They wear white riding jodhpurs and the tall Jackboots when riding horseback. They are on standing duty no horses on duty today …uniform dress pants and boots on their bottom half today. The white Jodhpurs pants and tall Jackboots are historical … the entire uniform tunic helmet, plumes, gauntlets even the powder pack in the back is historical since King Charles II. The Horseguards Parade building was the original gate way to Buckingham Palace. The Household Calvary qstill guard all the doors and entrance even today. The Kings Foot Guards 💂🏼‍♀️guard Buckingham Palace, Windsor and at times St James Palace.

There are rubber mats that would help to prevent horses from slipping , and would be more comfortable for them to stand on. They use them in America all the time.

IT IS TRADITION FOR THE TROOPERS TO WEAR WHITE TROUSERS. PANTS ARE UNDERWEAR WORN UNDER TROUSERS. FYI. 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Much needed box cobble stone maintenance…they need a good wash and ground cleaned too. Those are historical cobbles ..they will be placed back in the box again. Assumably?

It’s a grade 1 listed building. All stone work has to conserved, where that isn’t possible then “identical” replacements must be sourced.

I've just returned home (USA) from a small break in London. I'm so sad that I found the Horse Guards was closed for manutention. I've been there few months ago and it's my favorite place since I like horses. Almost all my close relatives wear or wore an uniform (I'm one of the few exceptions because I'm a T-Paramedic) and I will never understand people thinking they're at an amusement park. Those guys are active soldiers and on duty while stationing at their posts, they're not a landmark or tourist attraction. I usually just stand far admiring their uniform and discipline. Last time I saw them, I removed my cap, gave a small head nod and thanked them. To my surprise, the AFOs there approached me and thanked me for being polite❤.

Well we’ve seen the poor horses slip and even fall a few times so it really better if the cobbles are reminded for the safety of the horses and the troopers.

Very, very, very rarely is there ice in London in winter. Particularly in Whitehall, where there is constant traffic.

6:21 lady where your I assume husband has his hand over your bum bag, that could so very easily be a thief. Pulling your top over it won’t help at all. Put it on your front. Personally I’d like to walk around London with an easily accessible bag, filled with primed mouse traps and stinging nettles! Teach those with sticky fingers a lesson…a lesson with the topic of *ouch* It disgusts me that people are visiting us and they are victims of thieves, not tourists enjoying their time here.

It wasn’t even a big moment. Lots of these RU-vidrs won’t add a time stamp (there’s one who does and I appreciate them) so they can get people to watch all the way through. I fast forward until I see the part that matches the thumbnail

I do hope they don't put the cobbles back in the boxes they are so slippery whether the horse has peed and pooped, cobbles and horseshoes don't go together that is why the horses slip and fall frequently! Why are the gatesman and chitsman in dark trousers they are usually in their white breeches?
