I'm an appliance technician... Just wanted to give you some tips so you're washer last longer... Speed wash/quick wash is only ment for a super small loads. Like some clothes you really wanna wear but are dirty it's not meant for a full load. If you wash denim/ towels/ or jackets (anything heavy) make sure you use the heavy/bulky/large setting it makes the spin cycle slower and keeps the washer from 1) tearing up the suspension in the washer 2) keeps it from banging on the sides. Another thing I recommend is buying pantyhose and tying it to the end of the drain line these washer are not good with collecting lint and you don't wanna clog your drains in your apartment. Also if use pods do not use it on the quick wash setting dosnt give the pods enough time to fully dissolve.
Excellent advice. I do this and agree that there is a lot of silt-like lint and pantyhose works great. You can also put the other foot on the vent of your dryer.
Place a knee high stocking at the end of the exhaust and leave the hose inside the apartment. 1. It will help in keeping the apartment warm during winter. 2. Apartment will smell great and 3. It will act as a humidifier during winter.
@@postalcanary not really. I think the overall construction may affect how or when mold develops. 6 months ago my landlord remodeled my kitchen. Every single wall was removed and the drywall was in perfect condition… and I had my portable dryer already for 3 years prior my comment so, 5 years total and no mold problem either in the kitchen or around the house.
There is literally a portable dryer vent box you can buy that'll just sit on your floor oh, I had one for my full size dryer that I had in my kitchen in my upstairs Apartments
I just wanted to give you and your husband some advice about the hose for the dryer the vent hose there's a bucket that you buy at either Lowe's or home Depot it's a five gallon bucket and it has a lid just like a paint bucket that the lid is made to hook up that hose and all you got to do in the winter time you put water in the bucket little bit of water I guess like not even three to four inches high inside the five gallon bucket and when you dry all the lint from the dryer or whatever comes out it goes into that bucket okay not only that it holds the it lets the heat warm up the apartment in the winter time but it's easy to clean you just got to make sure you don't dump it down the sink or the toilet you got to go in there by hand and take out the lints which is not going to hurt nothing you know just FYI this way you don't have to worry about the window being opened in the winter time it's a 5 gallon it looks like a paint bucket but it has a special lid for that hose right back to me and tell me if you got one of thoseusually they sell them at home Depot but I think Lowe's has them too
Thank you for making this video. I’m just about to move to a new place and for the first time in decades I won’t have a washer dryer. Ugh. The nearest laundry mat is a 25 minute drive away. Ugh again. Your video was extremely informative and I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to give an honest review of the products and their operation. Now I know what to look for when I go to make a purchase. Thanks again for the invaluable education.
I’m in Michigan and have a similar hookup. To vent the dryer, look at Home Depot. I found a metal expandable box with holes for the fitting, I got a regular house dryer with 3 hinged plastic things so birds can’t fly in accidentally. I’m wrapping it in some reflective insulation to help keep the cold air out and make a more snug fit in the window while it’s in use. We put it in the window when using, and pull out to close the window when not in use. Occasionally we don’t vent outside and it’s safe to do that since it’s an electric dryer, we prefer a little humidity in the air at home. I’m looking for a stand to prop my dryer up a little higher, it’s sitting on the ground and that’s uncomfortable to bend down so often.

I watched your first video and was saddened with a memory. I used to have a portable washer that was like 30 years old but worked like brand new ( Sears & robuck - Maytag ). I moved into a apartment and had to leave behind, and been looking for something decent. Technically I am not supposed to have one of these, but I can disguise them like the other tenants. By watching your videos, I am going to order mine today. Thank you for your videos. P.S I think the eco mode is for the air dry function, for the heating element does not come on, only fan.
Wow this came in handy I watched part 1 and in my feed was part 2 so I wanted to see what's it like after having it a couple of months and it's still holding up for you. Thanks!
The best portable washing machine out there is the Danby. I have had mine for over 4 years. It has an agitator, spins and washes wonderfully and I feel it works just as well, if not better than the larger washing machines. The newer models do not have the agitators.
Thanks for the first video & the update! I had no idea Walmart sold this. I can really use them, as my apartment has hookups but I have to buy my own machines .
Very well done! I’m in the market and have seen several videos and you rank among the best with your thorough explanation. As for sealing that gap in the window, no need to cut a piece of wood; you can use the same thing folks with portable air conditioners use. It’s plastic and covers the gap in the open window but has an opening to insert exhaust piping. You can easily find it.
@@cabozeman1 On Amazon, of course. Search under dryer vent for window and it should give you at least a couple choices. There’s a plastic one for about $40.
You should tie a net around the tube when the water drains to catch the lint so it don’t ever clog your sink. I wish they had these when I use to live in an apartment years ago.
Thank you for this!! I live in Wisconsin and so I know what you mean about our winters...I was definitely wondering how I would be able to vent the dryer during that time without letting all the cold air in the apartment too. Such slot of great ideas/smart solutions!! Thank you again!! Definitely subscribed to your channel. 👍🏼👍🏼❤️
Thanks for the review. Theres a vent part for dryers when you don’t have a dryer vent in your home and you can keep your window closed. Its called a indoor dryer vent.
Hello I’ve had both washer and dryer for 5 months now and I haven’t had any issues except now my lid on the washer just slams shut now it doesn’t closes softly anymore without me closing it by myself. But that’s not a problem for me. Both work fine. And it’s better to use powder detergent because it’s better for the machine.
Your lint catcher should never get that full. It will run your electric bill up, take longer to dry your clothes and will cause a fire hazard. It should be cleaned after EACH use.
If you have to Chicago I know it gets cold I live in Connecticut so I know how it is in the winter it's special when that wind starts to kick in you can just do it let it sit on your your floor just put a couple of stockings over it you know those like me highs you put one on there or two to catch the lint don't do it snug let it kind of like blow up a little bit and just keep it around the neck and then you know make sure you tight around the end of it it will catch the let and you can use it like that just a suggestion and if you don't want to use that which it does work and it's of course you know how easy it is to clean that if you don't want to use that you can always get a piece of screen from Home Depot or Lowe's or whatever and just have them cut you a piece that's like 20 by 20 and then that way you'll have more to put around it so you can cut that 20 by 20 into 6 I believe it's not four and just do it loosely but make sure you tie it snugly and that's another way you can use it during the cold season Much Love-n-Peace 💜☮️💯👼🏾❣️ to you and your beautiful family young lady curly top
The bucket is called for the dryer it's called dryer lint bucket it looks like a paint bucket there's a video on the internet on how to make your own look up dryer lint bucket your husband might be able to make one it'll save you guys money and you won't have to open it up the window in the winter time you can heat up your house in a winter time with the dryer
You could buy and cut to size a piece of insulation. I had to do that once and it worked great. The house I was in didn’t have a drain for the washer, so I had to run it out a window.
@@tinytt854 So people FEEL like they are doing something for the environment. As long as the dryer only has 1 or 2 things, the eco mode would probably work just fine. There is nothing that says you must use it. So ignore it instead of walking around complaining that you don't understand something. Good gracious.
Thanks soooo much for this video.. laundromats are getting overcrowded now living in a big City!! Definitely, a great video to search particularly with this pandemic... we want to limit our public interaction as much as possible!!!🌺🌺💯🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing. I'm planning to buy this Panda 3.5 CF dryer along with Magic Chef 2.0 cf washer. Have you experienced any issues with your Panda Dryer? Did you purchase an additional protection plan for this dryer? How often do you need to replace inside lint filters?
Ok,you have 3 parts to the dryer lint catcher that go together then snap inside the dryer. You have the cage, the screen, and the cloth. I thought the screen was supposed to go onto the cage first then the cloth after. So when it's all together the air passes through the screen first then through the cloth. That is how I put mine together but I see you do it in a different order. I should find and read the directions again to make sure I'm doing it the correct way. Yep,there it is on page 13 of my instruction manual. What I call the "cage" is the exhaust vent shroud, the "screen" is called the lint filter, and the "cloth" is called the exhaust filter and that is the order they go together. >>>The easy way is to put the screen(lint filter) in the middle then you can't go wrong.
Girl! Thank goodness you got this in March before Covid-19, so you did not have to take your baby to laundromat. It sounded like you had corona during your first video too. Good review update.
How much do these increase your electric bill? 🤔 Surprised management allows these. I don't pay for water or hot water heater. I'd love these...just concerned about cost of using them.
Just a quick tip, or two. Your filter is in the wrong order on your dryer, and it scares me, to be honest. When you have it on, the first filter you should see is the actual lint filter screen. The other filter (exhaust filter) should be behind the lint screen, when you have it installed in the dryer. You have it the other way around, and it is VERY dangerous to do it that way. Also when you install the lint screen to the base the screen has a flat side, in the middle, and the other side has a raised notch. You want to place the lint screen on the base with the raised notch side up, facing you.. Not the flat side. That's why it was harder for you to remove the screen from the base. Other than that, good video about the washer. I was just super concerned about that dryer, and your safety on the filter thing.
I have the panda dryer the felted disk is suppose to go on last it should be against the metal part of dryer then the screen filter then the plastic cover... I've had my dryer for five years ...
Actually if you just put a stocking (panty hose) over the end of the dryver vent, you're better off just letting the dryer vent just vent to your house during winter - the stocking catches the lint, and the warm moist air coming from the dryer lowers your heating bill (and adds moisture to dry winter air). Summer time, definitely vent outside like you are.
Even with the water is shut off, my hose seems to always spray water when trying to disconnect from the tap. Do you know if you should be able to disconnect the hose from the tap after a cycle and it wont spray water everywhere, even with the tap shut off?
That's hard to believe because I have the same machine and I have washed my queen size comforter plenty of times. How I do it I use a stick to push the comforter down to be sure that the comforter is truly submerged but I use hot water for this process then what I do all add Manually add more water to about the rim so that it'll agitat and spin freely and that is all just repeat during it's cycle.
Have you noticed if your clothes come out with lint after washing? I know the washing machine has a lint filter attached inside on the sidewall of the basket, but how well does it work in preventing your knits from getting lint from your previously washed towels.
U can use the brush from ur vacuum and it will suck off all the lint on the extra filter that is the first cover bfore u clean the other lint off do after every load dryer will last longer good luck
Instructions say do not store near Heat maybe you can make some room in a closet sensors on Wheels you can just pull it in and out if you have it on a dolly also when you don't clean out your lint trap all the time you have left that goes to other parts inside the dryer itself which is not good the dryer has to breathe so you have to clean the lint all the time the more lent that gets on the Trap the harder it is to take it off so it's best to do it soon as you're finished doing your load because it's not so thick and you can get it cleaner that way so the dryer can breathe
Can you connect the washer to a water hose ? My landlord says I can’t use my portable inside because the detergent draining in the drains will mess up the drain smfh but I was thinking about getting this one instead I don’t have a problem with the one I have but this one is prettier lol
I was watching ur video on my other phone Walmart sells magic chef 3.0 and 2.0 witch the 3.0 can handle a queen size comforter and w those machines ur to use the laundry soap that is high efficiency HE and u don't need a lot bcuz it gets really soapy good luck
How many lbs are each individually, & are they stackable? This is certainly the best portable washer and dryer I've seen!!☮️😹 Please leave the info for purchase brand, store, $, etc.😊
How many loads of clothes do you do a week on average do you think? How much did your electric bill go up by using this? An estimated amount if you don't mind? Is the drain hose long? I bought a smaller unit and am researching other machines. I need something bigger and that actually hooks up to my sink. It looks like spending the extra money is worth it.
I wash my clothes, baby and husbands clothes every 2 weeks and it takes me 2 days to wash everything. For my clothes I do 3 or 4 washing cycles. For my baby i only do 2 as for the husband I do 4. My bill didn't go up that much maybe like 10.00 I can't really say for sure but I can honestly tell you this has made my life wayyyyyy easier and it's definitely worth what I spent but that's from my point of view. I hope this helps!!😊
@@curlygirlgoddess4220 thanks for the information. I bought a washer that has a spinner separate than the washer. I'm not as happy with it as I was hoping I would be. This unit looks more like what I should of purchased. I appreciate the information. Seems like this machine is cheaper than going to the laundromat. The convenience of having it at home is nice as well.
So do you have to turn the sink in and off when it’s filling and rinsing or just leave it on and the machine stops it from overflowing if that makes sense
It's a fully automatic washer so you don't need to turn water off after filling. It will work the same as if it was hooked up to a regular washer hookup with water always turned on. I have this machine & it's a great machine.
Yes i just remove it carefully because it's fragile. I didn't even know it was a vent until not to long ago. Literally found out after I made the videos lol🤦♀️😆🤦♀️
Equal mode is for setin you know the material satin it dries in cool so this way nothing melts especially Saturn some materials have a little bit of plastic in them like clothes just certain clothes
Very nice review of your dryer, I know that in the prior video you mentioned the washer cost you $199.00. But you never said the price for the dryer :(
If u go to the hardware store u can get a y hose that will hook up to the back of ur machine so u can use hot and cold and 1 hose hooks up to the y hose and then too the sink good luck I had a portable washer in 1984 u could buy them at Sears portable washer and dryer good luck
I think u might be thinking of the cheaper models. The portable two in one. The washer and dryer here are on the higher cost end. I Googled 4 different kinds. The items here are just mini of full sized models. Prices range from $100 - but you gotta buy needed parts to make it work - up to $500 where all you need is nothing.
