Always a hard decision but sometimes the time is right. You have checked for the best place and you need to care for yourself as well. I have watched this channel and you have always treated her with kindness, love and respect.

My grandmother was blessed to be in an elderly equipped facility. She had an exceptionally fulfilling time there. The nurses sang at her funeral. It was a lovely experience for our whole family. Please do not have any negative feelings about this decision. It was the best choice for my grandmother

Sweet Donna try not to feel guilty about this. I know it’s hard. I recently had to put my mama in a nursing facility and I went through emotional distress. But she has adapted quite well and has made many new friends. She is in a place that can take such great care of her. As daughters we love our mothers and want to protect them and this is the best way to do that honey. God is with you and your mama.

I am so happy to hear the home your mom will be living in is Homey and not Sterile hospital. She will be well taken care of. Kudos to you for all you have done and will continue to do for her. I cannot imagine the feelings you are going through, but please know we are all here for you, and sending hugs virtually. You are NOT a failure; it is natural to feel this way. You have done so much for her and she knows. Allow yourself to "grieve" her leaving, but then find yourself again, craft, do what makes you happy. No guilt feelings allowed, although I do know it is hard not to. I wish your mom a very happy birthday!

I can’t imagine how hard that decision was for you but you are right, it was for the best and now you know she is safe and is not at risk for wandering off and possibly getting hurt. I hope your mom has a wonderful day for her birthday 🎉

Donna, you are doing the right thing. It is incredibly hard to do. I had to do the same with my dad and I had a lot of guilt as well. But just know that it is ok and you are a very loving and caring daughter to your mom. She will be fine and you have done a great job with her for all of these years.

Oh Donna, you have done a wonderful job with your mother! Don't feel like anyone here judges you harshly for your decision. You needed help. Your mom will need this help. You will enjoy your time with her still, maybe even more because you'll get the time you need to heal from this experience. It cannot be easy seeing a parents cognitive decline and being their sole caregiver. You've done the right thing. Take care of yourself by getting sleep you need and mending your heart. I meant all of this in the best way and don't mean to offend if I have. I'll be praying for you.

Oh Donna. 💖 You have done the BEST for your mom all these years. You are absolutely not a failure. Like your kids have said, it is time for the professionals to take care of your mom and you be there to support her. It is a very tough decision no matter what. I truly hope things go smoothly and well. Happy Birthday to your mom. 🎂💖

Oh Donna, I know this is so hard but you have done your part and cared for your Mum with so much love, respect and dignity. Sounds like you have found a wonderful home for her and now you can get your rest. You can visit her, treat her and know she is in good hands. Don’t feel guilty. Just know you’ve done all you can do, and have given her the best of yourself. May she have a wonderful Birthday.

Hi Donna,I'm sorry to hear about the decision you had to make. Many years ago my family had to make the same decision about my Grandmother. There were three of us looking after her it still became to much to handle plus all the other daily stuff. She had Parkinson's disease as it got worse it got harder.I understand all the emotions you are going through.Despite everything that's going on I hope she has a happy birthday, she is a sweet lady, you are not a failure keep reminding yourself of that,I truly understand that feeling as well.

Hello my dear. This message is to you and not about what’s going on but just to you because you need to feel good and special. I have to tell you that you look wonderful and your hair is beautiful in this video. I know that may seem petty to what you are facing but I think it is important for you to feel ok and special. Please take care of you now that you can rest knowing your sweet Mom will be looked after. You are very brave to share this journey and you went above and beyond to care for your Mom. Please take comfort in that. Hugs ❤

I am so sorry you have come to this crossroad. I know it is heartbreaking, but be comforted to know she will be safe. Now you can be her daughter and let others be the caregivers. Prayers for y’all. ❤

So so sorry, Donna. I will be praying for you and your Mum and the family. I can't imagine what any of this is like even though I'm 75 I have not been through bad and tragic times....not yet anyway so of course wouldn't think of offering any advice or thoughts. I'm, we all I'm sure are so happy to hear that she is in such a wonderful place of good keeping and nurturing and that you can be there most of the time. We all love you both. I'm not good at condolences or typing through tears. Just wanted you to know that I care very much for you and Mum💜

I know exactly how you feel on this emotional roller coaster. You did more, for longer, totally alone, than anyone I can think of. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years. I remember when she moved in with you. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well you need a village to take care of a dementia patient, especially when they’re in the stage your mom is in. I’ve prayed every night for God to help you with your mom. I know when you have the 8 weeks you thought you had, cut to one week, that it throws you for a loop. I’ll still be praying for both of you, as well as your brother as I’ve been doing. I will say, you looked so pretty today. Your hair is gorgeous. Now you can take care of yourself and someone else can take care of your mom’s needs. Now you can again enjoy your time with her rather than being so worried and stressed.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I've cried a lot and hate going through her things to discard. She's not gone to heaven yet, but going through her things makes me feel like I'm grieving. I have slept almost 24hours. Mom seems to be doing very well, eating well, etc. She went in yesterday and I haven't been back yet to give her time to adjust. But I will be going tomorrow,
