He is clearly trying to one up the Swiss Army Victorianox with lock pick tools. ( i personally have upgraded my covert companion 3 times already...sigh...going for 4 now)😢
@@leadingauctions8440that tourist port thingy where they put locks along the fence. Basically the locks are like putting initials of a couple on a tree.
@@leadingauctions8440 Cleaning up "love locks" that people leave locked to fences, bridges, etc. They're considered litter/trash, so CI picks them, collects them, and uses them for training people like first responders on non-destructive entry.
Well you can remove the now redundant set of rakes and single pin picks that came with your covert companion. I wish the CC was designed with all the tools as full sized and individually removable for use becuse as it is most are much more difficult to use when they are small and attached to the rest of the tools that you don’t need at the moment.
McNally is a very talented picker there's no doubt but for people that are just getting into this I highly recommend that you take a look at law lock and multipick. the tools are vastly superior. However, everyone has to find out the hard way, because whether it's Sparrow, Peterson, covert instruments , law lock , or multipick, it's going to come down to what works for you based on how you pick. No two people are going to use a pick exactly the same.
@@Abdallah-i4g I did, like a week after I posted this, and the comb set. I like the full size picks better, this would've been cool, but the case and stuff was worth it.
My favorite lock pick was that brass strip on $1 rulers that was part of my "school supplies" goes with the magic markers (contraband holder), compass (stabby thing), pencils+ rubber bands (crossbow ammo) and so on...
The southern specialties Jacknife is really good especially if you reprofile the tensioner, they all lack the flatbar that opens up the world of tensioners
very nice. always wanted some picks and a turning tool to practice with. i did manage to learn to pick a lock with a pair of angled tweezers but its not the easiest thing in the world especially with no turning tool lol. someday...
I wish the riv pick came out before I bought the other pick sets. If you are a beginner out there, get this riv pick with some tension wrenches from covert instruments.
Is there a tool/companion with a few different tension wrenches? U have your big companion with a lot of variety but you would always have to disassemble to get a tension wrench. Thanks for your time reading this
Is there a reason why you hold the tension wrench at the top instead of the bottom ? Just got my first pick set through your link and I’m struggling to say the least lol. I can pick the practice lock every time but a master lock just won’t budge. I got lucky once..
I had no idea these could slap right in the c.c. i dont need to do it. I already have these picks in mine. I dont need to do it for any reason.Yet the fact that I COULD do it makes me giddy.
I wish the CC was designed with all the tools as full sized and individually removable for use becuse as it is most are much more difficult to use when they are small and attached to the rest of the tools that you don’t need at the moment. 😢
Gotta be really careful with these sort of things. In some jurisdictions, if you're accused of a crime that would normally be a misdemeanor, but you're found to have lockpicks on you, it can automatically get upgraded to a felony charge.
4 months ago I helped a friend get into his bathroom cause he got locked out. Need to work on my timing. Got it in 8 mins 35 sec. Didn't help I was turning in the wrong direction cause it was a reverse tumbler.
Please check your state laws on carrying lock picks on your person. Some states allow cops to use that as evidence of intent to commit burglary and will charge you.
Does the Riv-Pick actually come off of the Covert Companion for use or do you use it still attached? IOW does it remove like the turning tools! Thanks.
The rivet on mine is so tight that I risk bending the metal out of place when I try to rotate the picks. I suppose that's better than them being loose, but I'm not sure how one is supposed to loosen a rivet without basically breaking the whole thing. 😅
I only need it to open this government lock to this area by the river. There is literally no sign saying no trespassing or anything. It's just a random gate to a little grassy area. imo thats fair game. It's just about who can pick the lock.
Seems like it's just a Fossil bifold wallet that he cut a little slit into to hold this tool. Google 'Fossil bifold' and you can probably pick just about any of them.
I hope at least lock noob or somebody doesn't demonstration on this because apparently you could nestle the tension bars with it but I don't understand how.
You can place one of the four Covert Companion Turning Tool Expansion Pack turners on top of the Riv-Pick so that you can quickly access a pick and a turner when deploying the Riv-Pick. We will have more content and demonstrations to come!
@@CovertInstrumentsOfficial Thank you for the reply. I just hope the demo isn't a YT short. I don't get notifications for them and they're too short, hence the name lol.
So this is a really interesting comment, and I'm going to chalk it up to me not knowing how to actually correctly use the jiggler. I've had astonishingly little luck using that tool in comparison to like the quint rake or something.
