I believe Splash Paints are essentially PPG automotive paints. And yes, they're very hot. Typically, I'll use DupliColor primer/sealer as a base coat on my builds which has worked out pretty well for me thus far. Sorry to hear about your work situation. Honestly I've been in a similar place, as I've found it particularly tough to make my way out to the bench after work. Just not enough energy or brain power to put forth what I feel would be a worthwhile effort. I'll spend time reading through instructions and dry-fitting components over and over in lieu of forward progress. Keep your head up, sir! Enjoy the hobby when you have the chance.

I'm sure John understands and nice shout-out. I had a bunch I forgot about once so I know the feeling. Crazy about that paint, I use acrylics only and mostly Apple Barrel of FolkArt or if you want brand name's Vallejo & Tamiya paints and have had great luck. my COPD will not allow me to use "thinner" based paint's. I have to do the spray cans out side and it is winter that is over. Love the tool box, need to make me one, what did you use for the handles? It's all good Henry, so do what you need too man. I've found out that by adding dishwasher rinse agent or (Jet Dry) to Apple Barrel paints acts as a binding agent and makes it work soooo much better. There is a video out there on this subject. I'll try to find it for you.

Great shout outs and I'm sure that John will have no problem with you only now getting his shop card. Sorry to hear about the De - Liverachee build, but it seems like you have it figured out. With your channel, I understand how tough it can be. Even for me, I'm retired, but there are times when I don't get anything content worthy or I just feel I'm putting too much pressure on myself to get content out. For you working like you do, it's completely understandable that you need to back off a bit, life has a way of dictating how we live it sometimes. Take care and we'll see you around!!
Sorry to see you get snakebit again on the paint. You really have to be careful with lacquers. A lot of the thinners out there are way too "hot" for styrene. I get good results with the cheap Klean Strip thinner in the blue metal can. There is only so much time to go around. When you are pressed like this with unavoidable commitments such as work something has to give. This is a hobby, something you do in your spare time to relax, not an obligation to be stressed over. I'm sure there are other things in your life that need to be attended to. It's all about priorities and finding a happy medium between the things you want to do and the things you have to do. I'm sure the 50 hour work weeks won't last forever and then things will be back to normal.
