I don't understand why someone speak on 'fundamentals, Unfornate to comment on 'facial expressions' and the like. Only a 'gyana soonyam' will ignore his indepth knowledge and melodious expressions and the very fact that he sings through his soul!
Furthermore, it is unfair to compare one singer to the other, TM Krishna, is a genius in his own right, so let us enjoy each krithi, in its own right, and avoid innanities.
I believe that one must focus only on the krithi and emotic content that it has to convey! And TM Krishna is doing a wonderful job in conveying that! So let's stop passing vile comments and enjoy the music!
TM Krishna is meant for Thyagaraja Kritis. He is a wellknown carnatic musician of days. He went to all countries in the World for music performance. I heard his melodious voice in Cleveland. Thanks
Muthaana thani! Really a cultured pearl of a solo performance by Sri Sivaraman! And the muthaippu ... wow!! Nice to see Srimushnam Sri Raja Rao sitting next to UKS and enjoying the performance ... so cool.
Charanam : 1. O Lord, You are the Puppeteer of the Grand Show of Deceipt! O Lord rAma who bestows the desired results! O Lord! You deserve an unalloyed golden umbrella studded with abundant precious stones; please accept my service (with an ordinary umbrella which is all that I could afford).
A soulful rendition. It is foolish to comment on facial expression or anything because this performance seems to be one of his best. This must be a performance made 10 years back. I am sure TMK can not sing like this again because his soul is searching for something else other than music. When the “I” rules, nothing good can come out of it.
A great legend in UKS who can switch from relaxed accompaniment using play of nadham only where necessary; immediately onto more active accompaniment of the piece using brisk, definitive sollus that mark the "edam" of the keerthanai
thks a lot TM is great in spite of amnnerisms and oh's. thks for close up and nice vdeo of sivaraman; imagine i saw him when he was 19y or so playing in perambur sang sabha just the day before his law exam for semmangudi? paris sury
This krithi is very hard to sing, thus there are are a few singers who can do justice toBhairavi. Let those who pass comments, feel sorry and apologize to TM Krishna!
The only thing I think is th problem here is that he is too loud for an amplified concert. If he had no microphone, and were singing in a stone mandapam, I could understand the reason to sing so loudly. Indeed, Bhairavi has to fierce, but one could be fierce at a lower volume too.
venkat Raman S. Sir idhu Baagavadha sampradhaaya keerthanangal, enru Saint Thiyagraja SWAMIGAL EZHUTHI iruppadhal, thanpeyarai pottukollavillay.indha,Bairavi krithium, sampradhaaya naamasangeerthana kriti.so,Saint don't said his name.
@CaliforniaBear1971 work on you're fundamentals he as amazing if I could say something it would be that you are just jealous because you are unable to do that.
okay singing but no breath control for a celebrity singer . I have had the good fortune of listening the likes of Maharajapuram Santhanam which is out of the world.
though iam an ardent fan of Carnatic music, my knowledge of its grammar is an absolute zero. But my emotions get the better of me. This is one such rendition. somebody has commented about the bhakti and bhava in this concert. quite true, sir
Mr Goundamani Please do not pass such third rate comments in this forum Keep it only for amongst rasikas of 4th grade Tamil film like you and obviously your favourite Goundamani type comedies You are a misfit to even spell Bhairavi leave alone comment about it
The Bhairavi is fine. But I can live without the condescending aah! and oh! and so can UKS. Besides good music, good manners are also required of artists. -m
@CaliforniaBear1971 um........ sorry for replying to your response after a long time.honestly tm.krishna is amazing.are you the worst critic ever? [ no offence ]its his way of singing.shruthi will not be perfect for any singer.it will surely go off.and nasal voice? dude seriously.....can you sing better than him? if you want to find faults with him search for his best song and try to find them. PS: i am learning carnatic music.so i can tell i know a thing or two about it.
Meaning Pallavi : O Lord reclining on SESha (King of serpents)! O Lord! Please accept my services. Anupallavi : O Lord who wears garments resembling a crore flashes of lightning! O Consort of jAnakI! kindly accept my services.
What a foolish comment! If you have anything substantive to say about my comment - be that an agreement or disagreement, please state it. And do learn to be more civil.
Look at the changes in carnatic music. We need not go too far behind to compare today's vocalists and vocalists of 60's & 70's.The quality is of singing is decreasing but money to vocalists/musicians are increasing.Particularly this vocalist sings with stress and strain , but no quality. In this piece only you can see/hear many lapses. This person is only showoff, may be good in theory but not up to to mark in vocal singing. We do not crave to hear him again and again!
