I watching all from Poland and I can't even imagine that sad tragedy and disaster. I feel from people from USA especially from Florida right now. I wish I could help 😢. Sounds like everything goes really slowly by local government but the damage is unreal and there is not much man power to help everyone. Probably its takes weeks or months to recover and come back to some normal stable life. I hope everybody get needed help and enough money to start again. Best wishes from Poland. Stay all safe. You are a kind soul, I am in USA but in Reno nv. Where the real suffering is in Roseville, go on you tube and check it out. They've had no help for over 5 days. NONE. bodies everywhere, only help is from eachother whole town flooded severely. Weather report said a little rain. It hit them without warning.

More like 125 or something tornados its unheard of. I don't even want to think about those who lost everything including family members. We have some flooding in Poland but it wasn't that big like in USA. I just wish everybody there including politics no matter what fraction work together as a one collective unit and beside talking mambo jambo take this situation more seriously and provide more needed help where is really needed. Milions or thousands people lost almost everything. They really need support. Not just from local reinforcement or neighbors or people of free will.

Just be grateful you are alive and didn't end up like Roseville who were told maybe they'd get some rain and ended up severely flooding the whole town with NO OUTSIDE HELP FOR OVER 4 DAYS AND STILL ONLY RED CROSS. NO WATER, FOOD,POWER, NO GAS, BODIES ARE ALL OVER THAT TOWN STILL ..DEAD. THIS IS A FACT MY FRIEND. PEOPLE STUCK IN THEIR ATTIC, ROOF. ONLY HELP THEY GOT WAS FROM EACHOTHER. Desantis is one guy, trying to do all he can… we didn’t leave because of the gas situation… stayed here in Charlotte county. we had our power restored within 12 hrs … These first responders are doing all they can and deserve our gratitude.

If the power was turned off would there be damage to the transformers? When transformers explode they have to be replaced. Wouldn't make sense to turn off the power before the peak of the storm to save the transformers. The time replacing the transformers is why the power is off for so long. Is there anybody out there that can explain this to me?

i would check any live feeds that are available online- they might not be available yet because of power losses but most of the time in these situations social media (with proper research & multiple sources) is the better place to find specific information. the news is going to be covering the hard hit areas first. NASA and SpaceX might make a statement on X before news get to them lol. hope that helped
You don’t need to be passionate about garbage collection to do this job but you have to be passionate about providing a service to a community and going above and beyond to make sure they’re needs are met every single day. That drives people and when there’s an emergency you can see who has that passion to help others. When we recognize that personality type, those are the people we should be paying millions of dollars a year to not, Instagram models who shake their assets or athletes that continue to cheat on their spouses. We need to recognize the people that care about other people.
So how do we lessen the blow of these storms. If we cannot do that then we might as well abandon the coasts of our country. Sand to create barrier islands that are taller than the coast and can absorb large portion of the strenght of the storm.
Actually anyone that lives in Florida should not be able to get homeowners insurance! They know the consequences, it just makes people in other states pay higher insurance!

I mean I was in the path and still have no power. All my food is done for I have no ac. As I see it my leader is so nothing for my town. In my town we only have power restored to 10,000 people out of 160,000. So someone is failing Florida right now and that's still not counting another 2 million people without power
@CorinaLBailey DeSantis himself has made this situation political when he refused to speak to the sitting Vice President when she called to see if there was anything she could do to get help to the people affected by the hurricanes. I heartily agree it should in no way be political, but ignoring what is actually happening doesn't fix the problem. People shouldn't be made to be afraid to ask FEMA for help in fear of losing their homes. They shouldn't be afraid that "they" are controlling the weather and directing hurricanes to Republican controlled areas but they are. It's deplorable but this is where we are.
Poor excuse, for another governor, Florida has hurricanes every year and they still have the same message that they give while people are stuck with no power no water.

I am a Democrat, and I have to say Gov. DeSantis seems to be doing an excellent job with a hugely catastrophic series of events in Florida. I also appreciate that he is praising local, state and federal response teams for their efforts. We are all Americans, and I feel like it is time we start helping and appreciating one another.

I mean I help my neighbor clean up after I clean my mess I was left with I still don't have power after 24 hours..... 150000 in my town don't have power but there was only 160000 affected. It doesn't look good on my end that they only restored 10000 in a town hit in the path? I thought we were first to get help? I'm doing everything to keep my food good. He's not going to help me or help me get the tree off my house and fema won't either. This state is going to fail if we get another few years of back to back storms and I stand by that. I wish I had 3 million dollars in donations from insurance companies 😢
Sorry this happened, but on the Note of being FAIR - to all other insured, these people had 5 days to get their movable assets OUT OF HARMS WAY, so now all of us who pay insurance, have to take a claim from these people that were irresponsible!!!
So just cars and boats? What is considered moveable to you? Because even if we can move every "moveable" like you say will insurance still go up because you can't move a business or a house? My insurance went up 90 dollars for my car because... No reason I have clean driving records never had a claim and my insurance went up weeks before the both storm were on the radar. The state is a sand barge and is designed by nature to be a swamp with a lot of fresh water. We turned it into something it was not meant to be. Everything below Tallahassee was not meant to house people unless you like living in a swamp. Never stay in Florida when there is a hurricane on the way. Glad to see so many survived and sad that some died. But this will keep happening and get worst as more people migrate to the state.
