As an Alabama fan, I would place Tennessee above Alabama because Tennessee has played better competition and blew them out and has overall looked like a better team

This is completely unrelated but if you look at the rankings Texas A&M was still receiving votes. I’m convinced Texas A&M could field a team of paraplegics and still receive top 25 votes.
If you are going to lose, lose early, preferably a week 1 game against another ranked opponent. It’s still early in the season to really try and fill out the top 25.

The story of this game is Tennessee was able to win in a different way. NC State's defense played the deep ball so we killed them with short passes and running the ball. And this year our defense looks elite. That makes us a scary opponent for any team
Georgia is scheduled to play 3 of the 4 top five ranked teams (we can't play ourselves). #2 Texas, #4 Alabama, and #5 Ole Miss. And not only that, we have to play them all ON THE ROAD. That's brutal. And then for good measure, Georgia has to play #7 Tennessee.
Finally a challenging schedule for Georgia. Better than playing cupcakes like Georgia Tech, Scar, Kentucky, and Vandy every year. Lucky that the SEC isn’t 9 conference games. They probably would’ve pulled Oklahoma.
Just my (surely unpopular) opinion...I think part of the reason he did is because bama is coming up on Georgia's schedule and he fully expects GA to win that (which they likely will) so he might be propping bama up for that & until then.
Bama 💩 the bed several games last year so he knows they’re still really talented and can be good when they’re hitting on all cylinders! Heck UA played pretty bad against Auburn last year and came back the next week to beat #1 UGA! I think the focus/poise on offense starts with your QB so I always look at Milroe first when things go south. I mean it’s not a coincidence that the top 4 teams in his poll have really good, experienced QBs who are great leaders ON and off the field! They all understand the offense and can execute it to a high degree.

I'm a UGA fan and agree. Texas posted a heckuva result over a very good Michigan team, so they should be sitting at the top. Since they meet later in the season, where they are now doesn't matter. But that win in Michigan was just an excellent one.
Michigan is trash. They lost 18 of 22 starters including their entire offensive line. And people thought they were going to be the same team as last year? They look like the Michigan team from 5 years ago.

It's not uncommon for Tennessee to be ranked even last year they were number 11 for a bit. What is common is getting ranked then blowing it to a team we have no business losing to. GBO!
1Georgia, 2 Texas, 3 Tennessee 4 Ole Miss, 5 OSU, 6 Bama. Based on what we've seen, this is about as fair as a ranking as could be. We do know the top 3 can beat ranked opponents. 3-6 we are sure yet. I think Clemson, Michigan and NC State are all comparable teams so Tennessee's win in the state of North Carolina may just be the most impressive with a 41 point margin.

Strongly agree on the revolving door. IMO at this very minute only about 10 P4 teams look playoff-tier. Some G5 teams have definitely shown up to play this season - Boise State obviously, but I think Tulane, UNLV, and Memphis are all quite capable of beating their P4 opponents this upcoming week. The PAC-2 rivalries come this week too, and if Washington wins that'd be an excellent sign for the rebuild.

Im a Vol fan, but i definitely have Texas and Georgia in the top 2. As for Tenneseee, i dont know if we deserve #6 right now this early. Im enjoying the hell out of it, tho. We don't know if this NC State win was much at all yet. NC state may be horribke this year. They haven't looked good even against WCU or whoever. I think the rankings are fair, I get where your coming from too and I think the logic is good, but strictly what I’ve seen I still think Georgia and OSU are 1 and 2 in either order, I think talent wise they are the best and I don’t think either have shown anything to be overly concerned about, I think having Texas at 1 is fine but I think it’s similar to the Notre Dame situation where once the season is further along that win looks a lot less impressive
As a Buckeye it’s pretty self explanatory why we dropped in Lou’s poll. With that being said we still at least blow out who we should( Notra Dame) and there’s solace in that.
Syracuse may very well be a dark horse for the playoff. Thier schedule is pretty favorable. If they go I into the NC state game 5-0 and win that game they can definitely be in the conversation.

You gotta rank Texas #1 for beating the reigning national champs and current perceived top 15 team in their stadium. But when all is said and done, I think Michigan is going to struggle to be bowl eligible this season. The win won't look as impressive as it does now. Texas does avoid Ole Miss, Bama, Tennessee, and Mizzou, all top 10 teams in the SEC, so they have a manageable schedule to prop them up.
I think the rankings should be based on who would beat who if they played right now but at same time we consider what they've done which is easier to know cause we do know so I can see how the teams would be ranked this way but I forsee upcoming games that will shift a teams place and direction definitely for me personally the USC game will wage leverage as to where Michigan stands but right now were not good and I feel we will drop more I in my opinion don't see us as top 25 team at the end unless we can improve drastically especially on pass defense and running the ball

Arizona vs Kansas state is a non conference game. Yes the teams are in the same conference now, but it was an already scheduled non conference game that won’t count towards conference standings.
OU alum here. We have major issues. 1. Playcalling is terrible 2. O-line is horrific 3. QB looks like Ryan Leaf in the NFL Unless we make drastic changes and improvements, Tennessee will beat us handily. If we can’t run in Houston it’s going to be a long year.
Honestly, you could have Texas or UGA as the top team. Through a couple games, it’s clear that Texas and UGA are the top teams and then you can argue the rest. UGA beating the hell out of Clemson was a big one and Texas beating the hell Michigan was a statement. 1 & 2 are interchangeable currently.

For me, at this time, based on how good these teams looked and who they beat , my top 10: Texas, UGA, Tennessee, OSU, USC, Mizzou, Utah, Penn State, Miami, Syracuse, Nebraska. Ok, top 11 but Nebraska impressed. This is just for this week and based on who they beat and how. Was very close between UGA and Texas, considering UGA beat a team that laid 66 on Appy State, verses Texas that beat a team (Michigan) that does not have the defense Clemson does.

Just need to see them do it first. So far we know nothing about Ole Miss defense. Nothing. Nor if they coudl score that many on a ranked team. So... I think they will and their D is probably better this season..

Boise state and Idaho at their best still shouldn’t come close to Oregon purely based off the talent they have. Oregon shouldn’t be playing these games close
There are problems at Oregon. Oregon had one of the best O lines last year and are one of the worst this year. I wouldn't call Idaho or Boise State bad teams, but they don't have D line that should be able to push Oregon around.
