UP-BADGING your Charger ScatPack 392 or Hellcat Charger is a MAJOR PROBLEM... Right?🤔 

That’s the beautiful thing about owning a charger/challenger…you can modify it anyway you like. I have a charger sxt but I’ve lowered it, added the rear shark diffuser with 5 inch tips, I have 1.5 inch spacers giving it an aggressive stance, tinted windows etc! My v6 looks like a Scatpack!

It bothers me when RT's are upbadging to Scat Packs and HellCats smh

As a 5.0 owner, we are definitely calling out ecoboost owners. We even call out 5.0s that call them GT350s.

Just stumbled across this after getting hit and totaling my 392. And my perspective has completely changed on this. I really don’t care anymore what the next person does with their car. lol i’m more likely to question the guy taking it too seriously; rather than the guy that’s “up badging”.

The Scatpack’s are SRT Models!!!! The factory changed the SRT nameplate to the Scatpack emblem to increase sales and play on the Nastalgia aspect.

Simple answer to a simple problem. Bring your window sticker. What it says is what it is

Glad I have an 2014 SRT8 392. I call mines and SRT and they have no problem because I have the badge.

I bought a SRT8 2012 Super Bee brand new traded in for a 2023 Scat at the beginning of the year I have more HP now and went from a 5 speed transmission to a 8. So I definitely upgraded

Unfortunately people only care about STATUS… The status symbol is too important to some people and are intimidated by badges being on something other than their car that they paid extra money for just badging!!!!

What people do with their own car is their business. I don't fixate on what they do. As for myself, I'm proud to have my scat with the scat badges, because my previous vehicle was a V6 Challenger.

I own a 2015 Hellcat. If I modified it up to 800 HP I'd feel like a pretender if I put Red Eye badges on it. I wouldn't do it. Scats compared to SRT is a close argument so idk.

The only Daytona wide body is the 50th anniversary. It’s baby blue with the white Daytona stripe.

I don’t really care about up-badging. I have a regular Hellcat but I refuse to get the Read eye hood because I see that as up-badging… I’d rather just mod my car internally… However, don’t go out here up-badging without performance upgrades & get your ass kicked.. because when you up-badge. You represent for that particular trim of that car.. you got sxt dudes with HC badge’s getting their ass kicked by some damn stock Honda Accord… then I gotta go out here & put these little fools in their place because of some up-badger 😂😂😂

I also have the software that unlocked the performance pages, paddle shifters and much more! My belief is that they are all srt’s

Upbadging just makes you a poser. Plain and simple. You bought the car as that. Be happy with what you bought. No need to pose or fake that funk.

The whole "SRT Up-Bdging" stems from the time where SRT, itself, was sold as a trim - Back when people with V6s and 5.7s would put SRT or Super Bee badges and decals on their cars. Today, things are different. Scats, Daytonas, Hellcats, and Demons are all "Powered by SRT." So the actual trims remain unique. If you up-badge the trim, that's when it gets a little ugly...especially if you don't mod the car to actually meet the same specs as the trim. If I have a Scat Pack, and I put a Hellcat badge on it, that's when it's wrong.

Just made the jump from a 2017 awd charger to a Daytona rt and I love it. I know the rt is considered one of the slower muscle cars these days, but the speed and sound are so perfect for me. Up badging is funny to me, but I don’t get why people get butthurt by it. Fake it til you make it 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️ Oh just wanna say I would never up badge cause you ain’t bout to clown me, but I also wouldn’t expose someone for it cause idc too.

Scat Packs are in the R/T family they have been since 1968. Even when they reintroduced them in 2015 they came with R/T badges. Scat Packs aren't SRT's and no Daytonas are not Scat Packs. Dodge out here confusing y'all but I'm always refer to each trims history/lineage.

I think the SRT suspension was different than the scat. And the SRT motor decal says SRT, the scats says Powered by SRT. That's just a few things etc....

OK…….good video. Full disclosure: I had a 2017 Charger Daytona 392, traded that in for a 2020 Charger Scat Pack Widebody. I think there are two issues at hand here. First, and i think a lot of people dont realize, when the Scat Pack first came out in 2015 the SRT 392 was still being sold, with the same body and engine. Only difference was a couple of options such as leather seats standard on the SRT 392. If i’m not mistaken this was done intentionally so that people could be essentially the same car BUT as a NON-performance model, thus lower insurance profile. When I compared insurance quotes between the SRT 392 and Scat Pack in 2015, the Scat Pack was lower because it was NOT considered a “performance/sports car” model. This made the Scat Pack widely popular and they dropped the SRT 392 altogether. Second, the upbadging, yes…our cars have the same engine …been if you swap the super charger to a bigger one and now have Red Eye power. What matters is the VIN and the description of the car tied to it. I can get a Scar Pack and add an super charger and whatever upgrades I want to get it past 800HP, but when I want to sell this car or it gets totaled and insurance is going to pay out…all that matters is the VIN and the description tied to it. Upbadging doesn’t bother me unless you’re jumping engines…..a SXT with a V6 should not upbadge to a Scat Pack or any SRT. Just me thoughts….lemme know if anybody had the same experience with insurance if they compared .

it bothers me i seen a guy that has a challenger rt and its been in his driveway and i got a charger scat and he took the hemi off the sides and put scat ones on the sides and even the rear spoiler i was so ashamed of him

The answer is no across the board. The Chevy Camaro SS and the Chevy Camaro LT1 had the same engine in 2020, but no one up badges the LT1 to a SS! So again, it’s no across the board.

I'm assuming the reason they discontinued the SRT It's because it should not have been there in the 1st place. As we all know SRT stands for street racing technology it should have never been a simple model designation in the 1st place It was meant to signify dodges performance lines.

I have a 2016 SRT392. But I absolutely love the badging on Scats however. I don’t call my SRT a Scat though, or badge it that way because that’s not what it says on the window sticker. Do what you please, indeed. I wont call anyone out but will correct if someone calls my car the wrong model. I think if someone wanted an SRT, they should’ve bought one. If a Scat, they should’ve bought one. If a Hellcat, Demon etc…the same. The new Scats have SRT configs, granted. And replaced the SRT…but now our SRT 392’s are getting older…let us have our place in Challenger history, and Scats, take yours and be proud of it too! 😊

I personally agree with the Scatpack/SRT up-badging and the Hellcat being up-badged to the red eye as long as it is boosted. So basically I do not care as long and the V6’s are not being up-badged!!!!

If you run that vin and it says R/T scat pack then it’s an R/T brother. If you run that vin and it says SRT then it’s an SRT. Point blank. It’s literally what Dodge intended for it to be called. If you wanted an SRT trim then you should have bought one. NEVER UPBADGE

I personally don't feel any need to upbadge my car. It's a Scat, and I'm happy with it. What other people do with their cars, I could care less about. I don't know why people get all bent out of shape about people upbadging or doing whatever .. just worry about your property who give a shit about theirs.

My scat has 1000 hp to wheels heavily modded of course but it's a Scatpack baby!! Some people call it the SMACKPACK.

up badging is truly only a problem if they try to sell the car on the used car market as the higher tier car. I understand these cars are very expensive so you go with what you can afford and then do what makes you happy. Just don't lie when someone asks and definitely don't lie when you chose to sell the car afterwards

Tbh I have a scat with a hellcat front fascia conversion...BUT...I run all my scat badges and stripe with an rt hood. If people inquire, I let them know it's a scat all day. If anyone insists up-badging, Dodge Direct Connection sells the hellcat front fascia as a conversion kit for the scats. That also goes for widebody options. I think where up-badging goes wrong is when you claim to have something for trade or sale and you intentionally lie to defraud someone.

if you have a scat daytona, Srt or whatever at the end of the day we all mopar and have the same engine and HP if you want to put srt on your scat or daytona do what makes you happy it’s your car at the end of the day.

Up badging is corny no matter what car you drive. You got V6 guys putting Shelby badges, SRT badges, ZR1 badges on their cars. Love your car. Accept it for what it is. I drive a Mustang GT. I’m not ever putting Cobra/Shelby badges on my car.

Daytona is NOT a trim. It’s a package, like a plus group package. No such things as a Daytona trim. It’s only an appearance package, nothing special.

SRT is the division of dodge that makes the performance vehicles from dodge. 392 Scats Daytona (392) Hellcats and some of the performance suvs. Go look for yourself. Knockout 360 keep up the great content brodie. Us scat owners gotta get our respect 🫡 😂

I’m not a fan of up badging because I feel like people should be happy with what they got plus I pay for my scat and I’m happy with it I would rather upgrade my performance and take someone to gapple bees and make them scratch their head wondering how a scat did them like that just saying

NOTE: Pretty much everything that was standard on the 392 SRT and the Daytona are options on the Scat Pack. And if you get all those options, Scats aren't "the cheapest." We ain't the bottom of nothin'. A fully-loaded 2023 WB Scat Pack cost more and has more bells and whistles and fewer miles than a 392 SRT (that was last made in 2018 - 5 years prior).

I have a 2022 scat pack shaker edition with all the SRT items you mentioned with 392Hemi on shaker, SRT spoiler with no badge, leather seats, Harmon stereo, etc. Some stole the bee off the left fender. At dealer before purchase,new. They sent me another but I am actually debating on not replacing and and removing the only bee on the car. Thoughts?

Overall, I think upbadging is silly. That said, I'm a fan of trims that never existed. For example, I have a 2018 Volt Premium with black bow ties and wheels and a few very subtle mods. I put RS badges in locations GM would have utilized to make a Volt RS. It looks factory but Chevy never offered one.

A scat pack is not a SRT just because it says SRT doesn’t mean it’s an SRT it’s already been proven by the higher ups in Dodge even the CEO himself said that unfortunately that 392s in scat packs are not considered SRTs because of the engine performance, and because of the horsepower plays a huge role

Coming from some one who just got a “Daytona” that’s B5 blue. My buddies say it looks like a regular R/T. Honestly I like it better that way cause it’s less likely to get stolen. You see my car and your like oh it’s just a R/T, if I never saw this video I would never have known that people actually care about the name 😂. I wanted a car with a 392 engine or hellcat if I could afford it. I would have loved to get a widebody or even a hellcat. I even had the option to get a widebody but I wanted my car to be fully loaded and I love it. Only thing is I need to lift my car barely had it a month and I’ve scratched the hell out of my front bumper and under carriage. And I break a lot.
