Up-close Detailed Look At A Grove GMK 6300L Crane Hauled By Performance Transport TFK 2017

Here is a detailed look at a Grove GMK 6300L 6-axle crane as it sat on a 9-axle Murray trailer. Right next to the crane, which is owned by Western Pacific Crane & Equipment, was a huge Hyundai 250D-9 heavy duty forklift owned by Scott Equipment. Both of these oversize loads were on display by Performance Transport of Bloomington, California and hauled by Peterbilt 367's. This was shot at the Truckin' For Kids Truck Show in Irwindale, California of Saturday October 7th., 2017.

i remember this from the show. it sucks no show this year because of covid! that is one of my favorite truck shows.

Thank you for watching my videos...I'm glad you enjoy them, but as for Facebook, I am not a FB member nor do I plan to be anytime soon. RU-vid is the only social media that I participate in. My other commenter on this and quite a few of my other videos, Lewie McNeely, is also an Army vet with maybe a similar background to yours. Maybe you and him should talk and trade old Army and heavy equipment stories. He seems like a cool guy with a ton of cool stories from his time.

Think of it as hinge point to allow movement from the torsion. The truck and trailer aren't always traveling on the same horizontal axis, those rear stinger axles need to be able to move a few degrees to prevent damage to the trailer.

You did GOOD, Scotty! When I was in the Army I had the chance to play with a 250 ton P&H lattice boom truck crane on a stevedore project. That was in 72. The carrier had a V-12 Cummins with an Allison automatic and a 4-speed auxiliary. I think the crane had a 400 or 450 Cummins 6-banger. 150 foot boom and smooth as silk. Rented from Hoffman out of Belleville, New Jersey. One on land and one on a boat anchored out in the Chesapeake Bay. After I got out away from Uncle Sammy a 30-B and a Model-6 was as big as it got for me but a lot of smaller draglines paid the bills. Thanks for a FINE tour. That was a C R A N E !

I've been blessed to do exactly what I always wanted to do all my life so far which was play with anything that had a motor on it. I got my 1st construction job right out of reform school pulling a sheepsfoot roller on a road job. Then came the Army and 5-tons and deuce-and-a- halfs and the cranes with clam buckets and then a 7-E and then a free man and everything I could find! I'm 67 and still wild about it. Still trying to SQUEEZE the juice out of every day! Maybe do some trackhoeing next week. They'll have to pry me off of one when my time comes! C U, Pal!

That is similar to the one I operate on my channel. The Grove 6300 is 6 axles, 300 ton capacity. I operate a 5 axle, 200 ton capacity Tadano in my videos. Grove builds some nice equipment.
