Listen to a burmester system as in glc amg compared to B&O it’s like night and day, B&O is so low rate, I’m looking for an upgrade to the upgraded system in my 2015 sq5
@@Vaguh there’s no comparison the clarity of burmester is unreal and you can push the speakers whereas the bang and O are just so flat and boring due to the presets which you can change but the parameters are so tight it’s pointless, I believe you get what you pay for when it comes to sound
B&O are so low rate, a couple of years I wanted some wireless head buds for the gym, so I went for B&O as I had read good things about them this was before I got sq5 what a waste of money they were I stopped using them the sounds was awful, why on Earth Audi changed from using Bose is beyond me or even if they used a high end system as an option and Bose as standard but B&O I think are an absolutely waste of money
@@Vaguh I hope folks are at least clicking your affiliate link. You deserve it - since literally no other b9 channels are doing this type of in depth content - not to mention with a tutorial on the install.
I will reiterate others' experience dealing with Bruce. I purchased the mids (B9 Sportback) from his site, and he is super helpful and responded quickly with correspondence related to my order.
I did this today. I cut one of the trim tools in half so it would fit under the windshield. It's a night and day difference with just the one center speaker from Bruce Miranda (and the basser box). Thanks for the video.
I have a tundra with a jbl system that was supposed to be top end and my Audi b&o system blows it out of the water! I’m not sure I need to upgrade the Audi (yet). My Tundra needs to catch up first.
You've probably figured it out already... Bruce put many items on backorder intentionally to force a conversation with him. He'll help you figure out which options you need.
I installed a Kicker Key and a 12" kicker down fire on my 2022 Q5 with B&O. I never had issues with the stock speakers other than the sub. I did have to tune the amp to get the sub to match the rest of the car. I actually enjoy it now.
I have no complaints other than the sub woofer on my 2022 Q5 With B&O. I do have to agree, the center speaker sounds like crap. Some times when I get close my house, my carplay will switch to only the center speaker and it sounds awful. I remember my BMW had a better sounding center speaker. My BMW also did the same thing. I think it's something with iPhone or carplay
So…who makes the original B/O speakers? I saw Audi rings on the one you removed. Does B/O just stamp that on the speaker back? Lastly, what is the brand of the ‘upgraded’ new speaker?
Agree that the B&O upgrade is lacking. Brand new SQ5 Prestige (2 days) and already looking to upgrade the system somehow. The center speaker sounds like a good start but it looks like I would have to buy the center plus 2 doors. Not quite ready to take the door panels off just yet. The 2023 dash where the speaker is located is a bit different.
Looking forward to the front and rear door install vids as well. Just purchased everything I need so I’m following this closely. Thank you for the content.
The B@O system in my TTRS rocks. At not even half volume the sound is phenomenal. Im an audiophile, have a home system that I’ve invested close to 6k. Think I’ll keep the system the way it is in the TTRS.
Curious to see what settings you have it in for treble/bass/sub. I’m trying to mess with mine because it doesn’t sound great but Im not sure if it’s just my settings or not
coming from focals i bot at 07/22 new a3 with b&o system. i can tell you the wors sound ever. i dont know why the give b&o name and logos on speaker grils. thw wors sound ever and they charged me 1500 euro for. it will be much better to get audis 8 speakers systema and upgrade it.
Can't thank you enough for sharing this info. I will be starting my journey to upgrading my S5 soundstage and this will go a long way to helping me. Thanks again buddy! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
i am waiting on a 2024 s5 and thought the stereo was going to be like my home B&O stereo, but been hearing a different story. if you could give me the name and part numbers of the replacement speakers for center ,doors and sub. thanks
Thank you for sharing these detailed videos. I just finished replacing the center speaker and the mids & woofers in the doors (same setup as yours for those) and wow does it sound good! I did however drop my socket down the hole next to the center speaker (stupid i know). I heard it tumble down a bit and i couldn't see it when looking down the hole with my phone. Any thoughts on how i might retrieve that?
Can please try the sound system in mazda CX30 2022 primeum plus ? Please give me your feefback because i looove it . And i wish i have it in my audi q5 2018 .
Hi, thanks for the recco…got these speakers from Bruce M and they were incredible. Bruce was super helpful and recommended a setup which is working wonderfully…… thanks again. Would recommend all to go with the Bruce on their upgrades.
i have the same car. just bought. i feel like theres no sound centered on me as a driver. i hear in front and kinda in the rear. do you think that is just a settling somewhere? can you reset the sound only? im still learning the car and do not know what is normal. thaanks
Can I run this center speaker without upgrading anything else? Was thinking of doing the oem sub location upgrade and this center speaker, and be done. This channel is 🔥🔥
What speakers does Bruce use for the front upgrades? It doesn't say on his website and couldn't tell from your video. I just want to see the speaker specs. There's another seller who uses Dayton's with his kit and want to compare
just an fyi for B9 owners of these vehicles - a lot of the subs were wired in reverse polarity from the factory. I have a 2019 SB S5 and 10 minutes of soldering fixed mine last night and it hits WAY harder and you can actually hear the bass. This is a big problem with these models. You can also just repin the connectors but I find soldering easier.
Interesting. Im also finding the speakers I haven’t replaced now need replacing. I’ll likely order them and do another video going over all the replacements and upgrades I’ve done to date.
Before replacing this, did you ever notice a rattle? Been thinking about prying the center speaker grill to see if there’s something loose in there. Just curious. Thx.
So…who makes the original B/O speakers? I saw Audi rings on the one you removed. Does B/O just stamp that on the speaker back? Lastly, what is the brand of the ‘upgraded’ new speaker?
Did you have B&O to start with or is this the Audi stock rig? As am looking to up grade mine! We’ll the centre and door speakers for sure! But will I need any amps as am not sure if the stock system is amplified?
I have a 2018 a 5 sport pack with B and O audio system. As of lately, the bassbis not as loud as it used to be. I can turn up the sub full blast and it's not that deep. This only happens sometimes, certain times the bass is as it should be. Is my amp the issue and is it easy to replace? All in all I'm happy with my system except lately the Bass problem.
Could depend on the audio input as well. I’ve noticed that if I’m a streaming music on Apple Music it’s higher quality then some of the streaming stuff from Pandora and varies between songs as well.
I did the same system, but with ciare hwg 160 instead of aurum cantus. I am not satisfied with its sound, it takes me more towards the middle range. Is aurum cantus a better choice? There are also several versions of it, c2c, ck.
The autumn Cantus I have are definitely nice an full for a mid range sub. They’re very punchy, like I feel my leg hairs shake from bad hits. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for, but they won’t me too, low as the B&O programming in the amp will only pas certain frequencies. I would have to do some research into what model would be best, you could also reach out to Bruce.
Different sensitivity levels = less required wattage. plus cone materials and magnetivity., and definitely frequency reproduction on the higher end for example softer dome material can create softer high end treble on ears or harder speakers sounding more harsh for example. Just my opinion
So my problem with my B9 A4 with B&O is that the treble is piercing loud, even after upgrading my 2 door midwoofers and center speaker with Bruce’s speaker kit. I try to turn up the volume to make everything sound full, but I can’t tolerate the high frequencies to even get the rest of the sound range at the volume I want it. Any tips?
Did you adjust the sound settings to boost treble and bass? I tried that but the treble isn't great sounding so I have it at default in the middle. I think the best option is to upgrade the tweeters in the A frame to get better quality.
@@RyanSheppard I think I’ve played around with everything at this point - the treble the bass, and moving the fader slightly back to take away from the dash. It’s just like the dash is shouting in your face, and you are only hearing the highest range of the vocals. Sounds really thin, and fatigues your ears
Is that FaitalPRO 4FE32 the 4 ohm version? Do you think they're too bright and overpower the other speakers? Bobby from the forums suggests the 8 ohm version because it lowers the output by 3db and is supposed to be less harsh. I want to place my order for these mids but can't decide between having more volume vs. slightly lower volume but with smoother sound. Thoughts?
It’s hard to say, so much depends on the type of music you listen to and what other upgrades you’ve done. I also have a 10” JL sub and these do a great job of keeping up at higher volume levels. I also listen to a lot of books and podcasts, and they’re very well balanced for voice. I listen to all kinds of music and have no complaints with these.
@@Vaguh I followed the advice of the Audi World members as well and ordered the Aurum Cantus AC165/50C2C woofers, and will now order these Faitalpro mids for my S5 sportback. I'll be looking for replacement tweets in the lower A pillar soon too. I was debating on going with a full overhaul of the sound system, but wanted to see if I would be satisfied just changing out the speakers for better quality ones like many of you already have. I listen to all different types of stuff as well and like it pretty loud, so the 4 ohm version with the extra sensitivity should work best for me. I removed the stock sub and I'm currently running a single Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 sealed and Rockford T1500-1BDCP. Once I get all the new door speakers in my hands, I will be watching your vids to help with my install so thank you.
Yeah, the B&O electronics and tuning are great, but the speakers themselves are the same cheap paper cone speakers that are on all levels of systems. I’ve had the stock speakers blow out on the front already. This upgrade makes a huge improvement in clarity and range.
@@Vaguh Stock sub. B9I S4. I want to blame the guy that did my tint because he removed the panels lol. Poor excuse. Ha ha. but I think it's the rear deck lid for the most part. It's a lot of work to dampen it but I dont see any other options. I've tried pressing the clips tighter but to no avail.
@@terrycorkum got it. I have the Sportback, so we had a tiny 6.5” sub under the spare tire. I think yours is a 10” in the rear deck. Try some foam tape under the grill.
@@terrycorkum I had the same problem. Took it to the dealer twice. 2nd time they fix it. Added insulation I think. I can say the one thing I hate about these alcara are all the rattles
Wellllll the B&O is kinda low par compared to my buddies 2015 BMW M4 H&K sound system… his sound system is realllyyyy good from the factory, Audi kinda dropped the ball on this sound system.
@@93ChayZ I agree, my 2017 Volvo V60 R Design Platinum Harman Kardon system was way better than my current 2020 Audi A4 Allroad B&O . The B&O is good, but the HK was superb, that’s just my humble opinion
That’s just false. My speakers do not get distorted AT ALL! And the max I can listen to is maybe a little more than half volume, any more and it’s too fucking loud for me. Either way, the B&O in the 2019 A5 coupe is 👌🏽
I’m glad you’re happy with it. I upgraded the bass by adding a 10” subwoofer in the trunk. Even with the gain on the amp turned way down and the subwoofer control set low in the MMI, the stock speakers had a hard time keeping up and cutting through. I didn’t initially have an issue with the stock speakers, but trust me when I say, the aftermarket speakers are much more clear.
@@stealthhtm23 lol, my dad has a 2020 S550 w the upgraded Burmester sound system, and my mom has an S8 w the fully upgraded B&O, Iv been around some good sound systems
@@stealthhtm23 totally agree, just got my RS5 and I’m disappointed in the B&O. I feel like my M4 with the Harman Kardon system was better, and the B&O is supposed to be an upgrade from that.
@@gerry_mpxriders2297 I ended up just getting the Bruce Miranda center dash speaker, disconnected the oem sub, and put the JL Audio CP110 in the trunk, and made a world of a difference
Bruce and Bobby have done a fantastic amount of work on this topic. I'm slowly putting together all the parts, accessories, and tools to redo all the speakers in my RS5. For me it's less about being an audiophile and more about making my car unique.
