Thanks for the review and videos about these scooters. I got my s10 3 days ago and its a solid scooter beside the rear fender coming loose all the time so i removed it, less noise too. Solid scooter. As you said newer ones have some new things like inside I think theres damping stuff to not let things loose and the screen is indeed colored (battery indicator and cruise\eco mode showing colors other than white). So far solid scooter, ridding it in all kind of terrains and it handles all kind of hills
My Joyor Y7-S has regenerative braking. So it’s definitely in their wheelhouse. Not sure what controller in your model, but it’s conceivable that there’s a P-Setting for this.
Dave i need your help can you please tell me exactly what the numbers on the side of the S10S scooter mean J2307 S10-S-10255 model year 2023 joyor S1OS is the 07 for july ? what does the 225 mean ? Am i right on some of this joyor company wont help me thanks dave your the best

Hey David, great reviews! Got a question. I'm mostly preparing to use this scooter for commuting work that's a mile away. Very flat Houston. I want speed. More than anything. Is it possible to get the s5 and adding a motor to the front tire or just buy the S10?
Definitely not get the s10 To heavy and the extra motor kills the battery. Get the s5 it moves And keep yourself as light as possible If you want a little extra mph and distance get the bigger battery from Amazon or the place that I have the link in the short . You will need to get silicon and seal the battery box and the 4 holes under the scooter for if you hit rain And when u are in the battery compartment get electrical grease and grease down the connections. The scooter will be unstoppable. I think where you are you should see speeds of 31-33mph Make sure you keep the tire pressure at max or you will get a shake at top speed But keep in mind that’s fast wear helmet and gloves.
No 3 screws Plastic lid comes off Then u unplug and pull bat out slide new one in plug in put lid and done But the. 5 goes very far don’t think u will need it for the distance
@@DavidsHowtosReviews right. I'll basically have a 2 mile commute round trip. I just want more speed in case I'm running late haha. One last question for ya. I checked out the links with the batteries. Would you be able to guide me which battery I should purchase?
60v 18AH or higher Like 19-20AH Not to big or it will not fit Try one of these TGHY 60V Lithium Battery Pack with Charger 16Ah 18Ah 20Ah Rechargeable Li-ion Battery for 1500W Motor for E-Bike Electric Scooter Electric Motorcycle Electric Go-Kart a.co/d/fIn4Ah6
Hi I just received the S 10 S and it didn’t come with the M option for you to change to 2 Wheel Drive how do I change it to 2 Wheel Drive without the M !
Ty very much for your joyor content. I also watched your joyor waterproof video. Wont silicon every cable contact, but doin the screw holes and the cover will at least make it water resistant for 15min in medium rain...I hope at least XD Will keep in mind your tipps for the plugs of the break cables and charger and more! Ty again. Just a quick question: You mentioned the 3rd gear beeing not to your taste. Did you try going into the parameter settings and change the torque (P12)? I read this changes the throttle.
Hi, so I got an S10 without the front motor. I was wondering would you have a site where I could buy a front motor for it or could I buy a back motor and put it in front to use it instead
I think the s10 is lying about motor size. I think it is dual 1000w peak, not actual 1000w motors. The acceleration is way to slow for it to be a genuine 2000w of power. It also struggles on steep hills. I actually returned my first one because I thought it was defective but the second is the exact same. Its not a bad scooter, nor is it slow. Its just not what one would expect for a dual 1000w system. My 600w Segway had more torque and handled hills better. My new 2500w Q30 with a tiny 16a 48v battery absolutely destroys my s10. It has faster acceleration and is way better on hills. You really never know what you are going to get with these scooters. A lot of the time what you get is different from what the specs will have you expecting.
Yes exactly what I’ve been saying One site says one thing the other site says something different And yes I’ve been thinking same about motor size I think the one is 300-400watt then the other is like 500-600watt No way is this a true 1000watt And the s5 I think is only 600w not 800w The more I hear about all the weird things that happen to people who have bought them the more I keep thinking random spare parts into scooter Cheap China. Lots of defective stuff and I mean random No listings for anything But if you look through sites for other scooters you will find some under different brands. They have been working on for me I just try to warn people about the scooters what you’re going to get to get it from a reliable place like Amazon you can return it if it’s a piece of crap
@@DavidsHowtosReviews Even premium scooters are cheap Chinese scooters. The actual platforms on $3000+ scooters are the same as what you get on a $1000 scooter. You end up paying $2000 more for what amounts to a better battery and slightly better components. I never buy premium anymore, what I do is buy a great platform like the Arwibon Q30 and upgrade the battery. What I'm left with is something just as good as a premium scooter at a tiny fraction of the price. I also now make sure that I buy from a company that sells replacement parts, which is rare but some do. The same issue we talked about with the motors happens with batteries too. The Q30 is a perfect example. I was expecting nothing of the 48v 16a battery- its far too small for the 2500w motor. However, when I got it I was blown away at the performance out of it. It seems to overperform what the specs suggest. I've also had scooters with much bigger batteries that perform far worse than they should. I think a lot of these manufactures straight up lie. Its so hit and miss what you end up with. You might get something that performs far better than it should or something that falls far short of what specs lead you to believe. Reviews are also very hard to trust.
It’s possible that they are Lying about the size of the batteries also who knows seems like there is no control over this stuff they can say what they want and u take the gamble buying them
@@ScottL-w7g guys just to let you know, China cannot make a screw without western machines, don't let "made in China" fool you, most things are rather assembled in China. What I'm trying to say, blame us we manufacture everything in China. Have you tried to make a list of Chinese innovations? I mean real innovation, the list is extremely short.
U can probably use 1 it’s very slow at least on the s5 S10s not will be to fast But I have the 2nd gen and the new ones have way more settings and controls plus color screen from what I’m hearing
Hey David, thanks for responding! On the top right of the screen, where it says normal, I saw a video in German a guy going to echo mode, but I don’t know the button combination , Also, have no clue about the alternate screen and changing the numbers and shit , I hope I don’t over use it , I’m using it with Uber and already made $40 in 2 hours . This is gonna pay for itself right away and make me a good side hustle
Hey its me again about the the free S10S i got in march it gets to about 35 and starts to run rough it feels like its got a lot left but something is holding it back the lower speed and power are good and it seems to charge ok there are no errors on the LCD its the higher speed tt starts running roughly its done this since new maybe got 100 miles on it got any ideas thanks very much stay tuned for the rest of the story
Hey dave i got a question for you is there really a joyor mx S10 2400wt duel 1200wt motors elc scooter joyor shows what they say is a 2024 joyor mx S10 2400wt elc scooter im having a problem and would really like your input on this would appreciate it dave thanks
Ok dave i took off the speed limit from the p 10 settings i get over 45mph on a full charge but still cuts out at higher speeds but thanks helped me out@DavidsHowtosReviews
@josephbratton8102 I really don't know I seen advertisements on it but only for a few weeks I only have these two and they r getting old now. Next thing I will be getting is ether a suron or the new E-bike that suronster has a vid on..
If I overcharge my electric scooter for two more hours will that ruin the battery or it will only ruin my battery if i charge it overnight how does it work ??
Don’t charge inside home just in case something happens And you can just plug it in charge it till the light turns green on charger it will shut off by itself But try to monitor it just so you know nothing is happening if possible Also after riding it let it cool down for 1 to 2 hours before you go to charge it again it will help extend the battery life
I don’t see that being easy because the swing arms stop at pivot point. Only thing you may be able to do is mount shock on side of swing arm to the tail front will be harder because everything needs to move side to side
Check your tire pressure? 50lbs max and what is should be set to. Check your brake adjustment front and rear With scooter off the ground on a bench spin tires they should spin freely
@David's How-to's & Reviews Thanks for the reply! I did check and the pressure was low. Now I can do 23. I was promised 30 mph. Did I get a bad scooter? I see you doing 30mph in your videos. My Kugoo Kirin G3 accelerated MUCH faster to 30mph+. This was a replacement for that one. Is there a list of each P code? I found some online but none specifically for this new S5 model with the color LCD in the center. I REALLY don't want to have to rebuild yet another scooter! I can manage the acceleration if the top speed was true to the advertised 30mph
No I don’t know there is someone that had posted code meanings somewhere in comments. But I really don’t know where If you poke around in comments on older videos that is where it will be. Unfortunately these scooters have almost no quality control and I’m just finding this out now So many variations seems like some are going faster some hit correct mph and some are on the slow side. A lot of us are really starting to think these are actually 600w
PO : Modify the speed unit. P1: Password input interface, you need to enter the password 1159 to enter the system settings. + - key to select numbers, switch key to switch digits. P2: Controls whether to enable the power-on password. ON to turn on the power-on password. OFF to turn off the power-on password (the password is not required to be entered next time you turn on the scooter). P3: The initial power-on password is 1111. Press the plus and minus keys to set the password number. After the setting is completed, long press the M key. (Note that the user should remember the password. If you forget the password, you can long press the M and power kevs for 25 to reset the factory password). P4: Set wheel diameter P5: Set battery voltage P8: Set zero start or non-zero start P9: Set whether to enable cruise control. P10: When the controller does not limit the speed, the meter can limit the speed to ON, and can release the speed limit OFF (this can not be done in the manual).
@williamko4751 you need to keep the tires at max inflation and lean back a little at max speed I’ve never had bar shake but I would think the steering damper would help
Nope I have no clue If you pull it out there is a lot of writings on it and a squ on it also If you are looking for parts I have a short with a link to a store that sells parts and accessories
I did check the link but it didn't say which kind of controller? The way to tell the difference is that the Sinewave controller lets you adjust the speed very easily, the more throttle you use the faster it goes. The squarewave is all or nothing, as soon as you throttle it's giving the full power & you can't modulate your speed. Does it feel like you can modulate your speed faster/slower with the throttle or does it feel jerky/lunges when you throttle? Thank you!
1st not usable u have to push 2nd 10mph-18 3rd 20-30’s Ck the s8s it’s dual motor little bit bigger battery.. should get u up hill better I think it’s worth the little extra money
Still have not been able to ride mine. Can't get in touch with anyone at Joyor to get a new controller. So it's just sitting at the shop...SMH...Can't get parts off their website
Give this a shot at least it may get you closer I believe these are the same only wire you will not use is the gray and black which is the regeneration breaking wire JOYOR Motor Brushless Controller a.co/d/4Wpocbg I was able to buy it, I canceled the order try this link pick for s10 www.joyorscooters.com/premium-dc-battery-controller-for-electric-scooters/
There is a lot of variation But in all 30+ miles I have not been able to ride it all the way to even of the battery I really don’t think its what they are saying but ride it in #1 speed on flat ground and possibly what they are saying
The 5S sucks. I just bought one. The suspension is too stiff. I’m not even sure it has suspension. This scooter is way too hard to fold. Equally hard to unfold. The charging port cap doesn’t stay shut. Be careful with the handle it’s hard to tighten otherwise it doesn’t turn the wheel. I’m gonna contact Joyor.
It's easy, you just don't know how to do it. Unfolding takes almost no effort, push your foot on the slope on the back of the deck while sort of pushing the handle bars forward, it'll snap into place.
informative, i actually just ordered one! So it has 3 gears right? Do the gear modes just control the speed or do they regulate torque settings too? Or do i have to use gear 3 to get full torque?
When driving at full speed on the street do I press the back brakes or the front brakes because my friend told me I shouldn’t pull the front brakes because you can flip over add fast speeds when you pull it ???
I use both on street Back on dirt As long as you don’t slam on the front brake you will be fine, you are more likely to make front tire slide out. As long as the pavement is dry front will be fine Wet pavement use more back and some front
Not true, I can slam both brakes full speed. Your friend probably doesn't know how to stop correctly. Get your weight as far back as you can when you brake, you come to a sudden stop with no chance of flying over. If you ever feel that flying over is a possibility, you simply shift your weight back. Keep one foot forward, another one in the back, sort of stick your butt back as you crouch a bit. You can pull both brakes on concrete hard, just try it at low speeds and work your way up.
