Video details the upgrade to our 20121 & 2019 Honda NC750X seats, it includes an update from approximatley 4 months after the work was carried out.
Gel Pad inserted into the orignal seats with the original cover used.
Work done by Viking Motorcycle Seats: Lovely couple of guys, great to deal with and they offer a while you wait service, or drop the seat off, or by post service.

I modified my 2019 seat to lower the height cutting away most of the foam. Later I got a professional upholsterer to put a gel insert in and to tidy it up. Its much flatter and I dont roll forward. While doing this I also ordered a comfort seat from TopSellerie (as they were recommended to me). They customized it for me - also lowered and gel inserted. I'm happy with the style and comfort, but less so with the height saving (so I'm going back to the original modified seat). Anyway I reckon that Shad isn't the only 3rd party option, just wanted to shout out for Top Sellerie.

Thanks for the comment and useful information, when I went for the shad seat every other option I could find was much more expensive, but Top Sellerie do appear to be good value.

Well done, very good attempt to improve things which is my present project with NC700d seat - research has resulted in a rejection of gel because it is a one way trip, compresses to a stop point where you are then mere millimetres away from the original problem! Have now gone along route of airbags which is very promising, the vertical and horizontal movement whilst compressed definitely keeps blood flowing, just something softer under it might be the holy grail! Have watched guys testing the new BSA Gold Star and wondering whether those seats might be the cure-all?

Well the Shad seat is just high quality foam and I did two weeks touring with virtually no numb bum on it, so I’m definitely one to vote for a full re upholstery of the seat.

After spending around $500 on seat upgrades I've found that the OEM is as comfortable or even more so, and having a 30" inseam the OEM allows me to almost flat foot it, the aftermarket upgraded seats always seem to be a little wider and higher.

Aftermarket seats do generally add some height and width, even the shad one I have does. I have between a 31&32 inch inseam and can just flat foot with the shad, so I can see why it could be an issue.

I went with a custom seat (Laam) for my 2022 NC. So far very happy with it but haven't ridden any long distances yet. What crash bars do you have on the 2021? Givi???

Good luck with the seat, let me know when you have done some distance on it…or better still post a review video ;) Regarding the bars, they are Givi upper and lower sets as well as Givi spots. Honda uk would only provide bars in silver (despite the brochure showing black too) and the silver wasn’t to our taste. Very pleased with them, though the dealer fitted them so I have no idea how easy/hard they are to fit (I’ve had issues with Givi products and fitting in the past, if I had fitted them myself I’d have done a video!)
