited for it to reboot again. After it rebooted, I again connected to it thru wifi and Restored my saved config back to it then waited for another reboot (takes a lot of patience to get this to work people!). Finally it's back up again, I disconnected the LAN cable and connected via wifi and logged in and checked and YES my IMEI number is that Visible compatible smart phone number so BIG WIN! I had to change the APN to "vzwinternet" and reboot it again.... then unplugged it and put the Visible sim card in and plugged it back in and waited while it booted up for last time (arghhhh!).... but it's WORKING! It's got service again finally!

@@CouchPotatoCafe There is Diagnostic Firmware for the MOFI 4500's that when flashed to them lets you change the IMEI number, and it actually works! It's a pain to flash firmware and I do not like doing that, but I finally made myself do it this weekend and it actually does work.

So will this not work with a Nighthawk or KuWfi? I have 2 Nighthawks and a KuWfi and I still can't do this... I tried to jump down in the early stages of data connect pass and have now wound up with nothing...my stepdaughter uses visible but I couldn't get it to work in the Nighthawk and KuWfi is GSM so I guess my nighthawk is carrier locked😭 maybe I should just sell all 3 and get the mofi 😭😭😭🤦

Like I said in the vid they knew it was in my M1 and canceled 3 times but the MOFI is just cruising so far. I keep telling people that the MOFI knock offs are not the same but I keep getting those that own them calling me names and saying that they are the same. I'm not against anything that works so maybe keep trying with what you have first.

Thanks for your reply... just frustrated that I bought all of this hardware and still paying 75$/month for wifi...hard to get over having stuff that I can't put to use but I see now there are mofis out there for less than they were and I couldn't swallow the 350$ upfront cost of the mofi so I tried the others... what makes the mofi better is the firmware it seems and unless you know enough to get the firmware installed on a cheaper device I think it's best to go with it until something better comes along... thanks for your videos!

My question is: Can I take out the Verizon sim card from my existing phone that I use daily, and replace the sim with a Visible sim to activate it, then put my regular sim back in? Then use the Visible sim in the mofi? Will I lose data in my phone from doing that? I don't want to buy a phone just for activation if I can help it. Thank you!

Yes, it does actually. But you have to change your IMEI number to a Visible compatible cell phone IMEI number and also change the APN to "vzwinternet". It takes a bit to do flashing the Diagnostic firmware to change the IMEI number then flashing back to the latest firmware then making the APN change (with long reboots between each step), but yes the darn thing really does still work with Visible friends. I'm using my MOFI 4500 SIM4 model to post this comment right... NOW!

You probably have the sim7 but be sure the firmware is up to date and go through the setup wizard instead which should have all the newest carriers to choose from. This makes for a lot easier set up now that mofi took our advice

At this time in my area we switch away from T-mobile, had them for about 2 years and couldn't take it anymore. we had terrible service anywhere I went in town too. AT&T was very good here and I am still rocking Visible

You will need to activate the sim card in a phone prior to inserting into a router. That's all you need the phone for so if you don't have one then barrow

Well for awhile but all the systems are getting much smarter and they are looking for the ones that are doing this so you would need to make the router look as if it were the device you signed up with. IMEI and TTL to 64. facebook.com/groups/imeimagic may be of help for the mofi @@TheWanderingGuru

UPDATE: Every since I changed from Band 13 to Band 2, I've had CONSISTENT 25+mps down and 20+mps up. BTW, I'm THRILLED with this! Just to remind people, when on Band 13, there were times where I was getting below 1 down and around 5 up. Even though it seems I get a stronger signal with Band 13, it wasn't producing much. Oh, and just so everyone knows, I've used between 65-70 gigs a month for the last 2 months. So far, I'm LOVING THIS MOFI THING! Thank you!

Band 13 is used by Verizon to provide long range connectivity in more rural areas where towers may be fewer and farther between. While the signal strength may remain higher in fringe areas on this band, the trade off is that the data speed will be quite slow. Other bands like 2, 5, and 66 are considerably faster (depending on network congestion) but the range is shorter.

Hi Mike, I'm in a bad position on this now since they pulled my best tower out so I am not getting the signal I was with Visible and now I fluctuate between 2 to 7 down so as far as being capped on hot spot it looks like I still go over 5 dn

Here's a odd question. And I'm posting here because there is a lot of good info and knowledge about the Mofi and Visible here. Does anyone know, or have they experienced, the 5G speeds Visible just started rolling out? Maybe I shouldn't assume, but will the Mofi actually pick up the 5G signal?

From what I'm told yes it will pick up 5G signal but speed maybe slower through the router but until I confirm it personally. Now as far as the speeds of Visible I have read they will be true 5G speeds.

Would I need to go online for tower cking, etc. at multiple stops. I RV full time and I am looking for better connection with Visible. I stay at a place typically a week. Does MOFI automatically pull for best tower reception? Looked at another vid from another Tuber, with Title being- "Travel with MOFI" and he doesn't even address it, only a pic of his motorhome.

Mofi pulls signal just like a cell phone does unless you do a band lock. You can use the website to fine the best tower where ever you are staying at www.cellmapper.net/

So I ordered visible to switch from the att on my mofi to visible as Verizon as has way better service. I tried visible on my phone and it showed 3-4 lte bars. Everything is activated I put it in the mofi followed the instructions and noticed that the internet light on the mofi did not come on. I have -80 signal and -7 signal quality. The mofi shows my carrier is and my phone number and that their is a sim. But still no internet

@@stormedmitchell Make sure the sim is secure in the slot and do a system reboot then make sure you have gone through the instructions word for word as I have had others that know everything and bypassed some procedures and couldn't get it to work until they reset the mofi and did it the way I did and then it worked. Also be sure to leave the sim in for at least an hour after. and one more is be sure that you do the band scan and choose the best band to lock in.

If your moving around a lot you can set to auto and see how it works and if you need a better signal then you can scan at that time.

I have been doing a lot of research on this SGM; and as a retired USA SFC, I do my due diligence! The best way to use it on the road is to scan for the best signal and lock in on the freq that gives you the fastest speed, if you have t mobile get a MoFi sim7 it has T-mobile's band 71 600 mhz, but several freq's will show up on each different cell tower, some will be fast in one location and slow in another, so you will want to reset it at each location, if you want fast internet. This will also help isolate aggregation to resist the modem from looking for other bands and wasting resources.

Just a quick shout out to Couch Potato Cafe and all you folks on here. I post and comment to other posts because this thread has helped me so much. I'm not a techie by any stretch, but I got the mofi running and it's been great since October. What I couldn't find out on this thread I then called mofi cust support and BAM! I was up and running! I'm only averaging about 75-80 gigs a month and my speeds (on band 2 btw) hover around 25-30mps down and around 20mps up. No gaming for me but I do a lot of LIVE videos and have had zero issues! I'm more than thrilled I get this for $25/month! I also have my cell phone with visible and average around 15-20 gigs a month on it. So far, everything is good! Thank you everyone!

@@CouchPotatoCafe yeah but that device the Rave power isn't it only able to connect 5 devices I mean at least if that's the case for me I wouldn't do it unless I lived by myself obviously I wouldn't mind one of them it's just to save money that's the whole purpose but let me know thank you I already felt figured out the Mofi issues I was having it was the stupid wizard the wizard has major issues and when you try to save you can't save it and it's sad the support did not tell me that it was The Wizard I had to have the guy that I bought it from help me set it up of all that and tell me what it's the wizard it's buggy I wouldn't have a problem but so far so good I haven't bought another line with visible yet until I figure out what I want to do one hundred percent but so far so good

Hey Boss Man, question for you, its Oct 2021 and curious if this setup is still working with Visible? if so i might go this route, it will be tricky for me to setup as we are Canadian and my parents are heading south for the winter finally. and we can't get a lock on the visible signel until they are in the USA meaning I'm not with them, but thinking that if they could get on the camp wif and i teamview into hem to setit up it might work.. anyway whats your thoughts as i was about to have dad pull the plug and get a nighthawkM1 but your saying that they shut your sim off.. so looking for a secure and no hassle connection.. any help[ would be great ! open to a call if you want. thanks in advance

Hey Wayne, hope you had a good weekend! Visible has really been hammering the routers out there and chances are you may not get more then 5mb speeds such as with the hotspots from the phone. Be sure that the sim has been activated fully prior to inserting into a router, otherwise everything works on the activating phone such as calls, text and internet. If this is the case then update the mofi firmware and after reboot use the wizard setup and choose Visible then it will take care of the rest. There was a listed updated video in the description too.

Visible wireless allows only 1 connected device at a time while using hotspot. This is using my old s8+ phone. Also, hot spot connection closes every so often even though settings in phone are set to always on. 2 questions... can more then one device connect using the mofi14500? Also. Is the connection always on through router? I'm thinking the s8 may have a hardware issue or that the sim is prioritizing hardware. Thanks for reading.

I bought everything the mofi 4500 external antennas and the visible phone plan and I cant get an internet connection. I put in my tmobile sim and it worked. How do I get the visible to work?

If you have done everything I showed in the video without skipping any steps and you are not able to connect please be sure the sim is activated and working in the phone first not just the internet but that it is activated and all functions are working prior to inserting back into router. If at that point it is not working call Mofi support to be sure the router is set up correctly.

I recently had my Ipad AT&T unlimited data plan canceled. Any updates on how the Visible is doing. Visible says they limit download to 5GB when using the phone as a hotspot. You seem to get a lot faster on your Mofi. Do you still recommend? Thanks

I've been running the att sim with success on the mofi 5500, but the visible has way faster speeds, I inserted the visible Sim and it doesn't get internet? I checked the Configuration menu and it switched it to the Verizon APN settings with a 65TTL and it's not working? Am I missing something?

Are you absolutely sure the Visible sim was activated fully through the designated phone first prior to inserting in router? I say this because some think it's activated because it gets internet through their app on the phone but that is for activation only. Next do a reset on the mofi and choose setup wizard in the menu and choose visible there and it will put most info in the setup for you.

If you use any product that is not included within their policy then they have a right to cancel service so no telling if they will or won't. I have been running the MOFI for years without a problem. Real Debrid is a service that will look for the movie, tv show links and download through their servers. I Love it i get more scrapes and amazing speeds you can get it here - bit.ly/2UFrYmV

So many smartphone users either don't make phone calls, or make all their calls via phone apps, websites, video apps, and so forth that use data rather than minutes, that I don't think a lack of phone calls is likely to be how they try to figure out who is using a router versus a phone, or tethering versus a phone. Plus, phone calls are so old school.....

I been using T-Mobile for service I found it you change your TLL setting to 66 T-Mobile doesn’t turn off my service they think it is a phone it has been working non stop . I use it for whole home internet ,watch tv , runnig my alarm google home

@@CouchPotatoCafe yeah so I'm thinking I might have to get a two lines one for my phone and one for the internet but the Moto sounds awesome have you heard of the newest router somebody else was talking about it I think it's called the insta router it just came out it's going to come out with 5G in the summer supposed to be much better than this router but it's going to be about $1,000 if you haven't heard about it I can send you information I'm going to wait on that but if I can use this for my internet and I get at least like 50 megabytes I'd be happy

Not getting more than 5mbs up and down using visible in a mofi sim 7. Seems like they know it is being used as a hotspot so its being throttled down. Have ttl set to 65. When sim is in the phone the speeds were 50mbs and above and over 20mbs down. Visible states that hotspot data is limited to 5mbs and it seems like that is what is happening in the mofi for me. Have any suggestions as to why the speed is being limited? I have tested and locked the bands with same results.

I had this issue, but not every day. I found I was on Band 13, I switched to Band 2 and have been getting consistent speeds over 20 up and down.

@@TopFitnessStrategies Went thru all the bands. 2 was running the best but was still limited to under 5 up and down. The upload would jump when it started to 15 but throttle down under 5 every time. Most of the other bands were getting less than 2 up and down. When the sim is in Note 20 ultra its getting 30 down and 15 up. Butnof course when its used in hotspot from phone its getting 5mbs. It does the same in the mofi so Im assuming it is seeing the device as a hotspot. From my understand ttl set to 65 is supposed to bypass the throttling.

@@bryani.194 I have had the same issue. i havent done a speed test on my phone to test but i assume it will be the same outcome. I wonder if it has to do with having the sim 7? Have you tried any of the different ttl settings?

I realized my band lock watcher was off. If that is off it will not keep the lock you set for the sim 7. I locked it to 2 and am now getting 15-25 down.

Hi there, for some reason my Mofi does not detect my visible SIM card? I set everything up on my phone first, it all worked perfectly. To my knowledge, I’m using the correct SIM adapter for the size of my card, I even heard a click when inserting. But on my Internal Modem settings, it tells me no SIM card is installed or detected. I also can’t see the “Provider Settings” tab. Any ideas? THANK YOU!

Hi Jettie, DO another factory reset on the mofi and be sure the firmware is up to date next go through the built in setup wizard and it should have a Visible option now. The sim adapter should be the largest one and be sure you insert chip up and in the slot. ( I had a viewer pull their hair out trying to get it to see the card only to find out there is a small opening above the card slot it can go into) The Mofi 7 does not have the Provider tab.

Do you know how to make the download speeds much faster? Occasionally, I get as slow as 3 mbps and it's pretty slow. Are there any settings I can apply within the Mofi Router settings?

Depending on your area and if you are needing a better signal. I lived in one area where I had to put up Yagi's and by pass the closest tower to another one much further away and improved download speeds from 2.5 to 67

Alright... I'm at a loss. About to throw this thing in the trash. Honestly. The new mofi is V3. You cannot change the options like it shows in the video, but no matter what I do my Mofi is 1/10-1/5 of the speed that it should be. Visible runs on Verizon's towers, I get 50 to 100 megabit download speed on my Verizon phones. I'm lucky if I get 10 megabits on my Mofi. My Mofi is normally speeds from 1 megabit to 5 megabits. If I turn a VPN on the device I'm using it might get to 10 so that shows that it's not throttled. Seriously though this was a huge waste of $300 so far.

Contact MOFI they should be able to walk you through it if there is a problem with the unit, I had someone else say to reset the router to factory and re-enter per video and just by pass the Provider Selector part as that is an option anyways.

@@CouchPotatoCafe did contact them the first day that I got it. They walked me through setting it up which was doing exactly what I had already done. but, there is literally no way to enter the information from the video. Some of the options that you hand typed, autofill and are not able to be edited. For instance, you don't select Verizon anymore as the carrier, you select visible, after that it automatically fills in the APN. Thankfully it works consistently now, it's just much slower than the Verizon on my phones.
