I use a lot of rice paper for decoupage. I find if you wet a small paint brush , or use the water bruhes, I just outline on the paper where I want to tear. Makes it a lot easier and controllable. 😊
Hey Sonnet, I sell vintage books/antique books in my booth, many people who have booths in Antique or Vendor malls sell this type of book and they sell well just as is. If you want to sell them as is. I also use them to stack things on for vignettes in my booths and they will sell that way too.

Alice of Old Vincennes sells between $2-$200 online, honestly you can buy it at a lot of used bookstores really cheap. It's about a girl who was captured by the Indians and then rescued by a French family, then the dashing prince charming comes along. Typical romanticism revival story lol..spoiler alert if you haven't read it!
Other than decoupage, what else do you do with the liqued patina? It's like white and creamy, so not what I would think of as patina. Does it add a texture? I'm just curious. I'm not sure if I have seen you do anything else with it.
My daughter in law buys and sells old books. Some sell for hundreds of dollars. You have to do your research. How sad for you if you destroyed an expensive book to sell for just a few dollars. 😢
Very few books are that expensive, I know a thrifter for years, he said all the time he put into looking for old Books wasn’t worth his time, so Good Luck
I’m sorry you feel I’ve destroyed the books. I’m thrifting the books from the bins which are headed for the dump if I don’t buy them. After I’ve rescued them, whatever I do to them is my choice. I just love taking old things and giving them new life.
