Just overly complex.... as a casual gamer like me i feel its a bit much..... so many different tables and items to get sort craft upgrade foods list goes on. Ontop of that crafted items are underpowered. As a new player 40ish hours in 10 days not enjoying the experience...... ark is punishing but simple enough to play and learn with clear progression sets weapons and armors tames etc....
@@FastDuDeJiunn ark is complex I poured hours into that and never left the beach because random op dinos would rip us apart. I flew around but that ended in death miles from base and had to undergo the whole process of taming a new flyer just to rescue my stuff. There are no boss fights and the lore is hard to understand. Recipes are complicated as fk with no clues how to put kibble together for each Dino breed you need wiki constantly. Conan has boss fights, mini boss fights, huge map with rewarding exploration and you have a chance of out running anything messy you stumble into. It is lore rich with stories and legends and epic armours to find and collect. Each table is easy to use with recipe and ingredients listed no guess work needed as with arks. Tamed commands are simplified in Conan compared to arks million commands that requires a degree to operate. Conan is easy. Ark is complex.
@@FastDuDeJiunn It can seem overwhelming, but i wouldnt call it overly complex. Its formulaic just like ARK is. To get a jumpstart on levels just spend some time right out of the gate running around the map doing feats and working on discovery. I dont do anything larger than camps with 3 bandits until i at least have an axe and a t2 shield. Probably a thrall as well. It just like ARK in that you wouldnt run around fighting groups of dinos on foot.
Me and a friend of mine started playing last week on official servers, we were both mid 50s and were able to loot legendary chests from the spider boss, crocodile, rhino, reaper queen and white tiger. My friend mains daggers and bows and hasn't gotten a single weapon, while I've gotten an axe, a mace, a shield and two different swords xD The game's been a blast, and brings me back to the days where online gaming was relatively new, with a huge world to explore and get wrecked in.
Yoo that's cool as fuck we were also able to loot these same chest at lvl 50 plus too we running like 5 people clan just pvming learning the game it's been dope asf.
In the Sinner's Refuge cave if you happen to find the entertainer (dancer, or whatever they are called now) you can break him on a wheel of pain and take from him the complete set of armor at once.
Executioner's Hood is a random armor drop in the unnamed city also. The lizardman (3 skull) boss just southeast of the unnamed city entrance south of shattered springs drops a random legendary weapon or armor piece each time it is killed. I know I'm commenting in this quite late. The Asura's armor used to do Survival, but now each piece does something different. I just equip the gloves along with whatever heavy armor I'm already wearing when thrall hunting for a little bonus concussive damage.
The boss Winged Death in the Unnamed City also drops (VERY rare) a javelin called The Riptide, this javelin, when held will grant true underwater breathing, you will lose no breath while underwater. This is the only way to get this javelin. It is extremely valuable if you want to build a water base as I did. WARNING: 1: a javelin is a THROWING WEAPON, meaning, if you are holding it and right click - you will throw it and it will be lost forever! You'll need to grind for another (I actually learned this the hard way, after grinding for ages for another, I went into settings and disabled the Rclick when ever I was building - HIGHLY recommended!). And 2: if you are building underwater, when you switch to building blocks you will no longer be holding the Riptide and thus will begin losing breath. Having the Underwater Breathing Mask from Teimos (also the only way to get that) will double your build time, and once you run out of air and start drowning switch back to holding the javelin, you will stop drowning and can safely swim to the surface for more air. Not mentioned, The Archivist Library also has a chance to give the Skelos Cultist Armor, this light armor grants 5 cold resist for each peice. with the Riptide, Underwater Breathing Mask, and Reinforced Skelos Armor I was able to build a base on and bridge across the freezing lake at the Black Keep.
Yes! Riptide...so rare I forgot all about it...thanks for sharing that 👍 actually, I don't think it's even listed in the wiki or forums as a drop from Winged Death anymore🤔 I'll have to look into the forums again
year later and the game is somehow broken for me.. sometimes when I equip the underwater breathing mask touching water it gives me unlimited breath and sometimes not and when it does not, I dive and change in to the sandstorm mask while underwater and that gives unlimited breath somehow, don't ask how or why.. oh and I play on xbox one x..
I love this game I'm currently playing on ps4 on a private server called Realm of gods and men. I never knew Conan could be this fun and time consuming but i love it.
Excellent video, I found out about most of the stuff here the hard way back in the day, wish I had these resources. One thing I’ve noticed that’s missing in RU-vid is an informational video on where and how to get utility items, like last breath, riptide etc. (you did cover plenty of the utility armor here) the information is out there but scattered among dozens of videos.
This video made me cry a bit. I miss the accuracy stat. I always mained a bow. Really loved my accuracy stat. Especially with the poitain caviler armour stat bonuses and silent legion helm...made it easy to max out accuracy and capitalize on charges shot put downs and ricochet shots ...
Can't thank you enough for your vids. I Started playing a week ago and your guides about Conan Exiles are the best I've watched so far. Minimum spoilers, enough info and to the point.
Never had a problem looting a legendary chest before LvL 60 or even 30, in fact I don't hunt world bosses after I max a character. Thanks for the tips on armors, I had no idea where to get climbing recipe and kept forgetting to look it up online, it was a pleasant surprise.
There are so many tiny, missable things to find and unlock. I know this video focuses on armor, but I wonder if there are enough weapon recipes to find for another video? Or maybe one that combines weapons with decorations like flags and the like? E.g. you can randomly click on a Darfari flag outside the Dregs to learn their banners, click on a weapon on a bench nearby to craft Darfari weapons, and find a tiny box behind a hut that teaches a language note, all near to each other.
Yes there are a bunch of weapon items you can find in the open world... But with all the constant patches lately and things changing so much I decided to wait a little bit and let things settle down before putting out another video. The last thing I want to do is put out a video giving players outdated info 😵. But, thanks so much for the comment 👍
Playing on ps4 I’m just watching your videos and sitting here wishing I had your hud and minimap, I mean a compass time of day and a mini map color me jelly
That is the Hosav's extended UI mod....it really makes life easier. Wish there was a mod system for consoles as a lot of players could really benefit from it👍
Please can put put named bookmarks on the video? Really saves time trying to find one part to show someone :-( This video is super helpful and that would make it epic helpful
Don't think that "not knowing" what to do in the game is a negative thing. Part of the experience is leaning the game as a whole. There are plenty of guides out there to help you along your journey, but the beauty in this game is that there is no right or wrong way to play it....the game allows you to play any style you want. You can play aggressively to get to end game, or you can enjoy the highs and lows of advancing at a non rushed pace. Also, there's no real "set in stone" path you have to follow to get to end game levels as there is always a work around to achieve many things in game.👍
Little tip: The Oathbreaker near the Mounds of The Dead is a easy but somewhat difficult Thrall for both Torturers Bench and Wheel of Pains. Just try and kill the Treasure Hunters while in the process. With that he is farmable if you set up the Greater Wheel of Pain for faster conversion or a Lesser Wheel of Pain. He excellent for making better concussions for truncheons and with the bonus of the Advanced Blunt Modifier.
Thanks, I was going to cover that(something similar) in a vid awhile back, but a friend had just completed a video about it. But it is a great tip and thank you for sharing that👍
Thanks.... Thought about doing one for Siptah, but there are so many changes in the last couple of weeks I'm going to hold off a few more days before I get into it
Glad I could help!! I was playing on a community server for about a year now then the owner shut it down. Now I just play around on my server "Conan Exiled Lands by Rottonjon" feel free to jump on anytime!
@@airnomadgenzin no cross play as of yet...but the game developers have mentioned that they would like to work towards that sometime in the near future
Yeah Xalthars Refuge is no joke, I haven't seen human mobs anywhere else in the game with a healthpool like the folks there have and they sure dish out a lot of damage too.. my best, most desperate and triumphant moments in the game were all had in that bloody cave..
ah likahed n sobscrahbed. Dang! Wet a sec . . . . lets see if the voice transcription service (brought to you by Fugu gum, the most exciting chewing experience in the world!) is working as intended now. I very much appreciated the content and form of this interesting, exciting, and heart-warming video product. The factual and artistic merits meet or exceed my expectations, so much so I have subscribed to your channel and wish to affirmatively signal that I have done so. By the Iron God who does not answer prayers [insert meaningless colorful intensive here], I greatly appreciated your timely and fornicatingly good review. . . . . aw sheet ah caint uz thisn softwahr.
For the sinners cave if you kill the named t4 at the end, apparently they have a rare chance to drop 3 pieces of their gear which can be legendary lol. Happened to me about an hour ago :)
They've made a few changes since i put out this video. I'm going to update some videos to reflect the AOW updates soon. Been waiting for the next chapter to be announced tho. Thanks for the comment, I'll pin it to pass it on👍
@rottonjon yeah, I realised the age of the video after I posted the comment aha :). Sweet ill give it a watch when you do. I'm new to the game myself recently :D
Killed Loss of All Hope spider boss yesterday for the first time, dropped the helm and I was able to unlock the chest on official server America #1501. This was at level 48 or so.
That armor you get at the frost temple it can be dye and you forgot the free armor thrall's in the mounds of the Dead can give you but I see what you wanna show new players to this game.
These were just the "hidden" armors....I'm going to do a quick vid on the "harvestable" armors like the steel cimmerian at mounds and the pagoda area lemurian armors as well as the dungeon armors you can get like from the witch queen and other dungeons. But thanks for the comment...always like to see comments from you 👍👍😁
I was able to open a legendary chest before level 60 on xbox as well as a clan member who was level 40. I couldn’t open the samechest a second time though when I killed the boss again.
ty for this video some of this stuff i for got were stuff is like the hyena armor : ) gonna put this on favs : ) iam trying to get the pillow dancer named dancer trying to finde
How up to date is this vid? I for example can't find the priest in Sinners Refuge. Btw, I've been watching your vods on your playthrough, only at the 9th episode but still, really enjoyable content!
The guide is still up to date👍 the priest at sinners refuge has a low RNG chance to spawn in.... It can sometimes take quite a few tries to get the one you want
Yeah... it's Fashionist mod to display weapons on your back and belt. However, in update 2.5 they are adding in similar capabilities to the game without a mod👍
Maybe its relevant so long from the video post. maybe not.... you can get WAAAAY more gossamer harvesting those silk nodes with a sickle, especially if you use Oil of Bounty
Hello. I have the ability to make the silent legion armors but it's not close to the armor on the left of the thumbnail (I saw your response to question in comments). Is that a modded armor? Am I being too impatient while looking around? I really like the armor part between the top plate and thigh plates but it doesn't seem like their is any armor that looks like that (without mods). Please any help to put my search to rest thanks!!
I think at the time of recording that video, the server I was on was using the fashionist mod. I think it was the silent legion armor that gets the wet look through the mod.
When you reset your attributes and feat points you still retain all the special recipes you've already learned. Then you can spend your feet points on the normal recipes 👍
@@rottonjon I was wondering what the britches were on the thumbnail 😔, unfortunately I play on console (ps5) so they aren't available. Vids are top notch 👑.
Is the ability to open a legendary chest a new glitch? About 3 days ago I was able to open the rhino chest by summaru at around level 42, but pretty sure it was level 42. Not a pro, so thought maybe it's not level 60 to open it but level 40.
It seems to be a hit and miss type of thing in the Exiled Lands since the introduction of Isle of Siptah. I've been able to do it on some servers and unable to open them on others while being under level 60👍
What are those 2 mods you are using. I can't find a mini map that works, the mod with all the details top left I have no idea what it's called so cant look for it.
Fashionist mod...adds a few character details and placeable items, Hosav's Custom UI Revamped mod...sets up your user interface pretty much anyway you want it. You can even turn everything off in the UI so that you just have your character and world with no user interface shown on your screen.
I started playing about 2 weeks ago, im now level 54. all of done is farm material and a few followers. what level should I be going in and fighting boss's in caves ?
I've gone in as early as level 6 and defeated the priest king in the war makers dungeon, it just depends on when you feel you're ready and if you're taking a thrall make sure they have 10 or more levels on them so that they have some strength and vitality to tank the bosses for you. Also, make sure you put a bedroll just outside of the dungeon so you can get back in as quickly as possible 👍
@@rottonjon yea I have a journey step to destroy abysmal remnant but I’ve been holding off lol. My thrall is level 10 with 3625 health and 9 strength. Guess I will go and try it
@@scottcunni Good luck, you should do ok in there. I just went in there with a lvl 3 tier 2 fighter from noob river and the fighter killed the abysmal beast before I could kill off the last 2 skeletons. Don't forget to read the red book at the bottom of the acid pit after you defeat the beast. The pit will drain and reveal the recipe book for abysmal items as well as the epic reptilian armor.
@@CoraSeby Fashionist mod also adds a few more placeable items like an armor stand which is nice for displaying your armor sets👍 and a few other "role play" items.
It's a mod... Hosav's UI Revamped mod. You can turn on a whole bunch of different UI information or turn everything off all together and have a nice clean screen 👍
@@rottonjon thank you, lol i am new to conan and had been asking every video producer how to get into admin controls and get unlimited building blocks, well ultimately i had to figure it out on my own... i thank you VERY much for actually responding to my comment! Unlike other youtubers! If i haven't subscribed i definatly will now!
