I've shared this with several of our friends and family. Our family had Beach homes and have been coming to MB since the late fifties. Been through a few hurricanes, but it was really hard to see the horrible destruction Micheal left. That drive through Tyndall that use to be beautiful pine tree lined ... But it's coming back! MB Strong! Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks Kathryn, I never saw MB until the 90's I bet it was even more my style in the 50's and 60's. Take care and yes MB is making a comeback!

This video is so awesome!! I was there on a disaster relief mission 3 months after hurricane Michael and saw with my own eyes the devastation the city suffered. Watching your video makes my heart happy to see how the vegetation is already grown and how most have rebuild from ashes. Thank you for taking the time to post, it is beautifully made!

Thank you for the heartfelt comment and for your service after the hurricane. It takes a lot of time to edit this type of video but comments like yours make is all worthwhile. I have other videos coming out soon showing Port St. Joe and the stretch between PCB and MB so I hope you will subscribe (if you haven't already)so you won't miss those. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for this video. Three of my favorite places are still gone, Buena Vista Motel, Toucan's, and Sharon's Cafe. Looking forward to El Governor finishes next year so we can return. This has been our favorite Florida town since we discovered it in 1994.

You are welcome, Toucan's happens to be the most viewed portion of the video so I think a lot of people agree with you on that.

It appears that Mexico Beach is coming back, stronger than before. It will take time!

Wow! This is a really good video. That Hurricane sure did do some damage!

It sure did, I would never want to ride out a hurricane after seeing what Michael did. FYI, word on the street is that the Donna Kay will be removed from the beach soon so I"M glad you got to go see her.

@@OutsideDog Yeah I'm glad I got to see her. I wonder what the real story is why the boat was there. I've heard a few stories but no one really knows.

That storm took so much, it's infuriating. Especially all those trees that are no longer there. The town lost a lot of it's charm but it's still my little slice of heaven and always will be. I used to work at that subway across from toucans way back in the day.

I went through Katrina and thought I seen some trees get blown down but what Michael did to the forest in y'all's area is mind blowing! The entire landscape changed in a matter of hours, I hate that

What a cool video, we just moved to the area. We thought there was a lot less in Mexico Beach than there was pre Michael.

I took a drive to Mexico Beach while at a resort in PCB just a few short weeks ago. 4.5 years later and scars still remain on the landscape from Tyndall AFB to where I drove when visiting MB.

Great video! Thanks for sharing! My hubby & I were there 10 days before Michael hit. We returned one year later and again this past September. Mexico Beach is our favorite place to vacation.

NICE SOUNDTRACK PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND............. SHUFFLE ALONG TO NEAL YOUNG Michael made landfall on a workday locally in Metro Detroit and made the prediction of a cat 3 before stunning forecasters for its ferocity that was upgraded cat 5 virtually as it had made landfall. Witnessed HURRICANE FLOYD IN 1999. As was the welcome I received in Fort Myers 1 year after Hurricane Francis. Still, trampolines covered literally every home. Well done storm chasers.

Proof that building a house on stilts doesn’t mean it will survive a Cat. 5 monster! It just blew those houses right off those concrete pilings and ripped them to shreds.
@OutsideDog
@OutsideDog Год назад
Yes those stilts protect from the storm surge but that wind tho. Thanks for watching.

Yes especially where the storm surge hit. The Palms can withstand the salt but not much else. Thanks for watching.

@OutsideDog Not near as bad but damage to Hwy 98 on both sides and flooded the other way out. No power for 2 weeks. National gaurd and volunteers brought stuff in. It was like a long camping trip.

Most of the differences aren't visible from this video. They are found on the streets the turn off to the right.
