Update on the hurricane Helene from our home

Glad you all are safe and no damage. I'm over in Leesburg, we had a lot of winds and rain but made out ok. I live in a doublewide and at some points it sounded like elephants going across my roof. The sun is shinning today so that's great. Cedar Key got hit really bad also a lot of devastation. Prayers to all.

My cousin lives in south carolina and they had huge trees come down, they and their neighbors are blocked in with all of them down

Amy, I’m so glad you are okay. We literally had the Gulf in our yard due to storm surge over the estimated 5-8 ft. Thankfully, our home is off the ground, so no water inside. It was very scary watching the water coming our way. I am not sure that we will continue to choose to stay put when these storms come through though. 🙄

So glad ya'll are ok! I have friends in Canton NC. Devastation 😢. Last I heard at 8 this morning their basement was flooding. Haven't heard from them since then and I am very concerned. Please keep them in your prayers. He works part time with the Ashville PD so I am praying that he is working, helping out with everything. Thanks again for the update! Blessings!

So glad yall are ok! We were in the path but thankfully didn't have much damage. Around us is flooded pretty bad, though. The pics coming in from the Ashville/Hot Springs area are just so devastating!!! Praying for all up there!

Glad y'all are OK. I am looking at booking a beach trip to FL next summer, preferably May. I am going to look into Anna Maria Island and the surrounding area. I am looking on VRBO. What are some good areas to check out? It shows the following list Bradenton Beach Holmes Beach Anna Maria Cortez Ilexhurst Key Royale. We want to be Beach front if possible so I thought I would ask you your thoughts on the area we might enjoy after you said the beaches were beautiful to walk.

I'm from Sarasota Bradenton down there !! where we are living now I went through many of a hurricane there now I live in North Florida I live 30 minutes from where it made landfall and the thing I hate about hurricanes here is that down there you're more in the concrete jungle so you just have to stay away from the water Make sure you're not in like a flood zone and if you are definitely leave but here it's so so much debris so many trees so many oaks so much debris I can't even begin to tell you what our yard looks like right now our yard heck we live on 60 acres now and the whole 60 acres is a pile of rubble mess but our house is ok and we're alive and we will get through this day by day❤❤❤ So glad you guys are safe God bless❤❤ And of course the most miserable thing of all is being without power they're saying it's could take 4 weeks for us to see power and I think it will take us longer because it ripped our whole meter box from our house and our weather head so we will have to repair that before the repair are power❤

I’m in Atlanta, Georgia but we were on higher ground and only got rain and wind. But a lot of areas in Atlanta were flooded. My prayers are with everyone. Blessings to you and your family.

We had so much wind here in Union SC that we had lots of trees fall and some on cars and houses and we lost power and the power company said could be Tuesday with getting power on . Glad y’all are okay . ❤

Very thankful you all are good. We live in the NC Foothills and we just had mostly rain. We were very blessed in that we did not lose power. The areas around us all lost power. Thank you so much for the update.

Atlanta experienced a low pressure storm on Wednesday and dumped lots of rain before the hurricane hit yesterday. Crazy. Heard that I 40 towards Asheville is washed out and and closed down due to wash out and slides

We live over here on the space coast near Cocoa Beach, and we’ve had the yucky side of the hurricane. Lots of tornado watches and tons of rain and winds. Our friends have a house on Anna Maria island on a canal. We talked to them today they live in Massachusetts and he heard his place might have 3 feet of water in their house. Where they live on the island people buy them.and for millions and they knock houses down. Our granddaughter goes to univ. Tampa and she was all good. Glad your safe.

I kept checking on my daughter! She kept saying, they were fine but it is scary!

Glad you’re ok. We’re over in St Pete and our neighborhood was good. Most of my family lost power my brother just got his back a couple hours ago. All our beaches are pretty much destroyed and a few of my friends houses totally flooded so it’s very sad.

I was glued to Ryan Hall last night, too. Glad you guys are ok. Our community in Sarasota fared very well. We didn't lose power, but we lost lots of trees and debris is everywhere.

Thanks for the update, here in Tallahassee we were spared also because it moved east. Had power outages some downed trees but the city is almost fully restored now. So glad our families are okay by God’s grace and provision.

Glad you did well. We are just south of you in North Port. A few small tornado like conditions east of us. We had lots of wind a little eerie sounding but aside from pine needles and tree branch debris we are good too.

👋This is very thoughtful of you and if I may say, also very interesting. So many continents hit by catastrophes this year...heart wrenching. For the first time EVER, I have been too scared to sleep due to the torrential rain with flooding just 3 miles away. Oh my goodness, the poor people everywhere in the world...homes just "gone" Sincere thoughts and prayers for all.

We are without power for many hours. A tree is laying on our house. I just want the power it is so hot.

Don’t turn it up it will get tough. It has to cook to that temperature or it won’t pull very well.
