3 years ago I really wanted a hamster, I begged my parents for one and they said I could if I did proper research on them. That's when I came across your channel. I got my hamster in June 2022 and she is still going strong! I am so thankful for your videos, helping me and so many other pet owners give their pets a great life!
I had a similar case! I had wanted a hamster when I was 7. I have begged my parents for one but I never got one. Later in 2022 around November/December I had come across this channel. I was so interested in all the different videos so I took notes on them. I looked at hamster care guide, safe and unsafe items for hamsters, as well as their diet and expenses. In the end I had watched like every video relating to their care that I had 4 pages of notes. I had showed my parents the notes and they said I could get one. Then in January of 2023 I got a hamster. There names are pancakes and waffles they are robo dwarf hamsters and there are almost 2. Just 4 more months! 😁
Likewise, I lost Titus (winter white) and he was around for almost 2.5 years. No way he would have done so well with pet store care advice. Great channel for anyone who wants the best for their pets!
@@froggystyle642same here, if I didn’t found her video, I might do mistake like what I did to my first syrian years ago (the horror). Currently I’m hamster less but my last one also winter white and Toby lived quite long, it’s 2 years and 4 months.
I’ve been waiting for an update on the hams 🤎🐹 The paw print ornament idea is adorable! Bunny playtime? And kitty sightings? You spoil your fans Victoria. 😊
this year in march, I asked my mom to get a hamster. She told me to do research on them, and I stumbled upon you! Thank you so much for helping me give my hamster a better life! He became a happy little guy after I started following what you recommended😊 thank you for giving these animals great lives❤
On the 19th, two days after her first bday, my hammy Sandy suddenly started limping! I took her to the vet and he said it was either sprained or broken and to give it some rest. Luckily she’s doing much better and using her leg a bit again! 😊 i was so relieved haha
@@VictoriaRaechelthank you! She’s already running around again. I wish my vet had more experience with small animals though… he called her a Guinea pig and wasn’t very careful with her😢
I’m getting a hamster for my birthday in November!! I’ve spent countless hours researching and watching yours and many other hamtubers (just made that word up lol) videos. I’m so excited to give a hammy a nice home!! 🐹
I love the paw ornament idea! So cute especially with all the different pets. I have several dogs, a cat and a hamster. This would make plenty of ornaments lol
I loved all the updates and seeing all the pets! 🥰 I hope you find out what‘s going on with Penny‘s fur and I‘m so excited to see more of adorable little Toonie 🥹❤
I love the hamsters so much you inspired me to actually start a RU-vid channel and I’m so happy I found someone ho could show me proper care I used to have 2 Syrian hamsters who only lived in a small cage but now I have 4 hamsters living in 600 inch cages with 8 inches of bedding and I know it’s not perfect but I’m very happy to say my hamsters are having a happy and enriched life because of you so thank you so much I’ve been watching all your videos over and over agian for almost 2 years and I’m still not bored so what I’m trying to say is thank you so much for all you do for hamsters it means a lot to many of us -Charlotte❤❤❤
I had been asking my parents for years for a hamster and I removed about a month before my birthday In September of last year I knew I was going to get a hamster for my birthday so I did some research and I found your channel then on my birthday I got a 4 week old syrian named boe and about a week after my birthday this year he got wet tail so I got him medicine and the vet said he would most likely be fine, he made it almost a week until he passed away I don’t know how I would make it through this without your videos to cheer me up and you helped me to give him a great life I am so grateful for you and I know boe is too
i love buying from hamsters we love! i only found them from watching your videos and ive ordered from them twice and both times they added an adorable hamster sticker and ive been using them to decorate my vr headset i look forward to ordering from them again just to collect all the stickers 😂
@@VictoriaRaechel Oh my goodness thank you so much for replying it means the world to me thank you💗 I been watching your videos for 5 years now you taught me so much if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t know how to properly treat my hamsters and be as passionate I am about them now without you💗💗
I'm in the UK and have had quite a lot of Hamsterswelove stuff on my etsy wishlist for a while now. I saw this video as a sign it was time to check out😂
Seeing the little paw prints reminds me of my past hamster, i made one when he left during his sent off day😭 but didnt knew we can self diy them too. I do see sage eye browns appearing! 🤭
I am glad the hamsters are doing well and yes I love the animal molds…I have one of my hamster Soki who has been gone for 4 years now but I always look back on it and glad I have it…❤❤❤ Great content😊😊😊❤❤❤
I hope there isn't anything serious with Penny and the new vet would pinpoint the issue and help Penny get a speedy recovery, and it's so lovely to see Toonie warms up to you, such a cutie!
i found your channel and got a hamster last year, she died last week, thank you for helping me help her have a good life. i know you might not see this but if you did just know you made an impact please. I've been here since Dipper And Mable
that taming method you've been trying for tooney is the exact same one im currently trying with my chinese hammy Pebbles. i thought she was a ghost hammy too because she wanted nothing to do with me for 4 months and would run away at the lights turning on and anyone getting near the cage even just the sound of my chair moving would be enough to scare her home then she just sat under her wood bridge next to the cage door so i figured i'd try and interact with her and i added her seed mix into my hand and she hopped straight in. it almost made me cry 😅i'd been trying everyday for 4 months to try and get her used to me and she wanted none of it then she decided to wake up one day and get over her fear of hoomans :D she still hasnt let me pet her yet but im guessing anytime in the next 2-3 weeks and she's gonna be a lot calmer and easier to handle
Very cool project! My first Syrian hamster Speedy got Cushing’s Disease. He lost all of his fur and looked unrecognizable. His skin got dry, which caused some painful bruising. Poor thing. He was so sweet. If the vet diagnosis is that, then it’ll be great if she can help manage it. Good luck at the appointment 🤞🏽
My hams hair is thinning too at 1 yr 8 months old. The vet said she's worried about Cushing's especially because the location of the hair loss was near his adrenal glands. But she treated him for mites and told me to email in a month if his fur had grown back he would be fine if not we could discuss testing him. She said he would have to be sedated to get blood. I'm not sure I want to put him thru that again. He had a mass removed and when I brought him to the vet for the follow up he was clearly more distressed than he ever was before. It was heart breaking he was so scared.
I have a story to share 2 years ago, I adopted my first hamster (unfortunately in a pet store because there a no breeders where I live, a sparsely populated area of Canada) At the petstore I had to show them my cage setup to prove I was ready to get it, I showed my 600sq inch bin cage for a dwarf and I was denied because « there were no bars for them to climb on ». I was pissed as I knew it was wrong and hamsters didn’t need stuff to climb for enrichment. I went to a different petstore and adopted there. Today I went to the petstore, and took a look at their hamsters as I want to adopt one in a few weeks, and they improved their hamster care, they are now housed in aquariums, with more bedding, more hideouts, scatter fed, with a larger wheel and a boredom breaker, in separate enclosures. The word of proper hamster care is spreading and I’m here for it! Can’t wait to get my new hammy
I asked my mom in march for a hamster and she said yes and then my other hamster died of a heart attack and I got a new hamster I named her Oreo then I started looking for a nice channel and then I found yours thank you for giving my hamster a good life more ground cover a bigger rat
6:42 love the rainbow lights!! I wanna try these paw prints with my dog and maybe rats as well. It's amazing to see that Toonie is becoming more confident around you. 😍 The rabbits are so cute! ;A; Could Penny also be allergic to something in his enclosure? A certain incredient of his food? The bedding or any material in his cage?
It probably would work great with rats since they're a bit heavier!! I would assume if it was an allergy it could cause his skin to become itchy and irritated but in Penny's case it's not. It would probably be almost impossible to try and figure out if he was allergic to something considering the amount of substrates and ingredients in his food 🥲
i hope penny get well! my longhair syrian also lost his hair and thinning out before he even reach 1ys old , he passed away in my hands 2months ago , i can see his fur get very thin that his skirt is gone , seeing penny remind me of Kohaku (his name) since he looks like him! its very sad because he wa active the day before and his body condition decrease in just few hours
I wonder if the hair loss could be attributed to a food allergy perhaps?? If you've given him any newer food, treats, or herbs in the past year, its possible that perhaps one of those things has been giving him an allergic reaction?? 🤔🥺🐹 Poor little guy!
I'm not really sure, It almost would be impossible to try and figure out what exactly it is since there are probably 30+ ingredients in his diet and all the different types of substrates in his enclosure. I would assume if it was an allergy it would cause the skin to be itchy and irritated but in Penny's case he isn't itchy or irritated at all.
Omgoodness I am In love with Toonie!!! She is an adorable hamster!!!! And I am sooo happy she decided to come out! Also I have a 1 year old hamster and ever since he was little I was too scared to hold him without gloves and now he tries to bite me if my hand is near him! 😢 What do you think I could do to hold him without gloves?!?
She is very very cute! I hope I'll get to share her more with the internet! Unfortunately I don't have a ton of tips when it comes to biting, for some hamster's they may just want to be left alone or they need to learn that your hand isn't something they need to be scared of, offering treats may help.
I have a shorthaired syrian boy that had a significant hair loss since July 2023 and only few weeks ago he started noticeably growing his hair back. I still have no idea why he started balding in the first place, I started calling him a naked chicken leg
Sometimes it's easy to solve (like mites or ringworm) and then other times it feels almost impossible to pin point the cause when it's neither of the first two 🥺
If it's safe and you yourself would drink it then i don't see why not ☺️ If you aren't lucky enough to have safe tap water that you would drink yourself then no I wouldn't recommend giving it to them.
Hey I am not sure who is going to see this. But I just got my hamster who I named “cider” he is in a great cage but he doesn’t come out till maybe 12-1 am. Is there a way I can adapt his schedule, ❤
You can try sprinkling their food around the enclosure or setting out at salad a bit earlier to see if that would help but other than that there isn't a whole lot you can do as they are naturally a nocturnal/crepuscular species.
