When I would hang out with Venus, especially when we would leave a club like the Paradise Garage, she got a kick, making people gag by butching up her voice and talking like a man. It was hilarious as she would start saying, "My name is Venus with a penis." 🤣🤣🤣 Oh, the laughs we had with Venus were just great. I miss her dearly. I think, given the location of the crime, a self hating transphobic John was much more likely. The fact that young gay “throwaway” children are forced by a need to survive into becoming rent boys even today is a shame for our society. Any parent who tosses their child or makes their life so unbearable because the child doesn’t meet their expectations that life on the streets is preferable, is the lowest thing possible! I think the religious types have a surprise coming at their pearly gates.

We were all so saddened and devastated when we heard about Venus murder. The horrible thing was that back then, the police department really didn't care what happened to the gay community. Many of them hated us, ❤and they let it be known. Venus would be so flattered to know her memory is still living in a very strong way and that her home was given landmark status. Talk about being paid Homage, too. Venus would be ecstatic. What a sweetheart she was, and it was so much fun to have Venus around. She is greatly missed.
