Fuel Bladder for your upcoming trip? Maybe, maybe not, depending on the range of your bikes. I rode a trip last summer just over 6000 miles. I left Denver, CO and rode to the Black Hills of S.D. then west across Wyoming into Montana over the Bear Tooth and up to Glacier. Then west across the Idaho panhandle through the Cascades to the Washington Peninsula and down the coast to San Diego. From there to Phoenix and back through New Mexico and Western Colorado to Denver. I say all of that, to say the only time I ever worried about fuel was the leg from Yuma, AZ to Phoenix. I didn't run out of fuel, but I was watching it closely and beginning to get a bit worried about it. I've also driven I-40 from Albuquerque to Pheonix many times and have never worried about fuel along the interstate. All of that said, I ride a 2018 Goldwing and get about 42 miles per gallon and have a 5.5 gallon tank. I saw and met a lot of HD riders along the way and nobody ever voiced concerns about fuel, except that leg from Yuma to Phoenix where I don't think I ever saw another bike and not a lot of cars/trucks. Take it for what it's worth, hopefully it might give you some insight. I wish You and Mike good luck and safe and happy riding on your trip. JJ

Very cool video, thank you, Meg! Keep in mind that the weather out west here has been smoking hot, so prepare accordingly if you & Cameraman Mike are riding this way. Bring lots of water, especially if you come here to AZ! Lauren's little pupper dog is cool, especially riding on the bike with her. Also, the photo shoot footage was an interesting part, and thanks again for sharing it with all of us. Be safe in your travels, and keep the shiny side up! 😎

Hi Megan and Mike. When I rode to California I took. Fix a flat slime tire plug kit tire pump.and small cylinders with air that screws over tire valve.also extra tireValves . Small case of tire irons.wrenches that fit wheels.extra fuses. Small amount of black and red wires .wire stripper.i tented and did the koa 's .freeze dried food .etc.and extra gas in two small cylinders. Sounds like alot but I made it fit. If you get a flat with out the repair kit .not good.if this helps good. If you already thought of these things. Oh yeah flashlights.Have a safe trip Rich.

They don't care if its 115 in the desert or snowing at 12k feet at a Colo picture stop...and you bite the end open, drink, and instant energy. Takes up little room. Have fun!

You don’t need a fuel bladder! I rode all over the Southwest, Rocky Mts, Black Hills in 1978 on a Yamaha 750 with a 4.9 gal tank. One time I almost ran out of gas when I assumed Four Corners had a gas station.

I have 4 battery tendors .. 2 on snowmobiles and two on street bikes permanently .. Every time I park the bikes I hook them up for the most part.. My 2006 Yamaha Attack Snowmobile still has the original battery in it .

Great photo shoot. Was that Savage Mill? Have a terrific trip riding across the continent. I was in Wyoming and South Dakota in mid June and it was cold at night. I think it's warmer there now. Arizona is brutally 🔥 🥵, Northern Arizona has better weather up by Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. Take dry gas and a tire repair kit and a portable air compressor. Also a tool kit. Hopefully you won't need them. Have a wonderful journey exploring different roads.😊😊

Hi Meg! Regarding what gear to pack for the cross country trip. I'd suggest be prepared to ride in all the different extremes. Definitely pack your heated jacket liner and some cold weather base layer Under Armor type leggings and long sleeve top. As I"m sure you know the further away from the equator and north your travels take you the more likely you will encounter a drastic drop in temperature. And vics versa. Also would suggest a lite cotton loose fitting long-sleeved shirt for those extremely hot days while riding to provide some sun protection. Pack sun screen. A scarf soaked in cold ice water and worn around your neck or under your helmet or both can be very refreshing while riding extreme hot days. Almost like turning on the AC. Stay hydrated and eat at least one banana everyday for potassium to avoid cramping. Hopefully this helps. And let me know if can offer any more advice from previous experience. Ride safe ride often and keep motovlogging. Glen

Where are you two riding to, in Arizona, on your Sturgis trip? - I'm Carroll County raised / Phoenix life (20 years) If you're going to the Grand Canyon, go to the North Rim. Fewer people. It's a much better experience. Ask about the employee bar/clubhouse :)

You most def need to bring a small jump box! to jump your bike! I have one its called a Type - S . USB chargeable. I have started huge trucks with it yet its super small and PERFECT for the ride. It comes in a case a tad bit bigger than a case you use for sunglasses to carry. LoL... But DEF need that! OF course I would bring a set of spark plugs just to be safe as well. Plus duct tape.. You just never know and it always works wonders for many things.. Haha.

seen some good info to take, like to add each of ya have a camelbak (sure camera man knows what talking about since was in military) for hydration, get ones with large fill opening so can put ice into keep cool/cold water or sport drink, set up on top of pack, hose over shoulder and can drink between stops for fuel rather stopping for fuel then try drink down only have to stop shortly after for bathroom, this is really something if going to be in the 100+ temps. other would be Love Jugs, probably seen Amsoil Adam at some of the rally's, huge difference for the desert or hot mainly the stop and go traffic/city lights intersections. if ya should make the vegas area, let me know would love for ya stay at my BnB a night or 2!

One other comment...people who give you "schtuff" over taking Lucy are just miserable people. They don't realize that there are specific motorcycle carriers that help keep Lucy in and with the "doggles" her eyes are protected. Why couldn't she go? Haters...

Reason I ask I have a 2024 Heritage Classic and my dealership here in Minnesota says I can't run bags with that sissy bar I have to choose one or the other but it seemed to me the way it hooks up one can have it all including a dog kennel😅 That's cool 😎

Back in the day there was a young women called Marla, she wrote about her adventures for a motorcycle magazine called SuperCycle, you could probably Google this, anyway her dog went with her to every event all over the country, it can be done but with added responsibility of course, unfortunately Marla died doing the thing she loved best, riding her motorcycle, may people exist but few people live, a lesson to us all

You don't need extra fuel....we live in a land where anywhere you ride there will be a gas station.....I made the mistake and then realized all I did was transport more weight around with all my other crap I was lugging......you both have 5gallon + tanks......if you were on an old sportster or chopper with a 2 gallon tank then yes its worth having the insurance......just my 2cents
