black women take notice- she is intelligent, educated and keeps her hair chemical free, natural real hair, she knows her worth and is proud of it. raise your kids to become kings and queens. and men choose the women who have natural hair, those are the real ones who raise your kids, so treat a woman right

@Mari Jata with all due respect, do u go to toilet when u don't have a place to take a dump? just as she mentioned, it's free for all and free is good. but it's not really free cos money has to be pushed in. money has to come from somewhere. Ghana is not economically self dependent or sufficient. so where's the money coming from? we keep borrowing and keep owing. look at how that's gonna affect the future. we go to school, learn from books, go into the real world with no practical skills. that must be thought of as well

What endearing maturity. Yes Zaneto, you are right. Misogynistic posture should no longer be acceptable in the public sphere in a democracy. Women should have a voice without being bullied or undermined. I wish you well. May you prosper in politics and I love your calm and endearing demeanour. Well done.

I saw this beautiful lady first time in the 80s when she was young when her mum used to bring her to our flats legon PNDC era. Proud to see her matured. She seem to have her country at heart. I wish her well in all her endeavours. I think she has presidential DNA in her. We can't judge her based on what her father or mum did in the past. Those things are history. She's unique I will consider her to be Ghana's first female president. Goodluck girl....

If anything is holding Ghana back, it is the way we think. Did your president school here? Where are the children of the leaders currently ruling? These are the kind of questions we need to ask to be able to hold our leader to strengthen our educational sector. If she's not working for Ghana, are you? Are you time conscious? Do you treat public facilities as yours? We have to be objective as she is to move this nation forward or will wallow in the mud forever.

I am the type that reads comments mostly before watching the videos on youbute, and after seeing the kinda back lash she is getting i was expecting her to say something really really bad but nothing. It's not her fault that her dad was president and its not her fault either that we are having a double track system now. Nana Addo talked about free shs in 2012 and came back with it in 2016 ( some say he started talking about it from 2008, of which i don't remember). My point is had he really meant to implement it all these while why didnt the president factor in the infrastructure bit? He had all the time in 2017 to start something with regard to infrastructure. Anyways, great interview for me.

I understand Dr Zanetor's concerns but let's be honest with the challenges of education. We are living in a very fast paced world and nobody will sit, fold their arms and wait for you to catch up. And knowing very well there was a huge backlog of school going children stuck at home because they cannot afford that should alarm all of us. Today we complain about the rise in street kids and we forget it is a compound effect of inactivity in our educational structure that has culminated into the phenomenon we see. And let's not also forget that the average age of Ghana is about 20yrs( a very youthful one). So that presupposes that we are more diving into the devil's abyss should we not tackle the backlog as a matter of urgency. I don't believe anyone was against the NDC govt building more schools but question is, were their words congruent with their actions. How many schools did they actually build? And was there value for money? Secondly, the proposed 20yrs for free education by the NDC was preposterous considering factors earlier mentioned. Double track was simply an ad hoc measure to take up the backlog whilst expanding the infrastructure. One needs to be ingenious in solving such a problem and yes, sometimes in solving an issue, another arises but the question we must ask ourselves is does the new challenge have so much weight as to outweigh the initial? When her father abolished the O Level and A Level and introduced the JSS and SSS, that was the albatross of low quality education he handed the country. She should go back to history. Can the kind of quality her parents had be compared to JSS and SSS we have now? Let's have an honest discussion and she will realise her concerns don't have the kind of weight as a 15yr old sitting at home waiting for a chance to further his or her education and being told to wait for 20yrs more.

@RandiRandy
@RandiRandy 3 года назад
@@harrietacquah2545 fair enough. but I believe in quality over quantity. the effects of the lack of quality education is far greater. Myself, for example, thought my education was good until I travelled outside Ghana. That's when I realised that our educational system is truly flawed in every way. The root of our problems lie deep underneath political views and inclinations. Paid education did not yield the best results. Do you think free education would? Not saying I'm against free education. I'm all for it. With the right systems in place, there'd be jobs for new teachers. I'd rather visit my old school to see a young educator teaching students (with new ideas and an embrace of technology) instead of seeing old Mr Twum (made up name lol) refusing to retire. But the right systems are not in place. A degree attained in Ghana is almost always only valuable in Ghana. We must fix the problems at the roots of the tree instead of always trying to dress up the leaves. Besides, classroom education is not the only way forward. I hope I made sense 🙏🏽
@harrietacquah2545
@harrietacquah2545 3 года назад
@@RandiRandy I totally agree with quality of education but the effect of no education far outweighs quality as we speak. Again, I'm by no means belittling the importance of quality education. But if we take our time to analyze this carefully, you may realise the grave we will be digging for ourselves if we don't get this youthful population educated. And how do we do this? We measure the effects of both as it stands now. Imagine cumulatively we get 600,000 non school going children in the next 10yrs. What will quality of education do if 600,000 turn out to be armed robbers or whatever social vice not to talk of teenage pregnancies. Will the quality of education gained by the 2million children be protected from this 600,000 armed robbers? In my opinion, Let's first deal with the backlog and as we are on it, we look at the quality. Talking about quality, if we are honest with ourselves, quality of education has been dropping since the abolishment of the O and A Level. Now, the world is not what it used to be 10yrs ago. So how do we position ourselves as a country through education?. So once you start with one(which is a matter of urgency), we start with the other. In that way, it is easier to move in tandem. But we truly have a lot of work to do in our educational sector if we are to rub shoulders with the advanced countries.
@RandiRandy
@RandiRandy 3 года назад
@@harrietacquah2545 Interesting point. But don't you think that the 600,000 kids could be given an informal education instead? find out what they are good at and get them into an apprenticeship scheme of some sort (if we had something like that). Get them to learn a skill. and during that, any valuable related knowledge can be passed on. There are many ways to address this endless debate. Are our leaders willing to find a solution and take action within the four years they have in office? Also, what's the point of getting these kids into a classroom if all they're gonna learn is "This is a human head. It is used for carrying load"?

Nkwasiasem, your father stole Ghanaians money to educate you abroad. You are a doctor at this young age, yet you don't want the ordinary Ghanaian to have education? Kuraseni!!

You have to be so damn to make such stupid statement!! How old should a person be to become a doctor? And besides being a doctor isn’t the world as you see it?! I live here in UK and my English long term boyfriend is a fully qualified working doctor at age 27years!!! I am 33-34 and i guess she is older than me as she looks older than me! Over here in UK age 21 can be qualified as a doctor. My brother is 22year old qualified lawyer in Ghana, is that too young too? Jealousy can kill.
