In today's video I have the first of my Christmas DIYS to share. I up cycled some of my old Christmas decor to transform them in to decorate which fits in with my Christmas Decorations this year. The snow globe add a little bit of Glycerine to the water you can buy it from chemists or baking section in the supermarket, it slows the fall of the ‘snow’. Also super glue the seal of the snow globe lid with waterproof glue. My sons made a snow globes around 25 years ago from a jam jars and I still put them out every year, they still have most of the water in them. I’m hoping they still are ok this year after a couple of house moves.

You need a tad of glycerine and some silver glitter in the snowglobe. The glycerine stops the snow from falling so fast and the glitter will give it some bling! 😀

Few drops of washing up liquid, baby oil or glycerin in the water thickens it and allows the snow to suspend better in the snow globes. Also, if you’ve used tap water (without boiling) you’ll need to change the water regularly or it’ll grow mould

@@LouciferFlump years ago - making them with my kids (in old jam jars! nothing so fancy as these purpose-made items and taped round the lids to stop them leaking 😂 - we used the water from the condensing tumble dryer and I have a vague recollection of also using pva glue to help “thicken” the water (can’t remember how good that was though), glycerin is best. And, as someone else has mentioned, the addition of glitter really makes it magical.
