The Union Pacific Fresno Subdivison is part of the former Southern Pacific San Joaquin Division and runs from Sacramento to Bakersfield. Union Pacific uses this line as a main artery for north and south freight traffic between Los Angeles, and the Pacific Northwest. Amtrak's San Joaquin service runs to Bakersfield from Sacramento, and runs 4 trains daily. BNSF also runs over this line on trackage rights with a regular Stockton to Provo manifest as well as the Sacramento Local.
