Hello Greg, if you do decide to get water from underground. Please do not tell anybody, even your closest friend. Here we got to pay for the water. I have a creek running towards the end of my property. When it rains heavy. I got that creek running like a river. But I am not able to pump that water for my fruit trees, because in Australia it is money. Although the rain falls from Heaven. So I kindly told them in 2 words, "GET STUFFED." If you decide to have a bore. The first casing they put down will be either 150mm or 200mm. But remember the first casing will have slots. So that when they put the submersible pump down in the hole. It doesn't get clogged with the dirt, clay or sand. Continue to feed the pipe into one another. Till you come to the top. When you get the water PVC pipes. The flared part of the pipe will face towards the top. Then feed the rounded end to the flared end, and so on till you come to the top. I went down 112 feet, and the water is clean and drinkable. I hope I was some help to you.

I was told drilling a well has only a 50/50 success rate in this area. Water usually is sulfur water. I was also told to find water many wells need to be drilled to 300 meters. Sounds like a nightmare.

Hello Greg, a bore is underground water. Now if you are able to get 2 cooper wires. You bend both at one end to 90 degrees. Hold it, one each hand, and walk with it. When the cooper wires turn around you know, there is a stream that is running through. You got to find the people that do the drilling. When they find the water, and you are happy with it. They will put a bore pump right down connected to your electricity Here we have people that do that kind of work. But it makes life a lot easy. I have a 14 station box, and you can time it ,how long you want to run each station. If you have Solar panels on the roof of your house. The Sun will give you free electricity. I have nearly 8 kilo Watts, with 24 panels on the roof of my house.

Your neighbor’s house is coming along nicely. You guys are fortunate to be able to find large lots, affordably. Up in Luzon, where we’ve been looking, anything over 100sqm is considered a large lot. So imagine my surprise when I found a 180sqm lot for a ‘reasonable’ price? You and Wilma inspired me to include a house build into my channel, when the construction begins 👍

Greg and Wilma. I really love how you design your house and especially the kitchen. I like the color blending between the wall color and the furnishing. Actually, my biggest challenge what color to go indoor when i build my own house. Today, while watching, it came to my mind to do the same what you have . Thanks for showing your house. It is a great learning experience for people abroad and who will be retiring and make our own house.

Great job Greg. My SO is currently in Mindanao, and it is hot to her, feels like over 100. I am from Texas so in the summer we would consider 100 degrees to be a cool spell, lol. But we are wanting to come to your town in June/July. We have decided to build in the Philippines too. I am very impressed with your choices of design and finished product. I have 160 solar panels, two separate systems for the two homes on my ranch; however, only one set of 80 has ever produced power as designed; the other 80 was a disaster. I wish I would have seen your video on your solar installation before I put mine in. Anyway, keep up the good work, we enjoy your videos.

Hello Greg, there are 2 suggestions I would love to make. Are you able to have a bore. I have bore, and it makes life a lot easier to maintain a nice garden. If you had a bore, and did your watering at nights. The water you use will soak into the ground and the roots of your fruit trees and grass will benefit by it. Now when I had my first house. I had a swimming pool. But during the summer a lot of the water would evaporate. Here in Perth everything is very expensive. I decided to put a Patio around the area of the pool. It cost me a fair bit, but in the long run. I saved a lot of water and electricity.

Don't know what a bore is. Is it like a drip line for watering?

Hey Greg, love the channel. Just completed the purchase of a 1150 sq. meter lot in the hills near Carcar Cebu. Couple of questions, how many square meters is your lot? Also if you have info on Builders and Architects in your videos could you point me to those videos please. Absolutely would love to mimic what you have built there but unfortunately my property is diamond shape instead of rectangular. Thx.
@buildingthephilippines

Congrats on finding land. Our lot is 1100 square meters. Architect is Roy Ang Gobonseng at royax3@yahoo.com. contractors in this area don't travel from island to island. Most labor is local to the build site. Good luck with your building project.

Hi Gregg and Wilma , I hope it start raining there soon , I just contacted my caretakers in Tupi, they got a little rain in the week , maybe the Locals should do less burning of trash there often I see them burning leaves and Bush that they want to get rid of, adds to the air pollution , wish the authorities would have green trash recycling .

Hi both long time viewers living in Qatar. Would you explain what services there are for you for garbage collection? I’ve seen many places in Philippines burning refuse on the roadside including plastics!
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 3 месяца назад
Really not much here. 95% burn all garbage. They offer weekly garbage pick up, but we need to drive it 2 kilometers down the mountain. Very little infrastructure here.

What do they use to seal the concret block walls so no water seaps.

Either they mix the rendered cement with Sahara. Powder that water proofs or they paint on a waterproof membrane.

Quick question: Looks like they built the stone wall with a setback from your front wall, any reason for that, and are they going to have another perimeter wall if indeed there is a setback? I really appreciate and enjoy your videos!! I'm currently traveling in the Philippines ( your fault! Lol, ) and experienced the heat you are talking about my solution was to go to Baguio! Keep up the videos coming!
