Just wanted to share a video to upgrade interior lights in a Toyota Camry 2017 with White LED. Lights used: Premium White LED 6000K Lights changed - 2 Map lights 2 Dome lights 2 Courtesy Door lights 1 Trunk Light
6000K is not White, it is Blue-White. If you want a neutral White you need around 4500K. Also, through proper editing the video length could have been cut in half or more.
I admit the amber lights are not bright enough to red a book at night for example but I don’t want other people to see everything I’m doing inside at night that’s why I didn’t like it
Understood, for the same reason I do not keep the cabin light to 'door' mode, so that they are not too bright at night (unless I am looking for something or reading something). The other lights work awesome at night... very bright, easy for eyes and looks awesome!
24 hours later , I ended up using tape that is used to wrap boxes. Worked like a charm. On my first try I had them both off , you can also use 3m double sided tape too, it’s stronger.
Hi, may I know is it possible to install the courtesy (puddle) light in their side mirrors? It will make easier if we want to enter the car though. Is someone ever installed it before?
look on Ebay for led interior lights for your specific vehicle. I got a complete set for my Toyota Camry. Very inexpensive. Waiting to arrive and install
For me the lights came with a tool (looks like a fork) and I used it to lift it a little bit and then pull it out. You can take a fork and use it to lift the tiny bulbs are little bit and then use your fingers to pull it out. Be careful not to bend it too much with the fork, it might damage the bulb holder. To make it easier, I used the tape to stick the bulb and then pull it out. I think that works better since it gives a stronger grip to the bulb. (see video at 2:25)
These lights will work for a few weeks, then they start flicker, best to spend the money and get sylvania zero 168 or 194 leds, they don't go out like that plus they have a lifetime warranty, I did my license plate, curtacy light, map light, reverse light, rear passenger light, turn signal light in mirror, trunk light, glovbox light next I gotta do the front and rear turn signal bulbs, on my 2014 avalon.
Nappyboy007 I guess you got lucky 🍀 cause even on my second replacement set I experienced the exact same thing, it was, but I feel once it give the cop 👮 a reason to stop me for license bulb 💡 being out that was it....
I am also using the sylvania bulbs. I can't get the new sylvania bulbs into the map lights. They seem thicker than the original bulb. Do you have to push them in extra hard or something? I know, a stupid question but the sylvania just don't want to go into that bulb slot.
From what I have read, LED bulbs are hit or miss. Some people get a run of horribly manufactured LEDs and just can’t get a break, while some individuals get lucky with a good batch of LEDs that do not ever burn out. At this point, there’s no “perfect” LED that won’t burn out or flicker, all you have to do is give em a try until you find a batch that’s not problematic. There’s no other way, cause even Sylvania has bad batches of LEDs.
