Enduring Activity: Updates in Pediatrics: Common Overdoses in Pediatrics
Target Audience
This activity is relevant for all specialties and is targeted toward all general pediatric physicians and pediatric subspecialists in the community.
Statement of Need
Our learners need the knowledge and strategies to assist in recognizing, evaluating and treating common and not so common problems presenting in a primary care setting, including when it is appropriate to refer.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
1. Recognize the most common pediatric drug overdoses, their applicable toxidrome and initial steps in management.
2. Identify drugs that can be fatal to children in small or therapeutic adult doses.
3. Identify common substances used by adolescents.
4. Describe how to prevent and address the use of common substances by adolescents.
