Hey guys - something a bit different here enjoying my nerdy PC roots a little, Not sure if for the average consumer would go for the MCABLE but if you’ve got a large 4K TV the upscaling works well! Overall I am pretty impressed. Mark

Improved? Yes. Would I buy this instead of two Switch games I've not played yet? No.

I'm surprised Nintendo never came up with this idea, seems like an add-on they'd love to bilk their customers over. like the rumble cartridge back in the day

Very interesting. I believe the switch could benefit the most from plug and play better graphics. There are a few graphics cards that can process via usb cable out there. This could really give quality of life update for the switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still one of my favorite graphical games of all-time. I love it more than some of the "most hardcore" graphical pushing games. It will forever be on my all-time list. :)

It's a bit pricey for what it does.

It's best for games 1080p and below. Also knowing the games target resolution and setting that on a system level to output so mclassic can do it's job works on most games in this category. I use on 360 games I run on my Xbox X,while setting to 720 or 1080p on the system level and then turn on mclassic to green and get great results that way. Makes the older games more playable on a bigger screen. 👍✌

Aw... I was hoping for it to increase the FPS at the very least. Would be great if there was something you can plug on the Switch on hand held and help increase FPS is all I could hope for. But then again, thats for the Switch Pro of the future.

That price tag is gonna turn some people off from this product. But if you think about it, you can use it for other consoles too not just the switch. Love contents like this. Should the Switch be on 720p or 1080p cause i see ppl saying to put on 720p but it looks sharper on 1080p with mclassic??

I bought this Mclassic and love it. I noticed a HUGH diff in the games I play.

The moment I saw this, I was reminded instantly of the N64 Memory Expansion cartridge. This isn't quite the same thing, but it's a simple little gadget none the less.

which hdmi is best for Mclassic. I have had Sony 4k tv worked fine but after I bought Samsung 8k have issue

The testing made with 720p output as suggested by marseille?it supposed to work better with games sub 1080p like astral chain witcher etc but in 720p switch output so the upscale to 1080p come from the mclassic and not the switch itself.sorry for my english its not my native language.

I had no joy with mine sadly ... it would appear it's more likely to work better on crap or older Tvs -- I was using it with a 32" 4K IPS display with a GC/ WII/U PS3 and switch ... - basically it would appear my monitor already does upscale to an extent and so I paid £70 + £25 tax as a backer for a paper weight with a pretty light -- Now if you are playing games on a 50"+ display or especially TV maybe it will work better. There are quite a few limitations, for example if you are emulating GC games on nintendon't WiiU the wiiu output can be 1080p and fool the device into thinking it's upscaling that image, however the GC might only be running 480P or lower, anything pixel or really retro is also not going to work, unless you want to use the switch on the device to just force it to 4:3 display. -- Gutted actually as like this video, I've seen other people comment that it does make a small difference, however it's almost not noticeable if any in my case.

I might be a strane person, but believe it or not I am very happy graphicwise with all the games I personally choose for my NS. Docked or not. Indies or AAA. Maybe because I come from the generation that saw the evolution and now everything seems AMAZING in comparison to the games we played back then))) Said all that - I wanna Switch PRO!! ))))

Works best on 480p consoles actually. I bought one during their campaign and payed $59 as an early backer. Also, try it on a PS3 with a blueray movie on a 4K TV!! My latest videos show it on an original Xbox.

Not sure if this was mentioned before but I believe Marseille recommends setting the Switch to output all games 720p manually which if I understand correctly is the native resolution for all Switch games. If you leave it at 1080p the Switch tries to upscale itself and introduces errors with the MClassic algorithm limiting it's effectiveness. I did this and noticed noticeable improvement in all games.

Here we go watch Nintendo release another dock onto the market in 2020 that will add a little more power and will simple upscale switch games close to 4K as possible. But really I can actually see them doing something like that. Instead of a switch pro.

When you say large 4k TV what size do you consider large? I been on the fence about getting this due to the price but if my TV isn't large enough to make a difference then I probably won't get it.

Did you set the Switch TV resolution to 720p? It makes a big difference in all games. When using the mClassic, I always set the console setting to 720p and I can tell the difference in all games. Hell, in Doom, even setting the console to 480p looks good with mClassic. Though, I do play in a CRT monitor... So that may also make a differences.

So should you leave the switch resolution to 1080p or automatic?

Could this help with sao fatal bullet being so pixalated when there is a lot of npcs?

The upscaler only works if youre using a monitor higher than native res. Even if the game is 7200, the switch is still technically putting outna 1080p signal.

I have bought this dongle. In some modern games (witcher3, mortal kombat 11, ...) you see small differences. Noticable, but not enhancing. In other modern games there is nothing to see (for example doom 2016) BUT in many older game engines (Assassins creed, Skyrim, Dragons Dogma,...) there is a HUGE enhancement. They look awfull good!! Just like setting the resolution much higher. (Of course, this is what the dongle does) In all Games (older, newer) there is a big enhancement for alpha transparency. Much better looking of water.

I'm dying to try this baby with an overclocked Switch. Make my own little Switch Pro, hehe.

Could you review the Gamesir VX2 Aimswitch? I bought the first one and was really disappointed, however they made a revision which is said to be better.

Great review. I love mine I backed it on Kickstarter and I was super skeptical about it initially. While not perfect for the price I paid I do not regret it. You forgot to cover the retro mode when you flip the switch back and the bulb turns blue. I use that mode on retro games and my Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro. I notice a big difference when I put games into 720p on the Switch/PS3 it upscales nicely to my 1440p monitor in the regular mode.

Does it remotely transmit the signal to tv?

This looks quality and since I got a Pro Controller for Xmas and play on the TV more instead of handheld it looks like a reasonably well priced upgrade. Does the dongle get hot with prolonged use and if it does would it affect the Switch warranty if that then overheated?

I’ll pass for sure. I mostly just play my Switch Hybrid 1.0 in handheld mode anyway. It’s a 80/20 split for me in handheld vs docked. I rarely use my dock.

If we were not about to get a new Xbox, PlayStation, and possibly a new Switch this year then I would buy it but with all that stuff right on the horizon it seems better to hold off since it didn't say it worked with any of those future systems.

It works the same as the mcable I have the classic and the cable and it looks amazing on the switch. One thing you wount expect is it enhances light with godrays in games also. I had to unmod skyrim because they were too blinding.

I decided to support this device and got a pack of 2 (one for myself and one for my brother). And I have been super happy with my purchase since I've moved from a 50" to a 65", granted it was $80 for each. The difference is much more noticeable on a larger screen for sure. Not a necessary thing to have, but nice nonetheless. I think it upscales most of the switch games to 2k though.

So this doesnt work for switch handheld? Only docked?

$100 for something you have to zoom in 1,000x to notice? Nah, I’ll just settle for the graphics my Switch puts out 👍🏻

You're supposed to change the Switch's output to 720p if the game you're playing has that as a native resolution, because otherwise, the mClassic is trying to clean up an image that the Switch has already poorly upscaled to 1080p. That's why your results on games like the Witcher aren't as good.

When docked i mainly use the switch on a 1440p monitor. I wonder how that would look. Hmmmm

How good does this work for ps2?

Did you notice any extra drainage on the battery? The battery life on the original switches which I have are not too great although I have combatted that with a power bank.

Does it make any difference at all in handheld mode?

What do you guys mean "a native resolution game"? Is it that The Witcher has dynamic resolution?

I like the improvement in graphical sharpness but why is everything darker? I wouldn't want my games darker...

I connected 2 mclassics back to back on my switch and got super amazing results. Big upgrade from only one mclassic.

Ok finally solved the problem it was my fault. Mclassic can obviously only 1.4 HDMI so when I use 2.0 or new on 8k TV then go wrong. 😉. Thank Google

They gonna have to do a little more then just get rid of jagged edges for my $99.00 but I appreciate their effort. Only means more people are on the case to improve visuals on the Switch.

If you change the Switch's output to 720p on titles that run at it (Witcher, Xenoblade, CTR) then you see more of the difference it makes

Hey, for the best result you need to switch the consoles resolution to 720p in the menue. Then the mClassic shows the best results with any Switch Game

Don't need this honestly, if I want higher quality graphics at home I'll just boot up my PC haha. I don't miss the PC visuals that much tbh. Additionally, I use the Switch portable 99% of the time, so not worth the high price of this dongle. Might purchase something like this if it actually boosts the hardware/fps though (so I don't have to worry about games being unplayable du to a future Switch PRO version).
