Valuable interview ! Thank you for sharing ! There is nothing like hearing a story first hand ! Glad this gentlemen lived long enough to enjoy life and tell his story ! Those men were mostly modest, never felt like they did anything particular, didn't brag and stayed quiet for many years. Often they are even suprised someone would show some interest in their own story :-) I still have found memory of South Africa where I stayed in 1986... but it also feels like a thousand years ago.
My father was in Germany during the "Korean War" and he brought back a camera that looks exactly like the camera given to this British pilot by the German Soldier, and I still have that camera to this day, it is a Zeiss camera. Thank you for this video.
Back ground music was made softer..many viewers complained about that..sorry nothing substantial. Real update is that Peter is still around but eyesight giving problems. Then there is a historian person in Germany who claims that they found one of the Germans featuring in this story and he is also still around. So lets hope something comes from this as it could be a perfect ending.
