I saw it in the 80s and forgot about it. A few years ago, I remembered and did Google and You Tube but nothing. Now I have plenty. I must share such great sick comedy.
I used to watch Up Pompeii! on Channel 28, KCET , Los Angeles in the early 1980s. It was recommended to me by Canadian friends. I thought it was a funny show , and more adult than US situation comedies of the time.
I was born after this time and have NEVER heard of this comedy until tonight. Should I start with this ep? The first ep? I see lots of eps are uploaded. I will give this one a go. I am a few minutes in and i have laughed already :)

Gotta agree. I literally just discovered this show, but this episode is where the mere four months between series one premiering and series two hitting the air shows the frantic rushing going on to get the damn thing out. Plus, I have to assume William Rushton wasn't available, because I'm really missing Plautus in series 2. But, damn, Frankie Howerd is amazing at making you think there's a full audience. The man was a master of the aside.
