Here is the reality of this guy's position if he lives in the US. 1. She lives there so even without a lease, he is going to have to evict here. Which could be as short as 30 days and as long as a year. 2. If he stays living in the same house as her, she can claim SA. Even get a ERO (Emergency Restraining Order) which will compromise his eviction notice. A man can talk defiance and kicking her out of his home, but the use of force to remove only lands him right into number 2. And when that happens do you know who has to leave? That would be him and not her. He is force to leave his home while still paying all of the bills. His best bet is to do formal eviction process and not even confront her about it. She will know the relationship is on rocky ground as soon as she is served. He needs to stay somewhere else and get the utilities temporarily cut off which may force her to move out or may give her ammo for the ERO for abusive behavior. Or he can have the utilities completely turned off with the understanding she can have them turned back on in her name. Does this complicate the eviction? Not really. Most evicted tenants have utilities in their name.

I think the important part is that you still like them despite them not being your "type". You can't settle for something you like. Note, OP said that when Jenny was speaking to her friend about all the "perks" of being with him, love was not one of them. She described his job, stability, basically the fact that he's not the typical asshole she goes after. She didn't - at least from OP's perspective - mention liking him, his personality, or much else. You describe your husband as "not being your type" (though 8/10 is pretty damn close) - and vice versa - but I imagine you love him and myriad other qualities he has - and vice versa. And I bet you're *also still attracted to him* - and vice versa. So in my view, there's no way you're settling. However, in OP's case, he's effectively being used, which is why she's settling. She started dating him not because she was into him, but because she was tired of being punked around by the guys she was into. She was only interested in what he and his stable life could do for her. She wanted to feel "safe, supported and loved". All fair enough, those are things anyone would want in a relationship, but nowhere was it mentioned that she was also *actually interested in him*. Even if she eventually did fall in love with him as she claimed to have done, that doesn't overwrite the fact that she settled in the first instance. The long in short of it is that she went for him not because she was interested in *him* but in what he could do for her. That's why she settled.

Statistically speaking, only 46% of US households are married couples. This is down almost 10% in 20 years. So within one generation, you went from being a nation of nuclear families where you are settling down with someone you settled for in a committed marriage, to ignoring all of that and literally "settling" for somebody because you ran out of viable options. These days, women only use the words "settling down" when they are over +30 and the hot girl summer is over for them. And then they aren't actually settling down, they are trying to find a man who they think they might be able to tolerate/settle for in the hopes they will agree to settle down.

you misunderstood... there is a difference beetwen marrying someone who is not your first love... and marrying someone who you dont love in the end the things which made her pick him were in no way tied to his person.
