We are living in difficult times these days. Everything is so expensive. My God! So he🏒🏒, don't be sorry about nothing. You have always done quality, interesting and fun vids. Do as you see fit with reviewing products, etc. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
Thank you so much. Times really are difficult and prices are outrageous. We’ve always been frugal so that hasn’t changed much but we’re doing g what we can to finish the house so we can start with animals and gardens 😊
Don’t worry about the haters; if people don’t like it they don’t have to buy from Temu. Also, proper forest management is actually good for your property. Good luck continuing this adventure.
My gosh - don't be sorry. Just the opposite, thank you so much for sharing you're adventure - very unique / interesting AND really high quality vids as well, a lot of fun to follow along :)
No worries. Use your land as you see fit. The woods are a renewable resource. There’s a bunch of firewood in the tops left behind. Your tractor can smooth out the worst ruts left by the sliders and the small game will enjoy the brush piles as they rot away. Win-win-win …. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Just back from plowing out our driveway this morning. Yuk...about 5" so far and more to come. Sorry to hear that your Dad was ill, but happy he's recovered. Congrats on being future grandparents! Wish we could do more to help out...
That was the first plowing. We now have about 4" more. I'm watching the radar and it looks like it should end in a couple of hours. Then...off to plow again. Spring, where art thou? We just bought a nice lightweight canoe and can't wait to try it out on the lakes.@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid
It's funny how we've recently had a lot of pine trees cut down on our property (we gave them to a couple of local Amish families for their homes/barns/etc.) and they're sending their young teens over to clean up the property where the tree tops and limbs, etc. are down. Our property looks about like yours with the exception of the drag marks from the horse teams they used to pull those massive logs out of the forest. But we've got plenty of mud too! I'd thought about selling off the timber, but found that trading with the Amish has a lot of benefits for us. We now get all of the lumber we need at no cost (we TRIED to pay them a little something, but they won't accept payment). They've build us a nice workshop, a delivery (outhouse) for Fedex/UPS deliveries when they can't make it up our drive, and done a lot of other work for us. We had started our own RU-vid channel (alanaval) but found we just didn't have the time to spare while trying to get a roof over hour heads before winter set in last year, and are just now wrapping up all the major work on the interior. Now it seems like it's not going to be worth it anyway, although we could have definitely used the extra income being retired.
Sounds like you have some wonderful neighbors! And that’s why the pine is in demand right now, I think a lot of it is going to our local Amish as well. We know what you mean about being too busy to make videos… it can be a lot especially when you’re building! I tried to find your channel, can you send a link? It won’t show up here because links need approval first but I will watch for it. And the extra income is nice for sure.
Hello you two, I think it's great that you write openly about the problems with You Tube and Temu. You're making the effort to make the videos, not just for your enjoyment but also to get some money into your cash register and that's right. Even though I'm not a big fan of advertising videos, I know that you need them and if they're done well, they're fun. I hope that you get further with your construction projects this year and also film them, because I like to watch them. Many greetings from Berlin
Typically loggers leave a mess. Before you dispair, keep trails open though your woods, as first and second growth comes in the deer and small animals will be drawn to it. Old growth forest is not good for wildlife. Everyone is complaining about RU-vid views being down. Something changed after the first of the year.🤷
Yes, we have a lot of oak trees that should now grow in very well 😊 there’s a lot of great reasons to log (video coming soon) but it is initially shocking.
It's great to hear you guys are so honest. My wife and I are on social security plus my retirement check and we are doing just fine. My channel is a fun channel for me with just a piggy bank income. Lol
Thank you. We should be fine once we’re both collecting ss too, it’s just coming up with the money to finish the house. It’s amazing how quickly you can come to depend on that extra money every month! 😁😊
Good luck on the build! And I would very strongly recommend you video everything. It’s one of the best things we’ve done. You’d be surprised how often we go back and watch them! It’s amazing how much you forget too! They’re also great for inspiration (trust me there’s times where projects seem daunting) and very handy if you need to remember something like where electrical wires or plumbing pipes are😁we didn’t start this channel to make money… maybe we’ll share the story in one of our videos soon!
I have little doubt that those who complain about you using Temu have no financial concerns. When times get tough, you do what you need to do to survive.
I wrote about Temu, but I didn't (and I believe most people don't) blame you, I understand the difficulties with the costs raising. On the other hand I feel like it's my duty to raise awareness about the risks associated with products made for markets with zero protections from harmful substances, poor and regularly breached electrical standards and resulting fire risks, etc. It's just serious subject, people's health and lives are at risks. Of course, not every product from market place is harmful, but people should be made aware of the risks. By the way, I don't know who found the deal with the electrician offensive, I'm think it was cool and fair deal. I hope he will share with you and us his finished Tiny House! So I wish you success with the logging project as well as with affiliate links and RU-vid. BTW, more and more people are dissatisfied with RU-vid and seek alternatives like Nebula, GrayJay, Stream,... I myself slowly reducing my RU-vid time in favor of competition, they've just gone too far and become too crazy.
Oh No worries! We totally agree. We have a rule about not buying certain things at harbor freight too😁 and we will definitely try to share more on his tiny home when it’s done! I e never heard of those platforms you mentioned either… I’ll have to check them out!
I like your channel and will continue to watch. I'm interested in seeing how your home comes out. And as far as the haters? Haters are going to hate, because that's what they do. Unhappy people with unhappy lives. No one is thrilled about the China takeover, but unless we elect better people with better USA policies in mind, this is what you are going to get. Note to haters: spend your time on working for a better government, one that puts American citizens first!
RU-vid is deep in the enshittification cycle. They got all the viewers, and then they upped advertising to viewers, and then slashed payments to creators. There's no chance the platform will recover, but if you can find another way to get your thing going, good for you, and for us too.
You are self sufficient, independent, think for your self, make intelligent choices, lets see you are not a total wreck to your selves and others. Why would RU-vid pay you?
Deforested the lay lines of the Adironskimo Yeti thingy that hides in them thar hills. A one month baby shower excursion guarantees a well hydrated baby. I didn't realize yooz went into this project with a capitalistic mindset (not that there's anything wrong with that). Well, a really great guy named Brad DeBerti and his Dad, Doug, had a coupla tv series on Discovery Channel and MotorTrend. Long story short, they got along too well to hold people's interest and lost sponsorships/revenue. Awesome people and I love 'em both to pieces but they need to fight more. Lol. Anyways, good luck with your venture.
Lol. Your comments are very entertaining! And we didn’t go into this to make money at all but it’s surprising how quickly you start to count on the extra money with inflation and all. We just want to get the house finished. It’s really sad how quickly we went through our life savings even being as budget conscious and frugal as we are!
@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid money is a sore subject for me these days and as for the reason I got into life in the first place was... well, I forget. It wasn't to become an entertainer but it keeps me occupied. Lol. I wouldn't worry about the detractors much - life's too short to be uptight all the time. :-) Enjoy your weekend.
