Update on the new Snakes we got in 2023! 

The Yellow Anaconda should be called Teeny, so you'll have Teeny and Tiny 😂

I got chomped by a hognose for the first time this week. I took in a teeny tiny boy with a very severe kink and I was worried that he wasn't going to want to eat. Instead he decided to eat my thumb with great enthusiasm 😂he managed to envenomate me because he chewed so hard! I had a very tingly thumb for an hour or so 😂

Glad to see Rosie still has her funny little habit. Would definitely keep an eye on her though when she’s old enough to breed and gets paired with a male though! Don’t wanna have the poor boy be her snack.

I think Rosie might be my fave. She's just a tank, and admittedly kinda funny. Dewey and Donut are up there too. They're both v sweet and I love Donut's colors. Besides the eyes, ik the lavenders don't show up great, but her head looks almost pink-hued.

The yellow anaconda reminds me of my sumatran short tail python 🤣she has an attitude too, and gives absolutely no warning before she bites. But I love her. My dwarf boa also has the split colored irises like Donut! super cool!

I produced 5 large litters of yellow anacondas........average 29, handled them 5 min ea after they were born.....no problems with striking After that, and some never struck at all.

Omg I only just now saw your video on Costa Rica I really hope you guys can come down here again some day!!! We have so many gorgeous snakes! Have you seen a hognosed pitviper??? They have no relation to the other adorable hognoses but they're amazing and terrifying. There used to be a large zoo right around the corner of my house where they held just about every species of snake in the country, but it closed some 10ish years ago. They also had a full grown adult two headed terciopelo. I wish I had enjoyed snakes when I was younger. Also, I didn't even know cane toads were native here, but yeah they're common. We had a friend whose golden retriever would catch cane toads and lick them a little just to get high, gladly the toad addiction didn't kill him, but it does kill lots of dogs.

My son's name is Raziel, this is the first time I hear the name and it's on a snake ❤ love it xD

My husband have a leucistic hognose that a lady. She's about halfway to breeding size. We're very excited to pair her with her future boyfriend that is het leucistic

I would not usually name a snake Striker but I think it would really fit for the yellow anaconda. That pattern and his bright yellows are really striking and he has a striking personality. I think teeny is good too like the last person said but if I were to name any snake Striker, it would be this one. XD. I'll see myself out.

my little hognose gets so excited when she smells boiled egg she will bite herself if she bumps into herself or if she drops a bit on herself... its the only food she is like that with, we thought so was such a gentle eater till we realised she just doesnt really like mice (probably why she refuses like 90% of them) and wants boiled egg? her name is sox and shes a weirdo

the reason the lavender hognoses don't look lavender is because of auto white balance. on the sony a7 (I think that is what you have) you can custom set it to you room using a white sheet of paper or something called a gray card which is a very specific gray color. the gray card is more accurate and what I would recommend for you to use but paper is easy to get.

Pssst, don’t forget that a fan sent you a color wheel to help find a complimentary color for your noodles. That might help setting off the camera balance for showing them lavenders!!

Blind Intersection is absolutely adorable and probably my favorite, but I'm not gonna lie, I do love Dewey as well and also immediately fell in love with his inquisitiveness, he's quite charming!

Aww, I love Blind Intersection! Shout out to my fully sighted ball python who once got so excited about _rat smell_ and _mammal temperature_ that she missed the (not quite rat temperature) rat, and got my hand instead. Sometimes having eyes does not get a snake out of the trouble its other senses can get it into.

Well of course I admired the leucistic hog but I also have to say Emily's wedding ring set is gorgeous! I wonder if the lavenders will show up on the camera in sunlight or some other lighting? I did get to see what it looks like when Emily wore a shirt in a video that had a lav hog on it. 😆

So when I had Nettlebrand (the yellow annie) he would do that bluff strike thing then pull back and the strike anyway lol. And he NEVER went on hunger strikes in the 2ish years I had him. He pounded down food.

Your blind snake,well since he was born that way,he doesn't know any other way. So he's perfectly content in life. He is super gorgeous!

We recently learned an odd trick for removing hoggies when they bite: gently pinch the sides of their faces while removing them (my guess is that it unhooks their little fangs). It works really well when the nose trick doesn't want to work.

Blind intersection just became my favourite snake other than the pretty hoggies that we can't have where we live. Also Rosie is sooo funny. Q: Do the venom glands develop more because they eat toads in the wild and like dart frogs they obtain their venom from their food and they're less potent in captivity?

If you want to accurately show the true colour of a snake you can just get a colour balance card and hold it next to a snake so you can calibrate the white balance and colour tones in editing. The card should have a section for shades including white grey, and black, and a section showing a range of specific colours (the larger the range the more accurate the final calibrated image will be to true life.
