For really functional, you need something that will create "plastic" that will not dissolve with hot water. Epoxy (the penetrating epoxy kind) would be the best for this and it is food safe (as most finishes in general) after they are cured. I only applied beeswax for now (literally grated beeswax, melted using a heat gun, then polished excess), so it probably not going to sustain coffee, but I shalst try and report :)
@@A2woodArtwould the treatment with beeswax hold for carbonated drinks? I’m making a beer mug as my first ever real project outside of school (the classic butter knives and such you had to make😅), and I want some type of nice finish for it once it’s done that will also help keep it in good condition, as natural as possible is preferable in my case. Sorry if my writing is a bit off, I hope it’s understandable either way, English is not my first language😅 Thank you in advance😊
