Updating your CIPC Contact Details
Many of our customers get confused when it comes to updating their contact information on CIPC. I will try to explain and simplify the process for you. Updating your CIPC contact details usually happens under following three scenarios.
The first scenario is when clients try to log on to CIPC using the SWIFT customer code and then click on forgot password. CIPC then sends us a OTP, requesting a password reset. The issue with this is that the SWIFT code belongs to us, SwiftReg and we won’t allow clients access to our customer code. Your company was linked to the SWIFT code when it was initially registered by us, on your behalf.
This problem usually occurs immediately after the company is registered at CIPC and before we have been able to issue the share certificates. This is because CIPC confusingly sends a SMS and an email instructing the directors of the newly formed company, to log on to CIPC to retrieve the documents and at the same time emails us the completed company documents. Once we have received the company documents we still need to issue the share certificates and combine all the necessary documents which the banks require for you to open your new business banking account.
At this point in time you most likely do not have a CIPC customer code which creates the confusion. We do advise our client to ignore this instruction from CIPC but this is often forgotten. Please remember that the SWIFT code will remain on your Cor 14.3 indefinitely.
The next scenario is if you already have an existing CIPC customer code, but you would like to update your contact details. In such cases CIPC will ask you for a relative’s id number as a security check, this is then verified against the Home Affairs database and the rest of the online process is straight forward.
The last scenario is when we have been asked by you to do a company name change. In order for this to take place CIPC sends a OTP to the directors of the company to active the process. In many cases the mobile phone numbers are incorrect or outdated and the process comes to a halt as the OTP is never received by the directors of the company. In such cases we would need to update the CoR 39 on CIPC at a cost of R150. Once this is done, CIPC will then send the directors of the company a OTP to activate the process. Fortunately, these OTPs do not expire so you can forward them to us in due course so that we can complete the application on your behalf.
I hope this has clarified the process of updating your contact details with CIPC
So as always remember WE ARE HERE TO HELP

Hy guys I've been trying to key in the enterprise number to try and retrieve my documents and certificates but keeps on saying the number is invalid, I've checked and tried again a couple of times but still no change. What could cause this?

There must be 12 digits in total. The registration number is made up of three sections. The first section is the year (four digits) followed by 6 digits (add zeros in font of the number to make up the 6 digits) and then two postfix digits usually 07 for Pty's or 23 for Close corporations.
