I had the same idea. I used a bit longer piece of 2x2 stock though to keep the tools further away from my tailgate but I bought mine, not something I had in my scrap pile. I welded it at the end like you did but haven't used it yet. I am already thinking I should have welded it 6-8 inches in from the end so the tire will lay flat on there. Have you used yours like this yet? Any issues?
@@georgeskentuckyworkshop1420 I used mine finally, worked as advertised. Put 2 new tires on my mower. 2nd one was easier than the first one but no real problems anyway. Soap is your friend on that job.
@@x-man5056 much better then tire spoons and screwdrivers I used for years, I fix more tires, tubes and replacing then when I had a lawn Care service yes ago, 2-3 wk now, the one I have welded on my welding table is much lower then my shop set up, but I don't really have a favorite, it's more like which space is clear to use or is it raining or cold out😎
